Hello fellow egoists! I hope you enjoyed the video because you can bet i enjoyed making it ! The theme of autotelic VS exotelic ego was something i was thinking about around 8 months ago though in a different manner so i'm really happy to see this concept finally appearing in the manga !
great video! how do you think noas statement “it feels better to score a hat trick and lose” fits into the ego types? seems like a self type of statement and yet isagi seems to resonate with the comment because of his hunger for goals.
@@silversauceranwell i wouldn't necessarily agree that the quote fits into world/self type by itself, since here we just know that he enjoys scoring more than anything but that doesn't tell us "why" he enjoys it. So we can't really know what his ego type is just from that, any striker no matter their ego type will probably resonate with that quote
- “self type” pursues pleasure - “world type” pursues glory - most people have a combination of both - competitive players who aim to be the best are inherently pursuing glory to at least some degree. - therefore, most blue lock players have a mix of pleasure (self) and glory (world) types
I would say that world type players pursue pleasure just like self types, simply that their pleasure comes from outside gazes instead of purely themselves. But we do know that the reason isagi wants to be the best or score goals is because he feels pleasure from it, just like shidou and that his frustration when not scoring is even higher than shidou at that !
I'm so happy when kaneshiro adds real life concepts like that you can actually apply. Even if it's a well known concept, it's much easier to implement it if there's emotional impact behind it. Also the unique spin onto those concepts that kaneshiro puts
Genuinly I think about that a lot. It feels nearly orgasmic to imagine you can do so much with so little effort. I mean, imagine what you can do with all the effort
@@RandomVex i think thats the pitfall of talent that is killing nagi right now pretty much everyone at this level has committed themselves too football for good or ill. They've already gone through adversity and come to accept that. Nagi has gotten this far with virtually no game iq, no existential crisis and no great dreams. Its just fun. What happens when its not fun. You get bored you lose focus you fall off. For everyone else its not fun its life. Nagi lacks character and you cant go far on talent alone
Not to act over-confident, but I’m basically the same as Nagi. I’m talented at every sport I try, for example basketball, badminton, hockey, football, and many more. I probably got it from my dad since he played many different sports when he was growing up, but I was also born with a flexible body, and a lazy personality, kinda making me like really similar to Nagi. Which is cook cuz he’s my favorite character :)
IK u said and the chapters said that isagi is a world type ego but we know that isagi's original ego was sealed by his trash school team. So could it be possible that his OG ego was self type or is it just a crack pot theory considering world types are analytical and he was always like that
I think it possible to have both self and world type ego.. rin might have it, and isagi clearly does.. he want to be best in world but we’ve clearly seen him found pleasure with n beating others

Honestly, I think your accent is too strong, and I can't even make out any of the words you're saying.
- “self type” pursues pleasure
- “world type” pursues glory
- most people have a combination of both
- competitive players who aim to be the best are inherently pursuing glory to at least some degree.
- therefore, most blue lock players have a mix of pleasure (self) and glory (world) types
So its more like a spectrum where one end is self and the other is world

@@the-wise-egoist That's what I've been trying to say, but failed at articulating it better at the time. Yup, I agree!

Bruh, I still wish I was like Nagi, damn. Imagine having that much talent and potential though.

@@RandomVexEver heard of diminishing returns ? We have already seen his peak and max effort when he fought Isagi in girst selection lol.
The fun part is there but after are while it will diminish and everything will feel boring
