First time for me to join your channel and am very happy I did 😊you chose the decks that I adore and they are very special to me.. Am starting my utube channel and was wondering about my first video 🤔and I was thinking about the tarot of the hidden realms because it's my favorite of all times, I have a huge collection of decks 500+ and of all these decks it's my biggest joy to look at these cards 😊 Thanks a lot for your lovely video and you have a very warm voice.. I wish we could keep in touch and I would love to hear from you 😊😊
Textured Tarot and Tarot of the Sidhe are in the stack of my 5 (or 8) favorites. I shared your initial feelings about the Sidhe, but I warmed very quickly - I'm really picky about collage decks and Textured's artist does a superb job. I also love the inclusive imagery of this deck. As a woman of color I was impressed by the beautiful and dramatic depictions. It reads well for me and has a sense of humor. My favorite image is the Princess of Wands with her pink violin. Loved and learned from your choices.
Thank you! Yes, she is a wonderful princess of wands in that deck and the king of cups is PERFECT as is the queen of pentacles . . . Welcome and thanks for the sub! 💜
I always feel your comments on decks are so illuminating. In the past I dissed the Llewellyn tarot without really realising how good an introduction it was to the Mabinogion. And I have been in two minds for ever over the Textured Tarot except that I thought it had now gone oop.? In any case your reason behind the choice of decks was most helpful - especially interesting about the Hidden Realms. Thank you!
Wouldn't you love to hear the Mabinogion recited in an original tongue? Imagine a bard singing one of the tales! I appreciate your feedback Anna xo Sadhana
I am really enjoying ALL of your videos, and your channel in general! Thank you so much for all of your detailed observations about individual cards and sharing your perspective about the decks your review. Every video of yours that I have watched to this point has been incredibly enlightening! 💛 I would like to give a shout out for the Celtic Wisdom Tarot by Caitlin Matthews and Olivia Rayner. This was actually my first deck and I’ve had it since 2002. I have no idea why more people do not have this deck...other than I think it might be out of print. If you can get this deck and guidebook it would be very worth it. The system has so many layers to it, and many different ways you can work with it, including Ogham. The cards are big and colorful with no boarders, and it comes with a full color, hard backed guide book that is chocked FULL! There are a couple of reviews on Aeclectic Tarot that explain this deck much better than I can here in this comment: www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/celtic-wisdom/ It’s also works well with my Shadowscapes, and Tarot of Trees. Celtic Wisdom Tarot is definitely an essential for me. I wish more people knew about it, maybe it would come back to print.
Hello. I doubt those people would die without their tarot decks. "Decks I can't live without" really means more of an expression of their value of tarot, not to be taken literally.
Hi Anne . . . I understand your comment. In this world of consumer excess and attachment to our stuff, I just find the tag, well, excessive. As a RUclips creator, while I may enable consumerism, I want to share my perspective on moderation and balance. Hope that helps. Sadhana 💜
@@IntegrativeHealingwithSadhana Actually, I was saying that I didn't think the Tarot community took the tag title literally. We all have our favorites and it's fun to see what others choose.
I really wanna get the Textured Tarot and I messaged Lisa... But the printers are closed in UK due to pandemic.. I am looking forward to have this deck. She even said it's not open for preordes yet..I'm saddened. I need this deck in my life. I think it's so brilliant!! I love collages and i also support my close friend who's a mixed media artist so this deck kinda reminds me of her.
Be patient . . . it will be worth the wait. I'm crossing my fingers that she uses another printer and paper type as this deck cannot be riffle shuffled. That is its only fault. I love so many things about Textured Tarot 😊
Agree with you, I love tarot, the art, the feelings cards can evoke. I like handing a deck to others and explore it with them. There are amazing mass market decks out there and for me I do not value a deck based on it is an indie deck or mass market. I value the decks in how the make me feel, or help me connect the different parts of self. I made to lists in my mind, one was 5 decks that read well for me and others, and one list that read only for myself. The 2 decks on both lists were Animal Totem and Tarot of Trees💖. I am glad you did this video, I really enjoy your take an cards and tarot. Another thing for me, every tarot deck in my collection has a pair...it is actually difficult for me to read with just 1 tarot deck😀
Taking time to allow the messages to come through is a process. It's like unraveling the layers of a deck as it reveals itself to you. When I really know a deck, it always reveals something new. Thank you for sharing your thoughts xo Sadhana
What a great response, thank you for making a VR. So many people have picked the Llewellyn Tarot, it's making me want to purchase it and explore those myths. You speak so beautifully about each deck, each one you picked has a real depth/layers to it; lots of myths, stories and fey! (Of course we can all live without tarot decks, the title is deliberately hyperbolic on my part so apologies for making you feel uncomfortable on that front, it was only meant as fun).
Thanks for watching Kelly Bear. I understand that the title was meant in fun. There's just this part of me that doesn't want to contribute to excessive consumerism. Language has a certain power we all need to be aware of, so I'm just doing my little bit. Love your channel and commentaries ❤️
I am glad I found a Canadian RUclipsr on Tarot. I am very new to this medium and I like to see my fellow Canadian's content. I have the Shadowscape deck and yes it is very beautiful.
I like your choices. I am one of those tarot readers who loves indie decks. If I could give everyone a gift of one tarot deck, I think it would be the Daniloff tarot. It's beautiful and easy to understand. That's probably a little one dimensional, but there you go.
The decks you chose and the reasons why we’re wonderful. I did a VR to Kelly Bear’s video as well. 3 of my 5 are mass market. My top choice was Legacy of the Divine Tarot. I think it is a great beginner deck. What I pointed out with that deck was the incorporation of The Fool in several of the other Major Arcana cards. It is after all The Fool’s journey. 😊
Yes, and learning to see that AND how the lessons repeat are part of the experience of working with several decks. Thank you for your feedback Cassandra 💜
I've got the Llewellyn in my cart now even though I've known about it for a while now. I think it is an understated deck. I've also been looking at the Textured Tarot and still deciding. Soo many decks I want lol
It's a beautiful fairytale book for "grown-ups"; you won't be disappointed. And, if you decide to trim, it makes a really sweet mini deck. Thanks for sharing and welcome to my channel! Sadhana xo
Did you end up doing a video with both the Llewellyn and Arthurian Tarot? I would be interested in watching it! I really enjoy you talking about your knowledge of the cards Sadhana! Thank you for sharing oxox
Thank you for making this beautiful video, I truly enjoyed the way you went through the decks and spoke. I'm so happy I came across your channel. Can you tell me where you purchased the beautiful bag that you keep your Shadowscapes Tarot in? blessings xx
lovee loveee lovee that you decide to not use indie decks in (your well said tittle name "essential" decks) video sometimes people just want "cheapest" mass market decks and for beginners it's really important to show them some possibilities. Llewellyn and Shadowscapes are honestly excellent decks beautiful energy .bb xo
I'm very new, 36 years old. what would you most recommend to me, someone not completely drawn to the rider Waite traditional look. someone who wants a deck that's more magical. would you recommend llewellen for a beginner?
Hi Amy . . . I've never done a video on beginner decks as I feel it is so personal. It depends entirely on the kind of art you like or if there is a theme that appeals to you. Even "magical" is subjective. Did you see my video on magical decks? ruclips.net/video/ifsjcfEaeQk/видео.html Llewellyn for the majors is full of history, magic and folklore, which makes it really interesting but it's a very specific genre. A lot of beginner's like Everyday Witch ruclips.net/video/PGY1EgoSqFs/видео.html Happy to keep this conversation going. Thanks for watching 😊
Hello Sadhana😊 I am curious what oracle decks you pair with the Hidden Realms or have you included this in a video already? Another video of beautiful deck!💖
Hi Layna, I love those two decks however, both require time and patience. I did a video series on Tarot of the Side (you may want to look at that). I have gifted Tarot of the Hidden Realm to several people. I believe that with the excellent guidebook in hand and trust in your intuition, it can be a wonderful beginner deck . . . selecting decks is so personal.

@@IntegrativeHealingwithSadhana thank you :) such a lovely video! Really lovely. Thanks for sharing. The only deck I would add is the Druid Craft, since it has very easy clear images and one of the best guide books.
Yes Helena, all of the Druidcraft guidebooks are amazing (tarot, animal, plant)! Thank you for watching 😊
