In this heavy East Coast flat spell it's a beautiful thing to capture some good energy that reminds us that at certain times in our lives we have been absolutely terrified of the ocean. It's been an interesting & definitely novelty ride doing my first ever big wave surfing over the past few years & finally having a big wave board that I love & I can trust will be an amazing asset to my quiver. We go a few times a year and I watch your videos to keep my mind right, especially when I get into vacation countdown mode. We rented your movie on Amazon we’re loving your work. Leaving for OBX tomorrow for the first time. 13 years sober too. All the best to you!
Protips:
1. Stop using the homepage. Use the subscriptions page as your home page.
2. Take the time to go through all your subscriptions and purge the stuff you don't watch anymore.
3. Clear your history and search history. Then turn off watch history and search history.
3b. RUclips will try multiple ways of trying to get you to turn your watch history back on, ignore them.
After a couple of weeks, your experience should improve. The related column will return to mostly actually related videos instead of recommended/suggestions. And you will be able to keep up with all your favorite channels. The home page is useless. And every person I talk to agrees. When it was a combination of subscriptions and related videos to what you usually watch, that was fine. When the whole page turned into various suggestions of all kinds, that is a fail. Not only will doing the above steps improve your experience, it will also help your favorite channels that focus on trying to create good content, rather than trying to game the system and submit to the algorithm.
If I want to only see ten percent of what I follow, and a bunch of random suggestions, I'll go back to one of those shitty social media sites like Facebook or Twitter. I'm sick of algorithms controlling all my feeds. I'm doing everything I can to try and offset it or work around it, even as far as totally stopping using any platform that wants to try and think for me. These algorithms should be responsive to your inputs, but they rarely seem to work that way.
Stop letting algorithms influence what you're doing. Break out of the bubble and take control of your RUclips experience. I do use the notifications bell for my favorite channels, but if you do the steps above, you won't miss videos from your favorite channels. Not only will you have a better experience, you'll also be more focused in what you're doing, instead of being pulled in whatever directions the machines try to send you, or try to decide what you want. Do you want machines thinking for you? Not me. Algorithms are great when it comes to helping find related content, but letting them think for you is a whole different thing. And letting the algorithms tell you what you should watch is just lazy.

That 8’0” is NO rhino chaser! Please… Big wave Gun are 10’0 and bigger x 21”+ and 3 1/2” thick. My go to big wave has been 10’ 7”x 22”x 3 3/4” 10” single Gun fin, or for 25’ faces and up, is my 11’ x 22” x 3 3/4” Single 10” Gun Fin.

So at the end of your video you speak of being open to your heart or soul connecting the pieces of the puzzle that guide you on your journey even if you don’t exactly know where you will end up. I completely agree with you also keep in mind it’s like Alan Watts said “You don’t dance to get to the other side of the room, you dance for the enjoyment of the dance” it’s not about where you end of it’s the enjoyment of the journey and seeing how things connect to make more magical things happen showing us we are on the “right” path for our soul.
