Amen! I was a Hindu monk for 25 years until God and the Holy Spirit dramatically came into my life while was living in India just over two months ago. They drove away all the evil spirits of the idols I worshiped right before my eyes and filled me with so much love and powerful conviction to obey the commandments of Jesus Christ. None of this, including my daily obedience, is possible without the mercy and presence of God in my mind, heart, soul and strength. Jesus is the only way, truth and life. Like the man called Legion in Luke 8 who had thousands of unclean spirits driven out of him and was commanded to tell everyone what great things God has done for him, I joyously share my testimony. Praise God!

Judith Trejo responding to an old comment of yours. You said “my flesh is wrestling” and it reminded me of a sermon I saw by Voddie Baucham - and my own life really. Voddie came from a rough background and he said something like “I would never trade all of the sin that I committed for a clean life. That sin is what makes me aware of the grace of God.” And as I thought about it, it’s true. I know that isn’t much comfort when you’re struggling but the struggle may eventually help you to understand God in a way that you otherwise would not.
Pray & Rebuke Satan, Take Communion, Don’t Celebrate Pagan Holidays Like Christmas & Easter, Build Love For Him, Don’t Fall Away, And Most Importantly, PRAY.

I knew God and grew up in church, then rebelled against God and life became dark and miserable and I became wicked...then He saved me and opened my eyes...I only want to please Him now. God is good.
You cannot obey god without god. I wish he would say " we cannot love if we don't have a heart." This makes sense.
Without God first calling us to Himself we would never turn from the way of our flesh. Even afterward the flesh is such a powerful enemy that we fall again and again.
along those lines, its more accurate to say that "we cannot love without God".
For God is Love. (1 John 4:16)
Jesus begins where you end. Give your life to him, and he will give you salvation and eternal life. The cost to be born of God is everything. Many prodigal sons will receive the new birth and many devout church going sons will become jealous and fall away. Jesus isn't on the corner begging anybody to come to him! Anyone can have his gift of grace thru faith. If they are willing to loose their life in order to gain Christ.

Like my heart is bursting for it but I have no clue what to do im lost and confused ive prayed and read the Bible alot ive repented and believed which must mean Im saved no natural man seeks God but I dont feel saved I feel disconnected I really am confused and worried :(

Mike Hill Absolutely! That's called sanctification (growing closer to Christ, as a believer). We all go through times of apathy and drought. Hold close to Christ and His person; He will not fail you.

Thats really comforting im only 11 months in at the start I was on fire reading lots watching loads of sermons praying a lot etc something made me doubt my salvation and then I got into a confused and worried mess but Im still going cause I want Him :)

We can't obey God without loving Him more than anything and anyone else. The first commandment is the most broken commandment. We cannot keep the first commandment or any of the other commandments without loving God more than everything. Anything less than 100% is breaking the first commandment. But how do we love God? We must confess, repent, pray and listen to Him, and ask Him to help us cooperate Him. We need to be born again from above, and keep cooperating with God. As we continue to love God stronger and stronger, He helps us to obey! Amen. He that loveth not God breaks His commandments.
If only I could put this man inside of every pulpit in the world for just one day!
John is one of the few Christian speaker/ pastors I can stomach listening to. There is a tremendous amount of sincerity, humility, and love in eveything he says. May the Holy Spirit continue to strengthen and enlighten you John for the work of God.

We were over in Rochester MN and drove thru Minneapolis MN and we really wanted to visit Bethlehem Baptist Church but we wern't able too for multiple reasons but I just have wanted to see you and be able to thank you in person for putting ballast in my boat. Since I have had to suffer through chronic pain and a uncommon disability I have felt like I was going under multiple times and also at times want to shipwreck myself but the Lord used your spirit led sermons to keep me a float in the roughest of water. Also to convict me of sins I never knew I had deep within my heart. I thank God for you and your love for the church to feed us!! I love you very much Pastor John. Thank you for your obedience to the Father all these years feeding his flock.

When people learn to repent.Then they obey what the Lord said in the Holy Spirit.That then means obey as much as you can.Turning from sin is what people must do.

The new birth.Not of the will of my flesh are the will of my blood.But from the will of God from above born of the Word the water the Spirit.
We can now "OBEY" His commandments because we now have ESTABLISHED a SAVING relationship with GOD thru Jesus Christ, there's no longer the mistaken ZEAL to OBEY the LAW like the Jewish people or any "religious" person did by thinking they can "ACHIEVE" salvation thru WORKS of the LAW...the OBEDIENCE Christ says as per what Pastor John Piper says is this WILLINGNESS to OBEY because of the LOVE He gave us, in GRATITUDE for what He has done...and that's why it's impossible to Obey God without God...we WILL Obey Him because of what CHRIST Jesus has done. And Pastor John Piper says it very clearly. It's like having that Love to your parents, we will HONOR them and SERVE them because of what THEY have done for us raising us UP during our childhood days, and in GRATITUDE for that, we serve them and HONOR them. It's like a PARENT and Child relationship. That's why it's impossible to claim to LOVE God without being "BORN AGAIN", because GOD is Spirit. WE MUST be BORN AGAIN to be able to have that OBEDIENCE...as what the title says "Cannot Obey God without God"...The FLESH will be FLESH, but the Spirit will do the things The SPIRIT's way. God let Your blessing overtake me as You have promised in Deuteronomy 28:2-13, because I obey You. God anchor me in obedience. God all that I have asked of You in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of this prayer and all those I love and care about. Holy Spirit help each of us to trust God and walk in obedience to God even when it is hard, or we don't want to. God anchor us in obedience unto You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. About that which is flesh and that which is spirit, they are inseparable. It is only because we are ignorant of the nature, love and mercy of Our Lord that we cannot see that we are also spirit.
Let's not go too far with musings on what God wants, or doesn't want us to do and, instead, in secret pray to Our Heavenly Father to lead us to the light, to invest us with His mercy so that we may do His work here on Earth.
Some may feel that it does not matter what we choose to do. To make wise decisions that please God
however, we must consider the laws and principles found in his written word the bible and comply with
them. Prayer will help us make decisions that relate to scriptural principles and laws. Weighty personal
decisions can have quite a bearing on our spiritual health and wellfare. Every choice we make will likely
affect our relationship with God----either for good or for bad. A good decision based on what we read in
God's word, will strengthen our relationship with God, whereas a a bad one may damage it. Moreover, a
poor decision could injure others spiritually by disturbing, or even stumbling them. Indeed, our personal
decisions do matter. Romans 14 v 19.
