For my 21xt I went the DIY route for footpeg lowering using 6mm mild-steel plate. It was trickier than I expected to get the angles and holes correct, had to return many times to the bike to orient things correctly when designing them. In the end, pegs dropped by 25mm and moved forward same amount. Gear shift adjustment was easy, simply meant rotating the lever on the splines. For the rear brakes, I used a long coupling nut to lengthen the rod. Perfect results and what a huge difference in made to overall feel and comfort whilst riding. I could have bought the lowering kit but didn't want to wait 3 to 4 weeks for it arrive, and pay all that shipping for something quite small.
That is really cool that there is a seat, footpeg and bar kit available for the bike. I'm looking forward to you test riding them to see how it all works together.
Just fitted a set of those peg lowering brackets. It was actually easier than I anticipated. That black wire you were so worried about is actually just the brake light switch, and reconnecting that (or rather its spring) was the hardest bit of the whole thing. It is cold and throwing it down at the moment so I haven't tested them to see what the new ride is like.
I fitted Rox risers to my Tiger, they are adjustable so I’ve made them perfect for me! You can often find a local guy who can reupholster bike seats with extra padding and gel packs etc, much cheaper than a new one.
Good to acknowledge your limits. Not worth risking it. Have a look at shorter dogbones too, I put them on my '08 V Strom, raised the seat about 20mm and gives you more ground clearance. Not sure how they go on your model.
@@PaddyOutback for me the only downside is the bike leans over more on the side stand and rear tyre doesn't quite come of the ground on centre stand. Not major but thought you should know.
If your not comfortable it is always better to have an experienced mechanic do it. Last thing you want is to pull the ABS line too far and then your warranty is void. Good stuff mate, ride safe and I hope it brings a better ride!
This is something I would definitely look into if I wanted to keep my fazer long term, the magna will be changing a lot soon anyway :) You're not useless man :D Always the option to watch the dealers if they'd let ya and know how to do it next time :) I got a ultimate addons case myself, I do like the look of the quadlock.
Definitely worthwhile if you’re hanging on to it. The seat and bars have made a world of difference already. Pegs get done on Thursday. I’d watch but the dealer always give me a loaner bike so I’ll be riding that instead!
I'm looking for bar risers for my 2019 650xt, i want higher and closer to me. How much slack is left on your cables? would it handle more? also, coul you link me to your risers? Thanks!!
The risers are by a company called RXT. I bought them at my local Suzuki dealer and they're universal for for any 7/8" setup like the Strom. There is still a bit of slack left with the 25mm rise however if ypu were to go any more, it may require work on the cables.
@@PaddyOutback So no issues with cables at 25mm then? I realize I’m late to the party here, but I can’t seem to find a solid answer anywhere, and my shoulders are killing me after a full day riding.
paddy next time you want to do some thing jump on youtube and see if there is a video on it before you pay some one mate thats what i do cheers and ride safe 👍👍👍

The pegs are getting done on Thursday so I’ll post an update then!
Looking forward to it mate! :-)

Hope you have managed to test them out by now. I found they made a nice difference for me. My knees were less bent, making it more comfy for me!

Nobody that I know of around here that does that, unfortunately. Nearest place is the Sunshine Coast- 800 miles away 😩

I’m sure there’s something similar for the ‘17 on. I must look them up. Thanks for the tip man.

And it’s always good to know what you don’t know!
when you put the spacers did the cables from the steering wheel reach the height?
No, didn’t have any problem with the cables.
well what is the name of the all the parts you bought? 6'6" 36" inseam here
Neat video thanks Malcolm
2 out of 3 aint bad, at least you tried!!
I need that seat for my bike, looks so comfortable 😃👍
It definitely is man. Well worth the cash.
The meatloaf comment got me hahahaha 😂
Great vid. A man needs to know his limitations. ( Clint Eastwood the great American philosopher)

paid 500 + for a decent seat, 300 seems pretty good to me. You can do it Paddy, have a break and have another go at it later.
I’ll concede defeat on the pegs I’m afraid. Not my strong suit.
Very interesting thanks, do you mind if I ask what height you are?
6' 3½".
I had to go back to this video to check. How many mm are those bar risers?
25mm.

@@PaddyOutback Thanks for the info!
Hi whats the bar riser size?...
7/8" bar risers, 20mm lift.

That’s what I thought.. any thing above that make the cables more stressed. Thanks

Meatloaf!😁 you'll be comfy as soon. 🍻
Definitely. Will make a big difference on longer rides.
Yeah $300 for the new seat is very good. Bugger I was just about to say that!
Not bad, especially for a genuine Suzuki part!
How tall are you Paddy?
Just shy of 6’ 4”.
How tall are you mate?
6' 3 1/2" or 192cm if you prefer.
2 outta 3 ain't bad... "Use of a hammer is ONLY for Chinese bikes"... Please do not attempt this at all....! ;)
It’s a V-Strom mate. I could probably whack it with a hammer and it’d probably be fine!
