Just stumbled in here! I'm glad to see the love for the wip! 2:03 kinda slaps? :o
I went into my folders to check which iteration of the song this was. I had made 16 different demos before landing on the final version. This was version nr 5 I believe.
Some early versions had way more techy electro parts. Others had different riffs and stuff. At one point I slowed down the song because I thought it sounded too hectic, but Hakita was like... "nah man fast is better" lol. So breakneck speed it was.

omg hi meganeko! i got a question, what is the voice in the background of certain parts (like 0:43 - 0:56) saying? I kinda hear "danger" and "do it" at some point, am I right? or is it just gibberish :0?
i find the more hectic nature of this version very interesting! it's very much a cool peek into the inbetween of "this is a concept" to "this is a finished song"
@@SubatomicScale It's essentially gibberish. I ran a funeral poem in latin (Catullus 101) though text-to-speech software, into a vocoder. And then shuffled it around.
Interesting how this sounds a lot more like meganeko's other work than the final song does

It still fucks as the first version of the song, tho I can see why they wanted another version. The new one sounds more meaty on the electronica side and filthier with the guitar riffs especially with the lower tuning/key

After being only able to listen to it on Hakita's Cybergridn demoplay, I can't help but hear Swordsmachine's big pain sound on that part.

If the cyber grind were a Sonic stage, this would likely be the Act 2 theme and I love it because of that.

1:05 and 2:53 I think are the only unchanged section in this song. However In the normal version of cyber grind 1:05 plays at around 1:02 instead. 1:40 is similar but I think it has more percussion than the original. I really wish 1:52 was in original that little section sounds so cool
the little riff to cap off the metal section at 2:20 is so eargasmic and it sucks that it didn't make the cut
The best way I could describe this is like Splatoon 1 Music V.S. Splatoon 2 music. (the Splatoon 1 being this one and Splatoon 2 being the final release)
More bassboost actually fits really well.

I'd love to see an "Alt" mix of the Cybergrind theme to be based on the more techy electro theme of the early version

This sounds like the theme for some cracked out version of the cybergrind. Maybe in the future, we could get an alternate version of the cybergrind that uses a more polished version of this as the background music.

This goes harder than the new one, but I think I see why they removed it. It’s sounds a little too happy and is far too distracting. They nailed the drop and the sound effects that play in the music, but overall it feels like an intense rave rather than a killing spree theme.

I've been wanting to find an alternate version of this theme for a while. All I knew was the masterpiece produced by the god-king Meganeko, and I wanted something like this whether it be a remix or not, and now I've found it! Hoorah!
It would be cool if there was a chance that the normal song would switch to this one for a bit as an alternate version after some time kinda like the songs in Payday 2
It would rip everyone a new butthole if all the completed versions played in full on shuffle during the grind.

I think this version fits better for the energetic aspect of the Cyber Grind, but the current one better fits the killing spree aspect of the Cyber Grind much better
I'd still love for this to be used but that is definitely just because I want to hear 2:02 in game
