Fun fact: the station name Roquetes was already allocated to another station on line 4. In 1992 this station on line 4 was renamed Via Julia so this station could be called Roquetes. Fun Fact 2: When it openend in 2008 it was the deepest station in Barcelona with platforms 50m below street level. Fun fact 3: it has plastic Love Seats for some intimate cuddles or kisses? :)
The name change reminds me of Dubai's "Sharaf DG" station name which belonged to a different metro station a few years ago. But in Dubai it was a naming rights issue. The seats have indeed an interesting design! I guess in a few years you will be able to reserve the best platform seats online in advance, just like in a movie theater, as an additional source of income for the public transport companies...😄
