I agree and plus one to this being my favorite channel. I watched two videos on this topic before yours and it was rando’s recording their screens while stream of consciousness talking. It is clear that you plan your videos with a great script, research and post production graphics. Thanks for what you do!
I also retired in 2017 and live off my portfolio too! I always owned the highest percentage ETFs I could find with few exceptions. Last year 2023 in August I started with YieldMax adding FEPI and AIPI also added all the ones you are now reviewing plus PLTY, SMCY, YETH, RDTE YMAX. Portfolio up over $240,000 YTD with adding this action but ready to adjust when Bitcoin retreats.
Thanks for sharing your story. That's an aggressive approach! I hope you're also considering total return and the NAV trend (ie avoid NAV erosion). High yield can be good or bad, it depends on how they make the yield and how sustainable it is. Congrats on your retirement and enjoy those dividends!
Thank you Mr Armchair. Was just thinking about all these new Bitcoin Income ETFs the other day. I like the look of MAXI and BTCI. It will be interesting to see how they go.
Another timely banger video! Love MAXI & just added a bit of BITO. These breakdowns are helping a lot of folks out there like myself for sure! Thanks from Da Nang
As always an excellent summary! While a short time period, BTCI since inception date has a better Sharpe & Sortino Ratio than the others, who existed when BTCI was created.
For the Bitcoin income curious, like me, this is an outstanding analysis, once again delivered with a clarity, good humor and even tone that gives us the facts to add this to the portfolio. Thx!
Roundhill applied for a weekly-pay MSTR covered call ETF. In my opinion, it would be the holy grail of income investments. Last time I checked, it is still stuck on the SEC database awaiting approval (hopefully).
Hello sir. I’m just getting to watch your newest video about bitcoin, been under the weather. Well done….. I like the way that you included the spot ETF for bitcoin and micro strategy as a possible holding as well. I too think I will get to a 5% level and think I’ll try to hold an investment in the spot ETF as well for longer term growth. I watched an interesting video recently that showed what has been a four year cycle with bitcoin since inception I’ll try to share that he seemed knowledgeable and has quite a following. Thank you for jumping into this pool the video seems to have a high rate of views!!! In what could be a slow churn the next four years this area shows promise….. we’ll see. Cheers and thank you!
Thanks for your feedback. Difficult to predict what will happen with Bitcoin. I think the bigger question is whether you want exposure to it or not. At this point, I'd rather have some than none.
I like NEOS too but I only buy the funds that fit my investing philosophy. I have quite a few of their funds, but not all. I'm waiting a bit longer before jumping into BTCI. Looks good so far.
@@armchairincomechannel Is there any advantage of BTCI over MAXI? From what I could tell MAXI has more history but besides that BTCI didn't seem to have any tax advantages etc.
They're all so new that there isn't much data to judge performance. At this early stage I'm holding MAXI (and keeping an eye on BTCI because NEOS does a good job with their other ETFs). As the asset class grows I'll adjust based on performance.
Using the logic you mentioned at the end of this video, I opened a small MSTY position. Given the volatility of bitcoin, I know it may drop 50 to 70%, but if I’m receiving huge distributions, I will minimized my losses and juiced up the monthly income at the same time.
I don't hold MSTY but I understand why people do. However, as a high risk bet, I will be on the lookout for some MSTR next time it corrects. I don't mind an income fund underperforming the underlying stock a little bit, but the gap is too wide for me on that one. Either way, I hope they both go to the moon!
Do you see a big diffrenz between MPV - MCI? MPV has a smaler premium and at the moment a liitle bigger dividend. Just looked at both the last days. Track record from 1971 is realy a long time.
I'm not familiar with MPV. Given its long history its worth comparing to MCI. Their long term performance is similar although when I compared Total Return over the max period on Seeking Alpha, MCI had a higher TR.
Glad it was helpful, but please take all the credit/beer/Teslas for yourself as you reviewed a lot of stuff and chose to buy what's good for you. Also...if BTC crashes 90% tomorrow I can't send that shiny new Tesla back ;)
I was looking for information about BTCI yesterday but found very little except on NEOS home page, so this video is perfect timing. Thanks. Do you happen to know if BTCI will have any tax advantages like SPYI?
I don't have a precise answer and the fund is too young to have produced financial statements yet. Generally, a large chunk of the favorable ROC generated by SPYI comes from trading index options and BTCI doesn't do that so I don't expect it to be nearly as tax efficient as SPYI. Having said that, NEOS is eager to put a Bitcoin index to work in the fund if/when one gets approved and that would most likely increase the tax efficiency. If I do an interview with Garrett from NEOS about BTCI then I will ask him your question.
Too early to tell. MAXI and BITO have similar performance. BTCI looks interesting but it's too early to know how it navigates the ups and downs of Bitcoin price movement.
Just curious, you mentioned possibly adding MSTR when it corrects, but MSTR does not pay a dividend. Are you looking at it as a growth vehilce vs. income?
You pay attention to the details. You're right, MSTR is outside my income strategy. I don't normally invest in growth but if it corrects substantially (who know if that will happen) then I think it would rebound with more velocity than any other stock, which presents an opportunity to catch it on the up. However, I'm still an income investor and wouldn't hold it for the long term, nor would it be a huge bet.
To some extent, yes. However, Coinbase could be affected by factors outside of Bitcoin. For example, a new regulation affecting stablecoins might affect Coinbase but not Bitcoin.
Well, I went in with a little over 1% of total Portfolio today on the drop of MAXI. Interestingly, in Snowball, the forward looking div is $0.15/Share..... I'll hold for a while and watch closely
Thanks for sharing. For a variable dividend fund like this, any forward estimates are just based on the past, which doesn't tell us much. $0.15 was the most frequent distribution but that was because it was managed that way. Going forward....anybody's guesss!
Great and timely info. I hope you are enjoying BKK. It is at the top of my list for my upcoming retirement. How do you like BKK compared to where you actually live in Thailand. Thanks as always!
BKK offers amazing food, excellent hotels, I'm a fan. I visit often. I live in a quieter area so it's always exciting to visit the big city. For permanent residency I prefer somewhere with less traffic.
Wow! This is a very complicated product. Thanks for giving us your take on this area of investing. I understand your logic on investing in MAXI. Do you foresee yourself investing in BTCI in the immediate future?
They pay a minimum of 15 center per share and toward the end of the year, if the Bitcoin futures trading has been profitable, they more than that. I don't see how that's a problem for a dividend investor. The 15 cent payouts are modest and the end of year payouts have been enormous.
Thank you. All neos etfs are available at the Brazilian stock market with mirrored etfs. Soon they will have coin11 which mirrors neos bi@armchairincomechannel
You have a fantastic channel. All neos etfs are available in the Brazilian stock market via Buena vista. Tickers: spyi11 qqqi11 and soon coin11 (same as btci). They are mirrors but invest in actual cousin etfs in USA. Good tax advantage
It's been raining dibidends recently :) I don't know the optimal pronounciation for NEOS. Perhaps its my Aussie accent that skews it a bit from ohhhhs to ossss.
That's a tricky one. Given that it's leveraged 2X, it's not exactly a level playing field. It was challenging to explain 6 ETF's so I had to cut the number off somewhere. You have a point though....it does pay income.

Thank you Mr Armchair. Was just thinking about all these new Bitcoin Income ETFs the other day. I like the look of MAXI and BTCI. It will be interesting to see how they go.
You're most welcome. It's early days and an interesting asset class.
Hey Bitx is a 2x bitcoin etf but it pays a dividend.... it's monthly and about 20% a year plus asset appreciation
Yes, it was a tricky decision as to whether to include that one as the 2x leverage make it more extreme.

Thanks! Lunch is tomorrow :)
@@armchairincomechannel that pesky dateline always confuses me,
BITO has the advantage of having a liquid option chain. So you can boost your yield by wheeling it.
That's true. Option traders are busy with BITO, IBIT and MSTR but of the 3, only BITO offers distributions.
Another great video! But which one do you like the best(and I know this is not financial advice)…would just like your knowledgeable opinion sir!
They're all so new that there isn't much data to judge performance. At this early stage I'm holding MAXI (and keeping an eye on BTCI because NEOS does a good job with their other ETFs). As the asset class grows I'll adjust based on performance.
@ i am holding MAXI and also looking at BTCI also….thanks!
What will perform better in a down or sideways market and have the least nav erosion, would make the best longer term hold.
A spot ETF like IBIT would have the least NAV erosion. As for market ups and downs, these will all be a crazy wild ride.
Could you review GLDI?
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll take a look. The long term price trend is a concern but I'll add it to the list of funds to investigate.
