Yummy colours and paints, but... much prefer them on the black paper than the white, but I notice lots of the comments below have asked what they would like look as a final coat over pencil in a colour book. I have to admit that that is what I would use them for, not too keen on how they look on the white paper. As always fab review, tfs xo
I was stupid enough to buy the sets. All of them bar one but colours are repeated so be aware if you buy sets that you may get doubles. If I had my time over and knew I could get singles in Australia I’d buy sets but then purchase singles and an empty box to add the ones I didn’t have. I found I ended up with 7 doubles 🙄and at least I didn’t buy the very light set or I’d have even more doubles. I love them esp on greyscale books. Linda Ravenscroft books are fabulous to use them on. 🙏Claire.🌹
Hi Claire, Thanks so much, I was about to embark on the journey of researching metallic watercolours to find the ones I wanted. Your video was the first one I watched. Really informative! I'm now going to buy some of those beautiful paints, just perfect for my project! The black colouring book is wonderful. ☀️
Love these, i have the double row of these Finetec but each are smaller then this one so i've bought both and the one of Fairies is absolutely Stunning! Thank You Claire, i ddin't know Spectrum Noir have some tags like you've show hummm! Interesting LOL!
Hi Claire love you videos and I have just ordered my first Finetec metallic colours and I can’t for them to arrive. I know this post is from a few years ago but can you tell me where you got the back cards from? X x x
Claire, someone in America has asked me if these paints go on over coloured pencils. I don't know because so far I have resisted the temptation to buy them. Can you help please?🤔
I have been wanting these for months, ever since I saw you use them on a colouring page!! Do you have preference between these and kuratake? I'm guessing these are better investment even though they are more expensive... just based on reviews? I have nothing like this at the moment.
Had to come back to this review after I watched your new Tutorial: How to Colour a Honeycomb Background You used the arabic gold from this set on white Paper in the tutorial and I was flashed how opaque and how bright the colour is. It doesn't nearly look like that here in the tutorial. Did you just figured out a better waterratio to use or how long the water should be on the paint to loosen the pigments beforehand? Maybe it's just a different camera angle or lightening, but they look really much brighter and more opaque in the tutorial.
I have painted with watercolors for over 40 years, it's truly my favorite media. With any kind of watercolor you do need to add the water, letting it penetrate into the dried watercolor, mixing the water around onto the paint a little. That way the longer that the water has absorbed into the paint, the better the paint will look, Mixing it one more time before laying down on your paper on both white and black paper, it will look Beautiful! And also in between each coating of paint you need to let the paint dry, if you don't than you will be pulling most of all the paint that you have just laid down on to your picture. But remember the more water that you lay down on your paint, the thinner it will look on paper, or not giving it time to penetrate. Claire that is one of the reasons that it did look a lot better on the black paper. I'm not trying to contradicted myself saying this Claire, But it does also always look good on black paper because of the contrast of the dark paper. I Love all of Claire's tutorials, you are very talented in all of your art gallery and that you do. I just started using colored pencils 32about 2 years ago again, sending all my Love and Blessing to all of our coloring friends.
Oh nooo! I kept telling myself "you don't need these - no, you don't!", but now I know I DO need them! Thank you very much Claire! 🙄🤗😋
They are absolutely gorgeous, I've just looked at the whole range. Unbelievable!

I liked those shiny watercolors
I got it now thank you
I can see coloring your picture as usual, then using these as a top coat. I think that would be lovely.
JetPens sells them open stock and sets also. JetPens is a wonderful company so I thought I would just give them a little plug.
Susan Hamilton I adore jetpens!!
beautiful paints

Spectrum Noir
You used the paint wrongly, you had to spread the water until it thickened. anyway, I loved the video and thanks for putting the site link
Where does mica come from ?

These are the best imo x
Thanks for the review, have you tested them on top of color pencils as highlights?
I haven't! Will have to try that x
where did you find the labels? I have all of the colors and need labels!
They’re about 10p on the finetec site!

It could be the angle as that makes all the difference. Use less water for more opaque look xx
