    Beethoven à son meilleur. Il parle, nous écoutons. Il nous émeut toujours. Merci M.Sokolov pour votre incarnation de cette divine musique.

    I don't know Sokolov at all well - yet! What a serious find he is, how wonderful to discover a performer interpreting as if by magic . . .

    • @stonefireice6058
      @stonefireice6058 2 года назад +5

      Good start! He is the best, well known in Europe in Asia, but not much in the USA. As Van Clibourn he won Tchaikovsky competition,much later though. Emil Gilels was his mentor and friend, but he definitely has his own style.

    The absolute precision of that trill at 6:00 I just a perfect illustration of why Sokolov plays in his own league

      @@mackiceicukice you're welcome. I actually agree with you on that, although his trills are superb, there's a lot more going on in this sonata which really stands out.

      He’s got an enormous technique, quite beyond what the usual suspects are able to provide (and, then, only as a form of amusement it seems).

    The best interpretation of this piece, so subtle!

  • @JBorda
    @JBorda Год назад +1

    How difficult is it to say or listen to " this is the best interpretation" or "best pianist ever". In reality, there is a group of selected super -humans upthere, and categorizing them could be just a matter of taste...but even then is difficult. Such unique performance talents.
    When we speak about Beethoven, different case, yes he can be the one and only.

    A wonderful performance of one of my favourite piano pieces. Especially the first movement, unhurried, the beauty of each note clearly articulated with not too much pedal. So many other pianists seem to rush through

      Beethooven marked Presto for this movement. Presto in Italian means fast, very quickly. This movement should be played fast. You didn’t have to blame or compare other pianists in order to just admire Sokolov’s playing.

    Started learning this song from one of my Dad's old college books and then I decide to listen to it after learning the first page. This is me just now discovering that it's an almost thirty minute long piece and abandoning ship.

    Wie so viele andere seiner Interpretationen legt Gregori Sokolov auch diese junge bis mittlere Beethoven-Sonate zu meditativ, ja, zu grüblerisch an und lässt dabei jenen geschlossen nach vorne weisenden Drang außer acht, den vergleicheisweise Sviatoslav Richter, bis heute unübertroffen, zum Ausdruck bringt.
