Your voice has a quality I really like. I'm not sure I've found the right words, but some I've thought of are: rich, earthy, quiet storytelling, warm, engaging, expressive, easy to understand the words - still thinking. The singer should support the message of the song, and you do that. I know very little about the mechanics of production - can you play what you did without the percussion? For me (and probably only me), the percussion was too perky for a deeply thoughtful song - it continued through the song like a train passing by without matching the nuances in the message of the song. I also got distracted by the echoing vocals with a different quality to your voice when I really wanted to hold on to the main sound of your voice and follow the meaning of the lyrics. I would also mess with the video a bit, but not the main one of you singing unless I made it bigger. I'm close to wishing I could hear you sing it acapella.

Hi Mary thanks for the compliments on my voice. I've worked really hard on it. It's come a long way from around 2015 until now thanks to an amazing voice coach named Dr. Tom Blaylock. Regarding the drums, you hit it on the head! This is one of my first attempts at "mixing" my own track WITHOUT a professionals (Bob's) help. Inevitably there are going to be errors along the way. Trust me when I say though that this is MUCH better than some of my earlier attempts at doing all of the work myself lol. The "team" behind a song, especially for some of the artists that are household names, can consist of 20-50 or more people. Instrumentalists, producers, mixers, engineers, songwriters... sometimes two people fill the same role, sometimes not. When you are an independent like myself right now, it's important I learn at least the basic tenets of each roll.
