Okay hear me out, Rich Paul negotiates the first player-to-coach contract. LeBron signs a 2-year player contract then transitions into the 6-year coaching contract. Reddick is a filler for the next two years and moves under LeCoach and becomes his assistant when the time comes... And while all that's going on the Lakers draft Bronny. great idea. just that lebron would prefer player-owner duality vs. player-coach. don't get me wrong, he is practically a pseudo coach wherever he goes but he doesnt want the scrutiny that comes along with the title of actually being a coach. when coaches are getting fired after winning coach of the year, making finals appearances etc. lebron doesnt stand a chance and probably doesnt want "fired" as a stain on his resume/legacy.

If JJ gets hired, there's a zero percent chance he takes that job without some serious assistant firepower behind him. JJ knows the game. He wasn't a star, he learned more because of him being a role player and basketball junkie. I think JJ is too smart not to lean on a strong assistant coach staff. JJ must have some talent if the dude who just won the chip had him on a short list for assistant coach in Boston.
At this point, you have to try it out and see if it works. Of course the better sexier pick would have been Hurley, but he wants to stay at UConn. Get JJ, test him out, if he stinks, the Lakers have money to burn and they circle back to Hurley. People change their mind.

( ) Let's hire someone who has never coached on any level.
Lakers can mark a check on that one.

This JJ Redick saga though... the worst kept coaching coup ever! The whole experience is being set-up for the most precipitous fall from grace for a bunch o' people involved with this sham!

I question Reddick's insight just based on the idiotic takes he has on his podcast....he undermined MJ's greatness, saying the league was watered down. Nonsense.

Redick is trash, im a Laker fan 40+ years. I think Cassell should be the coach. Klutch and Lebron pleaase leave. Redick go to the Pistons

J.J. would be crazy to take the lakers job. He has young children. Doesn't he still live in Brooklyn? Does his wife really want to move to the other coast? Does J.J. really want to spend most of the year away from his children?
