But, why would Ethan want to kill his father? And, why would he show zero recognition of his sister, Julie? Love your theories, but I do disagree with this one.
It’s a serpent eating its tail theory. Ie Paradox. Similar to the stories in Dark and 12 Monkeys. Ethan breaks bad when his father dies. If his father doesn’t die he doesn’t become the man in yellow. Hence the man in yellow kills his father to ensure he becomes the man in yellow. Time isnt linear when time travel exists and the lines are blurred as to what came first chicken or egg.

I was thinking this too. Him wearing yellow 98% of the time since season 1 is a hint at that. Plus this town is built like something from his imagination. He seems to know the story already. The town is built like a childs imagination with the plugs and no wiring in the cables and cords. Plus everyone that has random seizures is tied in with the dark forces (Sarah, Elgin and Ethan).
@ Are you a child? Emojis on every comment? What are you 12 years old? Ethan is one theory. Randall is another. MIY being reincarnated is another. MIY being in his original form as the man we saw is also possible. Being an entity that can inhabit ppl can also be theorized. As it is now we know nothing for sure. That's why we all theorize. I would never take what the voices say of value, even Christopher yelled at the biw recognizing deceit. So I will remain with the belief the message was directed to Ethan as a source of truth and knowledge in the town.
We pretty much know that the drowned women was the one talking to Sarah in season one, because she says the same things to Elgin. We also know she's on team monsters. Also remember that 12 bottle notes = 12 musical notes, even though Jade points out that this doesn't really make sense and could more easily be figured out in any other way, then suddenly remembers the whole song without having been given the information to do so. The series is so cryptic that anything could mean anything, with huge portions of information absent entirely. It only needs to kinda make sense at the end.
Just thought of this and might be a crazy theory but the man in yellow could be a reincarnation of Boyd. Boyd is the sheriff and we can assume that other reincarnations of him would also want to run the town. We always assume the man in yellow is a monster but what if the man in yellow is who keeps order between the people and the monster? Maybe when the monsters said they will break boyd, they meant that they'll make him "give up" and try and keep the town inline and from finding out too much and work with the monsters.
I hate this theory with the passion of a million sons. Why would the man in yellow be someone from the town that comes back like 70 years after to kill jim. And miy doesn’t seem futuristic at all. Didn’t the story originate in the past? Why would someone from the future give much of a crap?
I like this idea b/c Im sorry I dont trust little Ethan AT ALL. He's the same one that wanted "Tingin" back but when he realizes that his very sister is a story traveler he "shuts down the idea" of her being able to change anything. If he was this innocent little boy he would jump at any chance to change the situation and bring anyone back -esp that raggedy goat he risked everyone over!
So, I rewatched season 1, episode 1, after hearing on several occasions that the answers are there. Several things caught my attention: 1. Norman's (Ethan's finger toy) death and Ethan's reaction. He said the Fays from the Lake of Tears would save Norman. 2. Ethan's reaction when the family faced the fallen tree on the road. He said, "Why don't we move it?" I think that will be important. 3. This is, I believe, the most important clue. This whole time, Julie was wearing a t-shirt with a three-eyed bunny or some other animal. Below it, "illusions" was written. May be everything is just an illusion, happening inside Ethan's imagination. That explains how he knows so much about the mechanics of what's going on in Fromville. The ending of season 3 made that certain for me. Another clue that all is just a made-up world in some kid's mind is from season 1, when they were talking and digging the hole in the basement. The fact that the cables went nowhere and there was no wire inside them may be an indication that whoever made this place did not exactly know how electricity works.
It's a possibility, but I have other characters also being the MIY as more likely. However, Ethan does wear a lot of yellow, and he seems to know a lot of stuff from out of nowhere. There's more to Ethan that meets the eye; it's just a matter of what that is. And as for people saying that Ethan being the MIY being too unbelievable, if we were told a year ago that Fatima was going to give birth to Smiley, we would tell them they are being ridiculous. And look what happened. At this point, maybe almost anything could happen in this show.
I like this theory...Ethan is always scowling I believe Ethan ends up being the only survivor like the weird guy.with lunch box, and was probably left there by a decision Jim made leading to everyone's death...yeah Ethan helped his mom dig the hole but he's good now and doesn't know his future self yet. Also why did the writers make a point to show Ethan telll Sara he wasn't afraid of her or anything anymore...that's when the scowling started...last but not least he's figuring out everything as if he knows already but doesn't ...go back look at the whole convo between Jim and the man in yellow..it's personal...but why...if Tabitha and the other dude are the ones being reincarnated
At first I thought that victor is the one that created all of this, but I do believe it’s Ethan, Ethan is having a horrible dream being unconscious, maybe in a coma. The Rv crash did happen, Ethan is sent to the hospital. When jade and Tabitha work out how to save themselves, and everyone else, Then Ethan wakes up and he is in hospital, and the horrible dream will be broken, everyone is saved. Its all been a nightmare (a horrible dream) The people that are in the town are at the hospital, for eg Kristi is Ethan’s doctor, Jade, and his friend are in hospital too for their injuries. The others could be other doctors, nurses, patient’s eg the boy in white, young victor are in the children’s ward at the hospital, medics, police officers, the others could be family membes, orderlies, cleaners etc. I believe The hospital is called Mabusa. Yes the man in yellow could be Ethan. Just some theories I wanted to share. I believe it goes something like this.
We do know of at least one other kid who was in Fromville - the little girl who died in the first scene of the first episode. Also, regarding Julie being a story-walker/time traveler: I have this weird theory that maybe it was her who called Jim and Tabitha when Thomas died - probably as an attempt to prevent them from going to Fromville or to get them a message but inadvertently causing Thomas's death instead. I've always wondered who it was that actually made that call, and perhaps she figured out a way to contact the real world even if she couldn't physically go there. Or maybe I'm just reaching...
Maybe Ethan is victor and the man in yellow. He somehow split, and one side is innocent and has no control other than to keep existing and the other half is the man in yellow who seems to be in charge and and just wants to keep playing. I rewatched the first couple episodes and in the first episode Ethan has a seizure and sees through victors eyes. Kind of like how Tabitha had her visions of victors mom. Also, before they see the tree and Julie and Ethan are playing with the finger toys, Julie says they are dead, and Tabitha says they aren’t so just keep playing with them. Maybe that’s why all of this has happened. People keep coming back, as either towns folk or monsters, because he wants to keep playing. Julie could def, be part of why Ethan goes dark or splits. I’m not sure how that would tie into Tabitha and jade and the ankooey kids. It would explain why the voices wanted Sarah to kill the kid tho. He can’t confront both entities without screwing things up. And I think there is a much bigger entity than the man in yellow.
Tabitha is Victor's mom. Maybe Victor's mom was reflected on the glass of the hospital window in the last episode of season 2. Do you remember that scene? Hope all clues connect with each other at the end of the story.
The Man in Yellow is not Ethan because the Bad Entity ask Sarah to kill Ethan. It's also mean that Ethan is very important Good character that can destroy the Bad Entity, that's why the Bad Entity feel the urgency to kill him ASAP so they use this method of getting on someone head (Sarah) instead of just make the zombie to just try chase Ethan. Boyd on the other seems weird. It feels like the Bad Entity try to guide him. When Boyd looking for signal to make a journey to the forest, it give him the signal by playing some music on the radio. Good Entity try to stop Boyd by getting into Sarah mind (takeover the Bad Entity when they near the bottle tree), and tell Sarah that she is wrong and they should not be in the forest cause it's dangerous and they have to go back
In season 2 episode 8 when Tabitha asked Victor why he didn’t tell Jade about the symbol in the tunnel…. He said he didn’t tell him because when people go looking for information, they come up missing, so I think the MIY would’ve should up anyway.
If you listen to what the creators said about who inspired the man in yellow it sounds like he’s the future of the boy in white. Boy in white has been getting older and is starting to change.
Before I even watch this video, i have to ask why would Ethan kill his father, and when did Ethan tell warn his father against his mom digging a hole in the basement, a hole that Ethan helped build?
The town monsters changed every time Boyd changed something. Ethan seems like the living embodiment of, the boy in white. The town gives and the town takes. Saving Ellis freed the man in yellow. I haven’t heard it brought up, why does Victor get a free pass from the monsters? He enters the caves multiple times with no harm coming to him. Does he play a role that we haven’t learned yet or is it possible, Victor, by surviving the massacre, is exempt from this loop, an anomaly that is no longer an active participant?
I thought the same thing too at first but it doesn't fit because at first I thought the man in yellow walked with a little bit of a limp but I went back and watched he doesn't and it doesn't make any sense for Ethan to kill his dad so I think the boy in White and the man in yellow are father and son and this is like a cosmic game of chess between Father and son good and evil because the whole from story plan has reference chest and Father and son relationships through the whole thing
Its def an option and there is some evidence for it too. Ever since Ethan had his "seizure" in ep1 in the RV (same place MIY revealed himself) hes been able to see BIW and has had "insider" information on this town. He also has worn yellow on several occasions. I'm not 100% sold on it but it def could be.
The fans of From are a lot like an actual Fromily. I see the deep thinkers, the a holes to people for no reason, the know it alls and more. I feel like I’m back and my grandmas for Christmas where the narcissists and the empaths all join together in harmony for one day, that always ends in disaster. Now that we set boundaries for the sociopathic, self centered know it alls for the family, it’s been a smaller, but much more enjoyable Christmas each year. I’d love to see a channel where the open minded entertain all ideas, even when they are absurd, that’s because in From, nothing is absurd and out of the realm of possibility. Whether I agree or disagree, I like to keep it all open in my mind just in case. Some other creators cleaned house and it’s a loving Fromily now that have a lot of fun throwing around all sorts of entertaining possibilities. You, as a content creator, need to decide what kind of Fromily you want here on your platform.
Honestly I don't think it will be Ethan who is the man in yellow. I am sure he would have alluded to himself being Ethan when killing Jim. Or made some kind of remark to make you think he could be Ethan.
What if Ethan is the man in yellow, but in the same way that Tabitha is Miranda. It would be interesting if his whole narrative arc is to usurp the man in yellow and to be better version of him, thereby freeing everyone.
Here's a better question. Is Ethan a reality manipulating mutant like Franklin Richards because how would he be able to create this story and affect events in the past that happened before he was ever born like Victor's arrival in the town or the sacrifice of the angkhooeey kids? What about Tabitha's dreams she had as a child that took place before she ever stepped foot in the town? It's not making a whole lot of sense.
I considered that too, however! I’d be more inclined to select Boyd! Same tattoo on right arm, both in the marines, both carry worms, both asked to someone to end them, and both knew who Abby was! It’s a stretch but we can say there were too many similarities
I’m re watching season 1 and 2 and Ethan definitely wearing yellow a lot..also the house they lived in the town I believe could have been the man in yellow house and he got mad they was digging that hole in his house
Why suddenly are people like Y must be X when X is alive, Y we assume is alive, and Y existed before X. It's just so weird. I am certain the Yellow Man is one of the fey the people of the town made the deal with for immortality. The explanation of Ethan knowing things is he is a child and very likely a past resident reincarnated. His stories are memories. His mother forgot her stories or dismissed there as her childhood fantasies or dreams. Ethan being a child has no reason not to tell his stories, people will just think he's being a kid, where as his mom would be thought a loonatic. Sarah was supposed to kill Ethan and Jade, but she failed. Ethan because he remembers the past as stories and Jade as we seen was relentless to figure things out and can play the song. If both were killed in season one episode one, the people would never have learned anything.
It kind of sounds like you are borrowing what happens in another show with time travel and projecting it into this one. I won’t name it here to avoid spoilers. However I don’t see why it would apply here.
3:16 it's not that this has already happened it's once she became a story Walker now she can know anybody from any point in time with still everything that's happening now being new
I’ve been saying Ethan was the bad ever since s1 when Julie saved Norman and ethan had a look of disbelief then he looked out window and saw a smiling biw then Ethan cracked half a smile ever since then I’ve felt like it’s more to Ethan and when MIY showed up I said on multiple streams that’s Ethan so to hear u say the same is awesome
I feel like it can't be a current person. We DONT know how main generations have passed since the deal. But Ethan is MINIMUM 3 generation through a reincarnation process. It causes a very ugly time travel issue. Ethan wouldn't be this person if he didn't grow up in FROMVILLE. We are saying the MIY created this place close to 100 years ago. I would hate it and feel it was forced.
Nahhhh she was told to kill Ethan cause he was the only one who can see the boy in white at the time. The boy in white be trying to help… I guess idk lmao
The men in yellow is deeper in the cave than the monsters that’s why he didn’t want tab digging when she fell threw they had to go past were the monsters sleep to get out of the cave !!!!!! When they got to we’re the monsters sleep tab seen a jail that the kids were locked away in
Can we have no proof that she can go forward and when you are talking about time travel you're talking like a time machine where you can go back and forth
Naah I can't buy this one, BIW wouldn't be friends with him if that was the case, and we've also established that the voices Sarah hear are evil, barring the BIW l. Plus he'd come back to kill Julie cus her powers are the biggest interference to his schemes
It's not Ethan.. geez.. so many stupid "theories". Believe it or not, sometimes writers do like to keep things simple, even if it's a mystery. You're all coming up with so much nonsense.

The voices telling Sara to kill Ethan because it was meant to punish Tabitha further for not wanting to sacrifice her daughter.
I think ethan knows everything lol 😂
Honestly I don't think it will be Ethan who is the man in yellow. I am sure he would have alluded to himself being Ethan when killing Jim. Or made some kind of remark to make you think he could be Ethan.
The man in yellow is the entity that gave the creatures a eternal life
What if Ethan is the man in yellow, but in the same way that Tabitha is Miranda. It would be interesting if his whole narrative arc is to usurp the man in yellow and to be better version of him, thereby freeing everyone.
What if you wait 2 years to see exactly if it's true 💀
Now what clicked in my head , is maybe the boy in white entity is Julie and Ethan's brother... And for some reason they don't remember him...
Even looks like him
Are you insane ?
Here's a better question. Is Ethan a reality manipulating mutant like Franklin Richards because how would he be able to create this story and affect events in the past that happened before he was ever born like Victor's arrival in the town or the sacrifice of the angkhooeey kids? What about Tabitha's dreams she had as a child that took place before she ever stepped foot in the town? It's not making a whole lot of sense.
How can someone else be a reincarnation of the man in yellow if he never died and he been there since the beginning 😒
If it was Ethan he's going to call him Dad not Jim before he kills him ...
The men in yellow is the tree on the road
Definitely more likely than being Ethan
Or he’s meant to be a reincarnated version of the MIY meant to fight the current MIY
That could explain why his ass just be out n about not listening when told to stay in the house and not wonder off
I’d be happier if were Randall the man in yellow.
Randall IS martin
I considered that too, however! I’d be more inclined to select Boyd! Same tattoo on right arm, both in the marines, both carry worms, both asked to someone to end them, and both knew who Abby was! It’s a stretch but we can say there were too many similarities
What if martin is randall, they both said there are worse things. And martin spawned the cicadas and randdall sees them non stop
I’m re watching season 1 and 2 and Ethan definitely wearing yellow a lot..also the house they lived in the town I believe could have been the man in yellow house and he got mad they was digging that hole in his house
This is the theory that makes the least sense to me. Absolutely no connection and why would his future self be talking to his father in that manner?
Why did he kill his dad 😢
That can't be, killing a child! , sacrificing children is what started this whole mess,
It kind of sounds like you are borrowing what happens in another show with time travel and projecting it into this one. I won’t name it here to avoid spoilers. However I don’t see why it would apply here.
3:16 it's not that this has already happened it's once she became a story Walker now she can know anybody from any point in time with still everything that's happening now being new
Why would he want to kill his dad, though?
No sarah is eithan, jim is tom, tom is Boyd, Boyd is donna and Donna is Sarah....full circle
I think the man in yellow is Thomas 👀
Spoiler for "Dark"
In Dark, the original hero becomes the ultimate villain. So you might be onto something here.
why did saras vocies tell her to pull out a random guys teeth?!! This theory might be true but its flawed
Yea, can't watch the video cause the title is so ridiculously out there and illogical, especially if you actually watched the show.
If he is the man in yellow then why did Sara killed others?
This is a reach bruh. He’s not Ethan . He’s just dragged into it cuz who his mom is . She’s the main connection
Nahhhh she was told to kill Ethan cause he was the only one who can see the boy in white at the time. The boy in white be trying to help… I guess idk lmao
How can the man in yellow want them to kill the boy which you saying is him? when he could have just popped out did it himself
👍💜🐾😊
The men in yellow is deeper in the cave than the monsters that’s why he didn’t want tab digging when she fell threw they had to go past were the monsters sleep to get out of the cave !!!!!! When they got to we’re the monsters sleep tab seen a jail that the kids were locked away in
No just noooo why would you saaay thattttt (engagement I know but STILL)
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣..
Can we have no proof that she can go forward and when you are talking about time travel you're talking like a time machine where you can go back and forth
At second serie Ethan (in a car after a car crash ) saw a dream abOut a room with pictures where they all are drawn by smb
I came here because i said wtf 😅
Delete this video it makes no sense
OK. From is fictional media, so anything can be possible. However, this theory doesn't make for a good show.
why would ethan kill his own father then???? your theory is stupid.
I never disliked a video on here so congratulations to you… this literally made 0 sense
😂😂😂😂
Naah I can't buy this one, BIW wouldn't be friends with him if that was the case, and we've also established that the voices Sarah hear are evil, barring the BIW l. Plus he'd come back to kill Julie cus her powers are the biggest interference to his schemes
This is the dumbest take ive heard
no its fn not
Waaay off with this 1 LOL
Looool your loosing it mate, take a brake from from 🤣
It's not Ethan.. geez.. so many stupid "theories". Believe it or not, sometimes writers do like to keep things simple, even if it's a mystery. You're all coming up with so much nonsense.
Please for the love of God could you repeat yourself AGAIN?!?!
Nice theory, nver think about it, interesting. Next video, The man in Yellow is Joe Biden
You'll wannabe theory makers are getting bored. This video is just silly.
You are by far the worst From content maker. You need to stop just throwing out information that just isn't true.
Bro I think you are so obsessed with this show that you are losing your sanity. This theory doesn't make any sense
