Johnny is his other alterego, anger. His middle name is John. Nathan John Feuerstein. He's basically talking about the basement. Hopefully it's in The Search
OG Creative I don’t think this is favorite song. Maybe the one he’s most proud of, but not his favorite. I know he references how could you leave us in a bunch of songs. I think that’s his favorite, and I don’t think anything will top it. But, I’ve heard rumors about nf saying ‘Time’ May be his favorite song in his new album
you sir hands down are the best reactor and lyrical analyst on youtube. You give actual insight , you come across genuine and authentic. You dont have gimmicks and don't seem to be doing anything to sell out for likes. Your content alone is worth the subscription. I hate long videos yet when I listen to you I find myself unable to turn it off because the content is so rich I dont even notice the length of the video. Great Job!!!!
Your videos are so good. A combination of you being able to pick up bars, analytical ability, knowledge of music history and your personality. You're about to blow up son. And we're all here for it.
One bar that got me was when fear said " That's pretty deep isn't it !". It was a double for the depth of his music and the grave NF was digging or so I believe :) Awesome video as always
@@fabiennec5945 took me a while, the only reason I finally caught on was because it said “wish I was burying anger, but both of us know I’m gonna need him for that song; he still lives in the basement.” Specifically mentioned the basement, and in Mansion he talks about the basement in relation to the physical abuse he dealt with. Took me way too long to put two and two together though 😂
I'm not a rapper by any means, however I write poetry- so when I first heard this song,...let's just say (like the other NF songs) it hit hard. Some of my best poems are about dark things, and I've had to have that conversation in the sense of,..wanting to have that struggle continue to control my writing and works, but at the same time, you don't want it to keep controlling everything else. it's a give and take- create deep, meaningful pieces, but at the cost of getting other things in your life controlled by fear.
Nate's music is the MCU of rap. So many story threads and callbacks that literally stretch entire albums. Characters that grow, change, adapt. It's incredible to piece together.
man I don't normally subscribe but I subscribed because you are the only one to actually understand this song. keep doing more NF you are doing amazing man keep it up.
Saw nf live when her came around last year and that song hit home for everyone in the crowd and 99.9% of the people there sang the song with him and u could feel his impact already got tickets for his next journey around here. Such an amazing artist
Once the journey is done, you should react to NF - Remember This. It's not complex as such, but you could literally pause after every bar, it's just straight facts and it's some real motivational shiz
Nate didn't save my life but he's definitely helped me confront things about myself that I really didn't even realize were there before I started listening to his real music. As always I enjoyed your breakdown. Sometimes you catch things that I never thought of and that's nice to appreciate another facet of something you already love. Keep up the good work man. I'm glad to see the channel growing even in my short time subbed. Hope you ready to put in that work for the new drop =P
Great breakdown my man!!! Was not disappointed. I love this song because I see it as fear’s last attempt to try and control Nate knowing that Nate no longer acknowledges him. Fear, being a liar, comes at Nate with all that he’s got attacking him from all angles, pushing every button he knows will trigger Nate. There is one line where fear says “wake up and take your own advice, you’re just mad cuz you know I’m right” which paints a picture that Nate is pissed off during fears bashing, not because Fear is right but because Nate’s tired AF with all of fears lies. Like you said it’s an abusive relationship and Nate is donzo with it. I don’t think you’ll ever get tired of this song because it allows you to imagine the convo in your own way in your own head. Can’t wait for Outcast and Why. Let You Down Video is fire with a whole lot of meaning from beginning to end. You keep doing you my Texas brother and let the haters hate. Thanks again for yet another great breakdown. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Im so happy that you knew straight away that he is talking to his fear, other RUclipsrs didnt know that, but acted like they understand this song. I love ur reactions
Same here. I get excited when he's going to react to an NF song. I woke up just to check my phone and I saw he posted this. I'm like, sleep can wait. I got to get to this already lol
My favorite line will always be “I’m NF/ is it me or the fear talking? What a dumb question” sooo fire. I could never do anything even remotely close to being this creative. NF iS such a dope artist.
Ok, its seven in the morning where I am from and I haven't even slept yet, and now as soon as I was about to go to sleep I get this notification... Thanks

When he says " We gonna dig a hole, kill the track and prolly put a beat in it Rap about for like three minutes. Aye thats pretty deep isnt it" is of a combination of how deep the hole is and how meaningful the song is
When he's talking about digging the grave and how deep his music is.... "Rap about it for 3 minutes...Hey, that's pretty deep isn't it?" That always makes me think of how emotionally deep his songs and thoughts can be, but also just how deep of a hole he needed to dig to bury fear. First time on your channel. Like others have said, great breakdown. Absolutely love the no frills approach and the detailed descriptions. You're also the first person I've heard to react to this song, and reference My Darling. That's the first thing I thought of after really listening to Intro 3. Thank you much Sir. New subscriber for sure and apparently a back catalog of reactions to check out. Keep up the great work!!
Once again, a beautiful breakdown. I don't expect anything else from you. Me and a few others have mentioned your name in Reddit forums and I know for sure people have come over from there and seen and enjoyed your videos. Trying to spread your name around!
So the hype for this reaction was so worth it! Ernest, this was... beautiful. I mean... you haven't missed anything! Not a single word or bar. I am in awe! Also, may I just say your view on the fact that people with mental issues are afraid of the version of themselves without it... that's a bar! At least from my point of view (I've been going through various stages of depression for over 10 years now and only in the last 2 I've worked up enough courage to actually push myself to deal with it). And just like you said, this is what draws us in to Nathan's music. He doesn't sugarcoat it and tells it as it is. Yeah, you push it away in its own room, you eventually get it out and try to kill it but... who are you without it, at the end of the day? Still searching for the answer to that question ("The search" reference *wink wink*) It would be very interesting to see you take another look at "The search" after you go through the songs leading up to it. I'm not sure it would do as good as the first reaction buuuut... I'd be there for it.
2 comments, 1st is when your dog walked past you that scared the s*** out of me because I forgot that you had a dog and I was like what the hell is that his dog LOL II think was I almost lost it when I heard your cat outside and I read that make screen I was rolling my ass off oh my God that was so funny I love love love love love your videos especially when you react to NF solves because it doesn't take much to become an NF fan but the way that you analyze his songs really does it justice because some people I call laugh that that bar that line was fire but you dig deeper than that like you really try to understand his perspective and where he's coming from and I really appreciate that so kudos to you! 😄
"Fear came to my house years ago, I let him in Maybe that's the problem 'cause I've been dealing with this ever since I thought that he would leave, but it's obvious he never did He must have picked the room and got comfortable and settled in Now I'm in the position it's either sit here and let him win Or put him back outside where he came from, but I never can 'Cause in order to do that I'd have to open the doors Is that me or the fear talking? I don't know anymore" (MANSION) NF throwback references to this segment of Mansion so many times in Intro III. It's really subtle, but when fear says "Come on, let's go outside! Is this what you wanted? Both of us out in the open? Let's do it then I mean, why are you doin' this?" That's specifically meant to draw you back to the lyrics about how in order to get fear out he'd have to open the door. Then again in Intro III, Fear actually goes and directly like SpongeBob mockery voices what NF said in Mansion by going "HEY, I'M NF! Is IT Me Or tHe FEaR TAlkInG?! Huh?! WHAT A DUMB QUESTION!" The crazy storytelling that NF weaves between all of his content is mind-boggling!
In my opinion, this is one of his most talented songs. The lyrical content, the sound effects in the background (the shovel hitting fear), my emotions, is all just brilliant. It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve listened to this song, it makes me feel the same as when I first heard it. This song is so relatable to me because of the fear my abusive relationship has left me.
Love your analogies! So happy I found tour channel! Thank you for your time spent breaking down the song, videos and the production of them. These are great! Love the third fam💜✌🏼
When he’s says I’ll be there when we die was referring to his line in mansion, “And I regret watching these trust issues eat me alive And at the rate I'm going they'll probably still be there when I die “ and the prison he talks about you see the symbolism in outcast being in the cell, his burdens “balloons” and questions that almost haunt him in “why” that he carries around in a shopping cart, and the lonely swing at the end in why too, they all interconnect which is why he’s so dope, message ,meaning, content and context talking real ish, great reaction bro✌🏻👊🏻
NF is so good at writing lyrics and making music. When I listened to this song at first I was overwhelmed by the sense that maybe, just maybe I could change the inner workings of my mind. You always do a great job of reacting to the lyrics and explaining them. Keep it up, man.
I love Ernest reaction at the end...before the cat meow. His mind is blown and is wrapping around what just took place. I found NF the week he released Mansion and had no idea how much hype would follow. He is amazing and never disappoints. I have to take time with every song to grasp the long journey he is taking us on. Every song and album are done intricately. Each song pointing to another and about how real he is. The reason he will grow to be the best and reach millions of ears is because he is real. He hides nothing and hangs it all out to dry and for everyone to see. His Journey will drag others out of the mud (life) and get them on their feet again. Truly an amazing artist.
This is the best reaction/breakdown I’ve ever seen of this song. So glad you listened to/watched outdo first! Most RUclips reaction channels have no idea who is talking through this entire song.
I've been waiting for this specific song because I knew your reaction and insights would be fire. Nate hasn't let you down yet, and you haven't let me down. Keep it real, I'm loving this!
1. You are intelligent and an amazing reactor. 2. NF is the greatest & so intelligent. 3. I absolutely love your pets, especially your cat and how he chimes in during the perfect moment!! 😂❤
“Is this what you wanted? Both of us out in the open let’s do it then. I mean why are you doing this? I know that you’re mad but I’m not in the mood for this!” The anger in his voice. I feel that. It’s literally me yelling at my emotions. Thassabar!!!
This is how NF has helped me. "You took my mentally away and left me afraid.. Although im in constant pain I promise that your debt will be paid.. Once you came back to my life I lost everything I loved and everything I cared about.. Fuck you depression!! Because of you the people I cared about most said fuck this im out.. Honestly being alone has always been difficult for me but this time I feel like it's different.. I know what im capable of and once I overcome you again this time you better stay distant.. To all my so call friends thank you for showing me how much y'all really "care".. For those real ones I promise you once I reach the beauty on top of this mountain ima take y'all there.." - Brian J. Avila
This is the reaction I have been waiting for son!! Fuego! I am with you on that Johnny line, since he talks about it in mansion. Damn brother, I’m going back to listen to dear darlings now... Flawless reaction man. I am loving your breakdown more and more. Keep this going my guy. Keep growing
Excellent break down of the song. I’ve never listened so intently to lyrics before NF. And loved your correlation between this song and quoting Em’s Stan song. I was 16 when that Eminem song came out and was impressed w/ your recall on the spot!
Amazing amazing amazing reaction!!!! Wow best Intro 3 reaction song break down ive seen yet..ty 4 your time and work giving understanding to those that dont understand lyrics
I think he meant anger is in the basement not Johnny. Like when your really mad it feels like it's coming from your core. Just a feeling in the gut that just radiates and builds till it blows. I wish I was burying anger but both of us know we're going to need him for that song, he "anger" is still living in the basement.
i just love how you notice EVERYTHING abt a song and an mv, nothing goes past you. i watched a few reaction channels and they all miss abt 80% of the lyrics or the meaning and it’s really frustrating tbh but i can always count on you!!
You definitely hit the nail on the head. Most of the other reactions to NF act like they love it, but you actually GET it. Half of them didn't even realize it was a conversation with fear until the song was half-way over.
Caught you from your recent reaction to nf "chasing" liked it so came back to listen to some others. Earned the sub my man, this is my favorite nf song and you by far had the best reaction analysis to this. Going to start watching many more of yours, good shit my man.
My guy, it's like the 20th time I've watched this reaction and everytime it slips my mind about the cat meowing in the back and the comment you throw up. Straight comedy bro, even been through it myself back in the day. Keep up the stellar work.
Dude thank you so much for a profound video! I've heard this song many times, but I didn't realize how much I missed or didn't understand until you broke it down. Fire UPON Fire!

"Is it me or the fear talking" is also a line in Mansion.
Yup. Being mocked by his own mental state
Is it me or the fear talkin I don’t no any more

"'is it me or the fear talking?' ha! what a dumb question" is the line

When he says " We gonna dig a hole, kill the track and prolly put a beat in it Rap about for like three minutes. Aye thats pretty deep isnt it" is of a combination of how deep the hole is and how meaningful the song is
Nate talking in the form of fear! That’s how deep his lyrics are! He is special!!
When he's talking about digging the grave and how deep his music is.... "Rap about it for 3 minutes...Hey, that's pretty deep isn't it?" That always makes me think of how emotionally deep his songs and thoughts can be, but also just how deep of a hole he needed to dig to bury fear.

Exactly!! Just like NF, Ernest is underrated!!
You're so goddamn good at breaking down the bars, I love that shit! 🔥🔥🔥
NF is so good at writing lyrics and making music. When I listened to this song at first I was overwhelmed by the sense that maybe, just maybe I could change the inner workings of my mind. You always do a great job of reacting to the lyrics and explaining them. Keep it up, man.
Keep killing these videos fam. I'm here for your content for life bro
Man, that part of "are you out of your mind?"... The way you dissected it. Unreal!
Man you started scaring me when you turned into Stan at the end😂
This is the best reaction/breakdown I’ve ever seen of this song. So glad you listened to/watched outdo first! Most RUclips reaction channels have no idea who is talking through this entire song.
16:15 Best Metaphor Ever!😂😂😂 Amazing video. Keep it up!
I LOVE what you said about Fear’s success actually being Courage’s success! Such great insight.
I've been waiting for this specific song because I knew your reaction and insights would be fire. Nate hasn't let you down yet, and you haven't let me down. Keep it real, I'm loving this!
Its only a matter of time before the channel grows huge! really appreciate the quality and breakdowns!
Love it when I see its a long video, it means we catching those bars 👌🏼
Ya damn right!!
I love that you explain this song so well. People who never had these feeling should watch this video because you explain it so.
Another heat reaction! Outcast and Why and you're all caught on storytime 🔥🔥👏🏽Issa wrap
YOOOO I love how concentrated you get for the battle between nf and fear😂😂😂 like I literally did the same thing when I was first digesting it
1. You are intelligent and an amazing reactor. 2. NF is the greatest & so intelligent. 3. I absolutely love your pets, especially your cat and how he chimes in during the perfect moment!! 😂❤
Wonderful reaction ❤❤ thanks...hope you keep doing NF reaction..love them.
Ernest III...best in the game, looking forward to the next lyrics class! Nice!! 🔥🔥
“Is this what you wanted? Both of us out in the open let’s do it then. I mean why are you doing this? I know that you’re mad but I’m not in the mood for this!”
The anger in his voice.
For those real ones I promise you once I reach the beauty on top of this mountain ima take y'all there.."
- Brian J. Avila
Ernest, you said the word now you gotta do the reaction.
Epiphany. Futuristic feat. NF. That song is FIRE.
Your probably one of my favorite reaction channels because of how Indept you go with the bars and stuff keep it up
Amazing amazing amazing reaction!!!!
Jajaja perfect timing. Your cat (fear)meowing wanting back in the Mansion! 😂😂😂
i just love how you notice EVERYTHING abt a song and an mv, nothing goes past you. i watched a few reaction channels and they all miss abt 80% of the lyrics or the meaning and it’s really frustrating tbh but i can always count on you!!
There are so many NF songs bro, u should really upload more often if that‘s possible 😁🤞
That's a perfect analogy!!
Don't suppress the shit. It'll go away for a while, but when it comes back, there is no ignoring it.
Finally!!!!! Been waiting for this one
Good commentary on lyrical complexity and (where videos are present) production technique. Keep providing insight and dissecting NF's Real Music.
