I remember she was in her prime at the time like literally opening and closing every show from New York fashion week to Paris and reigned as the Queen of Haute couture. VS probably saw this rising star with otherworldly walk and they booked her (even giving her THREE outfits on her first show with ONE wings and closing TWO segments including the finale). Perhaps it was a challenge for her as a model to change attitude on the catwalk and being in VS just shows so much of her versatility and proves that she can be a serious and sassy High fashion model and a fun, sexy and entertaining VS model. That's why she's been dubbed as the 'return of the supermodel'.
I personally think she's shifting her priorities now. She's no longer in the haute couture scene and more on editorial & commercial shoots, as well as her own ventures (kookies, college, kode with karlie, RUclips channel, etc). If I were to stretch out my conjecture even more, the occasional shoots & runway are what keep her (name) in the fashion industry, so it'll be easier to get support for her own projects that she can control.
