Hi Kristin. Really fun market! When I was a girl, my great grandfather had bees. He would can some of the honey with the comb in it. He would give us chunks (it’s just wax) to put in our mouth. There’s nothing like that first bite-all of that wonderful honey comes out into your mouth. The more you chew, it just turns into a small piece of wax which you spit out. Good memories from the 60’s!
One of my favourite things to do with my kids is to take a basket and some snippers and go for a walk around (we live in a country Australian town) and we cut nice branches and greenery and then come home and do some arrangements. Its free, takes a good amount of time and at the end you have lovely arrangements. Its good for those times when your cut flowers aren't out yet (also a good tip for your yard reno, put a bed in just for cut flowers so you don't feel bad cutting them out of your garden). I tend to do bigger arrangements in my crocks and ironstone jugs and the kids love doing smaller ones :) anyway, just a tip :)
Loved the adventure! Thank you for inviting us! It was so fun seeing Josh looking around… & his purchase… after cracking up over here, I thought of how cool & intricate honeycombs are & how clearly they reveal God’s creativity, detail & purpose in design. Maybe Josh has a message for the youth with which he’s going to use this piece to convey something about the Creator! Your choices were absolutely beautiful! Eager to see how you integrate them!
Kristen, that basket is amazing and for the price....I got one years ago for 80.00 dlls. I love it I use it (indoors of course) for my blankets and pillows in the family room. Simply hose it down with soap and water to clean it up and let it air dry. I agree with you that maybe a mirror would look better over the mantel. Also, those silver colour pheasants you have on the mantel are (imo) most likely from a French Country store that went out a few years ago called Pierre Deux, they are expensive (I know bec/ I have them!). TFS!
Kristen, I wish we had such a place like JUNKSTOCK. Thank you for changing your plans & taking us along. Great finds too. I love the crocks. The dark brown will look soooo awesome in the Fall with so many different things in it. You hit the mother load with that basket too. It will look great outside with potted plants in it or even hanging on the wall (outside too) with a fern or again in the Fall. So much fun. Have a great week sweet girl.
Maybe a large mirror propped on the mantle with the painting propped in front. Some layering. Lots of brass is charming. You’ll figure it out. It’s a process. Have you ever been to Round Top? TX. So much fun.
Oh, my goodness! Great finds andd so muuh fun. If the crocks do not hold water, just put a skinny glass vase in it for your water if using real flowers.
If you’re going to use the crocks as a vase with water inside, be sure you have a protective material under the bottom if it isn’t glazed . I made the mistake of not doing this and ruined my kitchen table from water seeping and it soaking into the tables’s surface! Great finds! 😊
@@KristenHoffman Oh Kristen sorry I’ve confused you. I live in England and the saying “ right up my street” actually means it’s something I’d really like - be interested in. It looked a fabulous event. I loved all the artwork and decorations too like the picture made out of flip flops.
If any of the crock/vases don't hold water, just place a thin vase inside and you can add water and your fresh flowers to that. Your crock and basket are so beautiful. Looks like a lot of fun to go to Junk Stock. I've never heard of it before.
Thrifting today found a candlestick holder “brass” now my granddaughters and I can do our voices by candlelight! Love this video looks like you all had a great time. Great finds and music!
Oh, Kristin, I love this!!! I went to Junkstock back when it was at the old dairy farm in Omaha and have been to the one at Waterloo one time, as well. I live out by Kearney so it’s about a 3 hr drive, but so worth it! You found some awesome treasures, and I know the hunt is the most fun of all! Wish I could’ve gone this year, but hopefully next!❤️
I Love all the Beautiful Items you purchase. I also would stack books on your mantel, add a big vase. Adding bigger sized items, and different heights to add more visual interest. ❤️
I just came across your videos on youtube. Funny, yesterday I followed Junkstock on facebook and then your video popped up! LOL! I'm fortunate to live close to Roundtop and warrenton but this show looks fun too! Looking forward to watching more of your content! Your home looks beautiful!
Oh. How . Fun!!! I've never heard of this.. of course I'm way over in Tucson, Arizona... You scored! I really enjoyed seeing everything.. i saw alot of great items!! Amazing!!
What beautiful weather you had! Looks like so much fun. Kristen you found some amazing items at fabulous prices (especially the large crock and wicker basket at the end).
Beautiful finds! The installations there looked SO cool! In your intro were those button down shirts all tied together and strung up high? They looked like huge morning glories or trumpet flowers. 😍 Thanks for taking us along! ❤
How much fun and the music too. 🎶 I love the older bowls and furniture. I love the birds on your fireplace. I can't tell if they're peasants? Thank you for sharing.
Hi, Kristen. Enjoyed your Junk stock video. Aren't those kind of festivals fun? You got some amazing crocks.. .love the Goliath basket!!! So great to see you, Josh, and your friend. Tell Josh that this past Saturday there were 60,000 young people who filled the Oklahoma University football stadium to praise and worship the Lord. Also wanted to tell you your crock and basket were God Nuggets at $10. Let your light shine, Kristen. Greetings from Oklahoma. Jane Greene
Hi Kristen!!I love where you went!!!!!I would have a blast too!!I "LOVE" the candlesticks and that great basket as well as the chair!!You did really well!! I think the candlesticks would look great on your mantel and maybe a few more to place on both sides!!! I could also see a mirror instead of the painting!!!The painting is very pretty but maybe somewhere else !!!!!!!Have fun with it!!!!You are just so adorable in your personality!! Enjoy your goodies!!!!😁🌷🦋🌼🌹🐞🌻😍
Great deals on the big crock ---that would have been $75 or more here. Springfield OH has a huge show at the fairgrounds in May that I will be going to. These are so much fun.
I love your sweater and skirt! Adorable! Your trip looks like a blast. I love going in Vintage, shopping antique shopping, thrift, shopping all the above!
What a cool place! So much good stuff! The glaze on that dark brown crock is called Albany glaze and the crock itself is an old canning crock, used before the glass canning jars were available. Love it! I have quite a collection of those in different styles and colors. You got a steal on that 3 gal crock and the basket! All that wear and tear is called patina these days! Now just stop apologizing when you spend a bit more for something you really want, we all deserve a splurge every so often! ❤
Great finds!!!! I have never heard of that junkstock? But it looks like so much fun!!! and it has a ton of stuff. That basket I would put it in my laundry room and make a light out 2 lights in it hanging from the ceiling! Most definitely and the candle holders and that Brown crock definitely would put greens in it and put it on my fireplace with a mirror. Just an idea I love decorating!!! skies the limit! You are just so fand and happy and thank you for sharing amazing I just found your channel. So I will be watching it and can't wait for the next adventure!
Nice treasures Kristen! My favorite is the antique crock with the lid. Was it a butter churn? I love your idea a vase for flowers. Look's like a fun day!
LOVE the basket! I got a smaller version for a few bucks at a thrift store and I leave it on top of the dryer and use it for laundry...makes me so happy every time I use it! I hope you get to go to that event every spring!!🎉

Wonderful buys!! There’s nothing like that near me. ☹️ I have been to some festivals like that one. So fun!!! Can’t wait to see where you will display your purchases!!!
We used to get honeycomb when we were kids. Scoop off a hunk of it, chew it, you'll get all the honey out, then you're left with the wax comb. It's like candy!!
Honey comb served with all the "fancy meats," (as my hubby says) on a charcuterie, with breads and cheeses is delicious. It doesnt sound like it goes together, but it does. 😊

I loved the first two crocks simply because they are different and loved their shapes. Also loved the candlesticks. When I saw them, I thought I'd grab them quick and you did. I love the idea you have for your basket. If I paid $20 for that honey thing, I'd probably use it in the kitchen somehow. It's too expensive to eat. Lol, got to let Josh have fun too. Liked his hat and Ivy's little kiss. Ya'll seemed to be having so much fun. I love going places like that and MOST of the time I don't spend too much money.
