broken-in & lubed cherry switches are the goat. getting to that point is the difficult part.

@@someblindguy ive had cherries before, they never sounded good thats why im saying that i was surprised that they were cherry switches
@@tobias4192 in stock form they do not in fact sound or feel good. this is why people tweak them by activating them an exaggerated amount of times until they get rid of the scratch. there's equally good switches around that do not need all this work, though.
How do you make your ”normal” keys like ABCDE and spacebar almost the same sound? When I type on mine I can hear the spacebar very clearly. Ive lubed and tuned the stabs so many times
this was actually sent to me already built by the hex team!
Might just be due to the board.
In my opinion this spacebar does not sound similar to the alpha keys, and I don’t feel like they ever sound the same on any board I’ve ever heard

switches don't determine the sound of the board, only the feel
cherry red is the same as cherry black that lots of people are using. It just people prefer black color over red.
@@tendieman69 It's not the colour, it's just the fact MX Blacks predate MX Reds development-wise so you can get vintage or really nicely broken-in Blacks compared to Reds
Other people here seem to be saying it's not the switches rhat sound good, but the board. Untrue, board acoustics matter but the switch is important too. Nicely treated Cherry linears sound absolutely nutty in anything
