- In 1974, Jamaican reggae singer-songwriter Bob Marley met 16-year old photographer Dennis Morris and was immediately taken with him. Over the next 7 years, the two developed a friendship as Bob went on tour and Dennis captured some of the most iconic images of him at concerts, backstage, and between shows.
In this short documentary, Dennis tells the stories behind his famous photographs of Bob, what he learned from his work with him from 1974 to 1981, and his collaboration with contemporary artist Shepard Fairey.

As an aspiring Photographer this story is VERY motivational and fascinating at the same time. This guy took some of the most legendary pictures that forever will be remembered in History. What an honor to of got the chance to be Bob’s Photographer. I can’t even begin to imagine what he heard and saw and the incredible experiences he had. Thank you Dennis for capturing him for the world to see.

I'm 21. Ive been raised in Florida all my life. I probably first gathered enough around me to figure out who Bob Marley was when I was around 10 years old. It wasn't around my later teens (16-19) that I actually listened to some of his music. It's not until now that I'm really learning who he was, and what he was about. It's really eye opening and inspiring, especially as a musician. One love y'all ✌

I met Bob, briefly, in Chicago when he played a small club, "The Quiet Knight" and for me it was a most moving experience.
What a wonderful moment and memory you must cherish.

So touched by this, what a blessing they were to each other. our creator ordained this meeting. Bob's work was finishing up and Dennis was put here to capture all these beautiful moments to share with the world and to be blessed with the confidence Bob gave him. Job well done, Dennis!

Nobody's perfect but what a lovely man. Money did not change him. It allowed him to show people around him what he believed and who he was. I don't admire many people in history but Bob is one.
Whether we live again or not Bob really lived.

I was at your exhibition (1999) in London Mr Morris and saw the photos you took of Bob Marley..They're amazing, really caught my attention..looking back, I remember seeing Mr Marley as if meeting him in person for the first time. Bought your book too (A Rebel Life) and i still have it till today. Thank you! Regards from Malaysia..irie!

I wish that Bob Marley (Berhane Selassie) was still here physically with us. The state of consciously hard core reggae has some what have taken a nose dive to dance hall (slackness, not all) type of music. Commercial Radio stations don't mine playing this type of reggae music. But, What about the Big Youths, U-Roy, I-Roy, Dillinger etc.,. Isn't there a place for them. Along, with the new school of reggae music.
