Not sure if you know, but the Magnolia Parks/Daisy Haites series are forever being made in BOTH cover styles, so be rest assured that you can get your hands on the original covers as they are just so stunning and meaningful to the story lines! ✨

Shadow and Bone is pretty good but the sequels are fantastic. Definitely on the YA side stylistically. There's a twist in the 3rd book that just ripped my heart out, and seeing how the MC overcame that challenge was wonderful.
Dune is a meditative and philosophical book, disguised as a sci-fi. Lots of discussion on the nature of religion and prophecy, power dynamics between people of the city and people of the wilderness, and other topics, but all people tend to remember about it (myself included) is the GIANT SANDWORMS.

    • @MaddysLibrary
      @MaddysLibrary  Год назад

I think I’ll probably like shadow and bone! I love Stephanie Garber and she’s definitely very YA. And wow yeah I had no idea dune was more than just a sci-fi in the desert😂

@@MaddysLibrary Re-watching the video to give you recommendations of which ones to read. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo since I feel like it is going to lose hype. A Court of Mist and Fury, and A Court of Wings and Ruin (Reading A Court of Wings and Ruin in January), Throne of Glass series since will be starting that series after ACOTAR series, The Seven Year Slip, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue since I also plan to read this next year, Renegades series, A Darker Shade of Magic series, Iron Flame, planning to read Final Girls in October, and City of Bones will take a while mine is going into next year since I read The Infernal Devices then going to read the last three books of The Mortal Instruments series.

For what it's worth, Shadow & Bone isn't bad; I think people just get disappointed reading it after Six of Crows, since that duology is absolutely top tier and Shadow & Bone isn't quite at that level. Renegades is also great!

    She and her Cat
    The goodbye cat
    The cat who saved books
The invisible life of Addie La Rue
    Empire of the vampire
    The guest cat
    Finale (Caraval series)
    The wolf den

    Thursday midnight club
    Conversations with friends
    A wedding at the country
    Good girl's guide to murder

Torrents of Spring is a really weird read bc it’s a parody of an early 20th century book that is fairly forgotten. It’s a quick read but kinda hard to understand bc you don’t really know what Hemingway is making fun of unless you’ve read the book it’s parodying jsyk
