Thanks for posting this, brings back some memories. My uncle took me to that match for my 11th birthday and I remember being in the old East stand - IIRC it had timber bench seats - and nearly losing my voice shouting when we got the 3rd goal. Great experience, seeing Brazil and great Irish footballers from both sides of the border. We had drinks in the Shelbourne Hotel after the game (at least he did, I don't recall what soft drink I had!). Happy days.
I was at this match, one of the greatest football days of my life. Brazil were far from a Samba side by then - they toured Europe the summer before the 1974 World Cup to toughen themselves up after they had been bullied in Europe in 1966. As it turned out, they were the bullies but at the expense of the more expansive side of their game, and they were outplayed by Cruyff's Holland in what was effectively a semi-final.
I read somewhere that he (and his Belfast-based family) received death threats from the UVF if he played. Hence the sad omission of one of the greatest players to ever grace a football pitch.

Great video. I had read about the game before, however, I had never been able to watch any video of it.

Northern Ireland FA were furious with Derek Doogan and made him persona non grata for the rest of his life.
