Necessity;if you don't quickly gain the muscle mass necessary to haul it around, you die. Simple as that. And a 15 kg weapon is actually quite light compared to something like the mg08, or even the combat load a modern soldier wields. Also, the Perino had special mounts, at least the cut down versions, for a more easily carry strapped to the soldiers back, and would be easily detachable within a matter of seconds. Most of the time though the soldiers that used perinos were not going to go on extended patrols lasting very long away from their trenches and fortifications meaning that often the weapon would be resting on something with the operator within a few feet ready to start firing.
I just wish they would have made all the heavy ass MGs like the Perino, MG-18 NA, MG-14 Para, M-1917 Browning exc exc behave like the elite sentry's MG-08/15 in that you cant ADS with them .... hell id go even further by preventing players from being able to aim or reload said weapons "UNLESS" they deployed said MGs on their bipods / tripods 1st thus forcing the players to use these guns in their intended defensive roles thus forcing the players to actually defend their fucking objectives instead of just zerging to each one like a wave of fucking lemmings >_>
Andrew Schutz yeah but when not using the bipod its recoil is all over the place though. Its pretty difficult to kill people who arent even that far away which annoys me sometimes. I still love the parebellum too though probably equally as much as the Perino.
I came acrosse your channel a month ago and now i have seen al of you btf1 guides and i have to say : i really enjoy how you explane it and the history lesson, keep it up man!
My favorite LMG. Hell, my favorite primary gun in BF1. Only if I expect to focus on CQC will I switch to something more fitting. Otherwise, gimme dem strips.
I feel like the Browning M1917 (for Turning Tides) will end up more popular than the Perino. You can't go wrong with that 250 round ammo capacity and they look pretty similar.
Xan Saibot I'm sure the Perino would have have a longer firing time before the barrel overheats, while the Browning will just have that insurmountable ammo capacity.
I didn't realize that even during WW1 the Italians used cartridge-retaining clips like they did in WWII... they REALLY just weren't willing to let the casings go flying were they.
@@BigWheel. I always assumed it was because they had some sort of crippling brass shortages or something and relied on soldiers turning in the spent casings to be recycled or something lol.
Pro355Street it may kill slower than most other weapons, but the Perino can compensate for these issues in other ways, for example, extremly low recoil, big box of ammo, not many full reloads due to the mechanism, ecceterra
Fun Fact the Perino and Hotchkiss Benet-Mercie are the two jam proof LMGs of this game, because if the one weapon’s bullets doesn’t fire it just moves on to the next.
2:15 the actual reason they done it wasn’t either because littering or the concern of unevening the mg crew’s surface (though that was a reason)the primary reason they did it was because italian industry wasn’t the best and well the Perino’s mechanism would have allowed the cases to be recycled back into bullets
Hey Kris, great video as usual. :) Could you make a video, where you explain some of the weapon stats on symthic? I understand most of them, but I would like to get some of them, for example spread decrease visualized. Would be very cool! :)
The machine gun was one of the biggest game changers in warfare. Can't tell that from playing bf1 though. Why do they put a 5 shot minimum on lmg's? They fire full sized rifle rounds for crying out loud. They could at least make it to where not every round is a tracer. Enemy gets to cover too easily because they can tell the direction the fire is coming from without even looking. Tracer every 4 or 5 rounds.
Anthony DeLuca because bolt action rifles dont do that already Also a 4 bullet kill minimum should be stadard for lmgs especially the slower firings ones
Anthony DeLuca didn't say that. 4 wouldn't be bad. Or 3 for 1 or 2 guns, like the pkp/m60/m240 in previous games. But I could live with just having less tracers and keeping the damage the same. I don't want REALISTIC damage, just a little more realistic damage. They just aren't as effective as they should be.
Yea but an easy way to nerf heavy MGs that can kill in 1-3 rounds is to not allow the players to ADS or reload said weapons ""unless"" they deploy them on their bipods or tripods. That would be realistic and fair as such heavy MGs would be much much harder to rambo with and thus give players a very dam good incentive to use them in their RL intended defensive roles. It would also make more players actually defend their objectives from enemy infantry zerg rushes instead of having "everyone" run around like mindless lemmings as is currently the case in BF1 .... the class is called "Support" after all not Rambo >_>
This gun, the parabellum and the chauchat are my preferred lmgs. This one for its cool looks and crazy ammo capacity, the perabelum for its insane fire rate that slices thru enemies and the chauchat for its immense power. Chauchat is my num.1 out of all 3 do.
The Moor. Ah the Dlc lmgs. Dlc weapons are the best and most interesting guns of all. They are my preferred, but i also use some of the base game lmgs extensively too, like the Bar, Lewis gun, Madsen and Mg15.na. I dont like the huot that much. And i freaking hate the benet mercie
Malte Molin the mercies actually my favourite out of the base lmgs. The mag is cool looking and the reload on it feels very badass after you kill 3 or 4 dudes. It can also be very steady almost like the hout but with more bullets and stronger damage. Cqc on it sucks pipi do. I honestly dont think any of the lmgs suck but the madsens magazine really pisses me of for some reason. Sucks cause when in kill mode it dose feel very nice and speedy. Guess i should get a bigger TV.
I saw the september weapon balance change. Is the data in the video old one? Lewis, Huot, Perino (.303 heavy and 6.6 carcano heavy) Maximum damage: 23 ⇾ 26.5 Minimum damage: 15 ⇾ 20 Since the Lewis, Huot, and Perino will no longer dropoff to a much lower BTK at range than other LMGs, their recoil has been increased slightly to compensate. Lewis horizontal recoil: 0.34 ⇾ 0.48 Huot horizontal recoil: 0.16 ⇾ 0.28 Perino Horizontal recoil: 0.24 ⇾ 0.3
I hate the Lewis and Huot, but love the Perino. Reasons? Almost no recoil, massive mag, slower and easier rate of fire, my defensive playstyle, great iron sights
The iron sight wobble is horrible and the lens doesn’t zoom enough to its useful range so it’s outclassed by every other unscoped lmg imo and the browning is dead superior to all at long range. And if you get used to the scope then there’s really no reason to use the variants without, I can automatically dropeshot to use the bipod before each shootout. Exception for the low weight Lewis gun it’s recoil is superior even not deployed and it doesn’t wobble making it almost effective as its scoped version.
The low weight version with the AA sights seems made to harass planes: Bipod, AA sights, low recoil, good accuracy, long time to overheat & fast muzzle velocity....
If you thought you got plenty ammo to gun down ppl one after the other with this weapon, well just think what you'll be able to do when the Browning 1917 becomes available with that over-the-top 250 rounds mag. I tried that weapon on the CTE and it's just like finding a predilect, I wanna unlock it and have it to rek noobs in my games now, hype intensifying
It’s pretty much Benét Mercié with 4 times the amount of ammo and a slower fire rate. But if this had the fire rate of the Benét Mercié it would shred.
Its been my main support weapon for years until I unlocked the Browning machine gun which had better effectiveness at longer range. The reload animation is highly satisfying and quick.
This weapon is just too bulky to use for attack. I tried it a few times, but ended up just using it for defensive purposes. It's got an amazing Legendary skin though.......
Naaah.. This gun only compete other player on Newbie server but if you see bunch of player ranks above 140 with level 50 classes there are no reason to use this gun... Just use MG1917, MG15, MG08, BAR...
Would be my fav support gun if it didn't have that dumb fall off damage.. then again this gun would destroy scouts if it didn't have that fall off. I stick with the M1917
PATCHED 01/2018: Max damage - 26.5 up to 11 meters, Min damage - 20 at 50 meters [4-5 bullet kill], Spread Increases, Horizontal recoil - 0.15
How mutch bullets you need for killin a enemy above 50 meters?
I dont understand

When I first used the perino I was so satisfied with the feeling of it
I ended up giving it the name the Italian typewriter
Yeah, it kinda does resemble a typewriter in how it sounds and how the clips run through the hopper.
Not even lying my last name is Perino. I think I’m related to the engineer who invented it.
Too bad that didn’t catch on, wise guys with this thing
I like the fact the gun basically has 0 recoil but the damage compared to other lmgs is bad.. I stick with the M1917
To me It does sound like a typewriter and it’s a great machine gun but I really don’t like it’s base iron sights but it’s good nevertheless
This gun is a nightmare to horse riders, wich is why I love it
And planes.
Love the history portion of your reviews. A high quality video like usual.
I really wanted to like it but it just doesn't fit my playstyle.
It's still fun to use though.
How could a soldier carry a 15 kg Machine Gun for such extended periods of time....
Jacob Melone Its a game nigga logic doesnt apply here
its a BF game made by EA to milk casual trash of their parents hard earned cash WTF did you expect? A Verdun or Insurgency level of realism??

I like the Perino more than the Parabellum, honestly. Anyone else agree?
Same bro
I love it because you can supress people so much and just spray all over the place
None of you don't realize the power of the Parrabellum when it's on its bipod. A 700 rpm vs a wimpy 450 rpm? Give me a break
Andrew Schutz recoil is a big part..and spread accuracy, in general accuracy...faster doesnt always mean better.
Andrew Schutz yeah but when not using the bipod its recoil is all over the place though. Its pretty difficult to kill people who arent even that far away which annoys me sometimes. I still love the parebellum too though probably equally as much as the Perino.

Xan Saibot I'm sure the Perino would have have a longer firing time before the barrel overheats, while the Browning will just have that insurmountable ammo capacity.
Dillon C Doesn't mg15 have 250 rounds also?
Anthony DeLuca No, the suppressive has 2000. The other variants have 10
Anthony DeLuca Nah that's 200 rounds for only the suppressive variant. The other variants of the MG15 have 100 rounds.
After turning tides getting released, rip perion 2017-2017, because the browning 1917 just got more ammo in his box
The flametrooper from bf1 Is going to toast u
Hey. :3
The flametrooper from bf1 Is going to toast u I hope they balance the 1917 by making it's reload longer than the perino
TheReal Lifehacks it is, an eternity longer, the Perino is a quicker reloading Browning with half the ammo, and probably less recoil
The flametrooper from bf1 Is going to toast u Perion? What weapon is that?!
Im going to use the browning parabellum and perino though cause the browning looks like uts a better version of the mg15
I recently got the Kopparhed skin for the Perino and it looks absolutely gorgeous

The high accuracy does not make up for how weak and how slowly it shoots, for me personally. Great video Kris!
Pro355Street it may kill slower than most other weapons, but the Perino can compensate for these issues in other ways, for example, extremly low recoil, big box of ammo, not many full reloads due to the mechanism, ecceterra
