TIMESTAMPS
00:00 THE BIGGEST POLLUTERS: The CO2 emission of China is more than the whole western hemisphere with 27% of CO2 emissions. On top China is biggest coal producer and India biggest coal growth producer.
04:24 EXISTENTIAL URGENCIES: China and India have more reality sense on climate change than most countries in northern hemisphere. This creates unpredictability for hundreds of millions of households in both India and China how their lives will be affected. This creates a mindset change in both countries. This is why China wants to do everything to become CO2 neutral by 2060 and India by 2070 even though both countries are very different in policies.
09:00 XI JINPING AND NARENDRA MODI: THE SIMILARITIES: Both leaders have created a personality cult around them. Both leaders have learned what hardship through external factors mean for common people. Both leaders have grown through the ranks known as tough administrators that take hard decisions. Both leaders have a strong cultural heritage, pride and nationalism of their citizens. Both leaders have the support of almost 1.4 billion people that optimistic of the sustainability of their future and willing to work hard towards it. We cannot imagine what would happen to the planet of Xi or Modi would be climate denier like Trump.
15:52 CHINA'S COMMITMENT: China has invested 4 times more capacity than EU, US or India. They are the biggest producer and buyer of renewable energy. China is of course a top-down ecological nation, which makes all the difference to implement capacity, although it does at times challenge the biodiversity of nature.
17:18 Do we have enough time for a democratic debate on climate change is the question? The result is that China is becoming the green factory and supply chain of the world, which we will not be able to decouple from this decade if the West wants to reach climate goals by 2050.
The biggest issue for the world is however overpopulation and overconsumption, and China is part of the problem there too.
21:58 INDIA'S COMMITMENT: India is less responsible of overconsumption because its part of their VEDIC mindset of a sustainable ecosystem. Tradition in India is relying on local and seasonal food, recycling of materials, eco-friendly buildings and conservation of water and other scarce resources. Modi, who is of Hindu faith leading the BJP that is strongly based on Hindutva ideoology believes in moderation and conservation since Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy.
26:00 This is why Modi created the L.I.F.E. movement for Pro-Planet People to come up with ideas to change people's lifestyle in a sustainable world. He can do that, because his track record is great on making efforts to do energy transition despite India being the fastest growing large economy on the world for this decade. India is one of the few countries on track on reaching climate goals as one example. But most important is that Modi's support is incredible big because inclusion of poor people into society.
30:16 INFLUENCE OF CHINA AND INDIA: India is leading G20 in 2023, and Modi is putting saving the planet as top of the agenda. India can really guide the world how to change our lifestyle and about moderations, while China can teach the world how to take a top-down approach to invest in renewables. The only condition is to remain open to both India's tradition and keep buying green products from China for the coming decade.

Both China & India were once significant civilizations that influenced global trade...both in recent last centuries experienced imperialistic aggression and in the last few decades have begun to rise again as a global powerhouse of significant influence. Both have significant cultures that frame their societies ability to endure adversity and rise above the disadvantages that affect their development.
What exactly India exported that influenced global trade, can you name just one thing, only one thing, any? Opium produced by British colonial government was the only globally influential export commodity ever from India, is this something you are proud of? We all know China has many inventions (e.g. mass steel production, fine textile machines, printing machine, paper money, gunpowder, transocean ship technologies, arch bridges, canal, water paddy rice farming, etc.) and products (e.g, silk, chinaware, tea, paper, gunpowder, etc.) that greatly influenced the whole world, without Chinese inventions there couldn't be any industrial revolution in Europe which modernized the world. What inventions by India greatly influenced or modernized the whole world?
Please study ancient history, China was the only one that had massive international trade with many parts of the world, but where was India? India has always closed itself to outside, it had almost no trade with other civilizations, only when the Indo-Europeans from Central Asia migrated to the regions now northern part of India then India got out of stone age. Indo-Europeans introduced metallurgy and other technologies to Indians. Even the Indian Classical Sanskrit language is based on Indo-European Vedic Sanskrit.
Please be realistic, be truthful, don't boast or spread disinformation.
Indian civilization is old, but India the country was born out of British colonization, and India continued territorial ambitious over Tibet was what led to India-China dispute.
@@pomodoro385 yes 2 face Chinee are so trustworthy 😅
@@pomodoro385 "India and territorial ambitions" you could not have lied more than this.
😂
@@arofficial3344 India's territorial claim is based on British colonial expansion. The region bordering Tibet were independent tribes annexed by British, later denied independence by India thru military will, now known as Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). Nehru even wanted more than the line drew by British, ordered troops to establish outpost beyond Mchanon Line, which led to 1962 war. India also claimed Aksai Chin which was not disputed by British.
Recently someone online asked me why I hope to see India rise so much when I'm a pro-China half-Chinese. I explained that China and India are two neighbors trying to cross the same river. Any path and any ideas found by one will benefit the other, even if they are competing. By learning from each other, they can reduce each other's mistakes and pains by half.
China and India share many similar challenges: a huge population to bring out of poverty, the need to modernize while preserving their traditions and cultures, and achieving all this without wrecking the planet. The fact that they have adopted different paths is that much more beneficial: China through its top-down, technology and engineering-focused approach, and India through its more bottom-up, grassroots ecological initiatives approach.
True ❤️
only difference is you can't trust Indian's,
Fact is Chinese don't view Indian as their enemy but the same cannot be said of the cowbelt Indian.

China must stop acting like an huge AHOLE. Re naming Indian cities Chinese is a slap in India's face. Good news is the world is uniting against China - and the games are over
China will continue to rise and improves the world, while democratic India is so super corrupted it's hopeless.
I do hope at least India and China can join forces to save the planet.
India used to be corrupted as China was. China is getting better as is India on tackling corruption. These changes take time.

India does have the right to pursue economic development and lift its people out of poverty.
Rather than focusing on blame, it's more productive for Western countries to engage in constructive dialogue and collaboration with India and other developing countries to find solutions that benefit everyone. This could involve providing financial and technological support to help developing countries transition to cleaner energy sources, sharing best practices for sustainable development, and working together to develop global agreements and initiatives to combat climate change.
Democracy means one pod cast too many in India where verbosity simply overrides everything on its path! Truth or otherwise, rather like the West, especially US and UK who are using their past reputation to tell half lies!

But first, China and India must not destroy each other 🎉
That is a prerequisite indeed
For the time being for the sake of achieving mutual prosperity, they must put aside their differences until such time.
Because both of these countries are destroyers?
I am slightly more sanguine than you. Now, India can see how evil and self-centred the US is. And India should know by now that if it grows and, like China now, and its economy is going to overtake the US economy, then it will also suffer the same unwarranted attacks by the US. Hopefully, Russia can bring China and India together, just like China bringing Saudi Arabia and Iran together.

I think you can trust Chinese who will save the planet,
Just a few words for Chinese
"Baby calm down, calm down, your running too fast, when u fall it will b a great storm"
on the other hand appreciation goes to INDIA in MODERATION and CONSERVATION, Jai Hind.
Yeah, Save the planet By manufacturing more & more unnecessary single use cheap plastic craps/goods.
Very impressed with your knowledge of Bharat (Vedic etc ) ❤
Thanks
Yeah ! It's so true we always try to reuse every single thing in our home doesn't matter who is rich or poor.😊 it's part of our culture to not waste anything.
We worship land , plants, trees ,soil, animals , sky, sun, moon etc in shot everything that mother nature has given us.😊
In many parts of India many farmers don't sell their land bcoz soil is our mother & nobody can trade their own mother.❤
U can also see animals in streets freely wondering, people offer them food & it is forbidden to use violence on any animal in normal cases. Since india is a land of diversity so each animal is sacred to any the other community!
Also worship Rivers, forests, planets including mother earth, food, etc (there may be few more but i remember just these for now) in our Indian/Sanatan culture.
This was a well researched and detailed explanation of what we Indians (and hopefully Chinese too) think and trying to do.
As a Indians we have no grudge towards china as in ancient times both the Chinese scholars, Indian scholars, monks , traders used to visit both of countries. We have learnt from each other from the ancient times, and helped each other too .... But problem with China is with the land . It's occupied our land and even now claiming our land as their territory. That's the only problem. Chinese govt needs to give back askai chin region to India and stop it's claim on arunachal where the sun rises first in India.
He never talked about tibet though. No Indian claims it either. Just Arunachal Pradesh and Akshai chin
@sam sam yeah but time changes, we cannot go by that approach bcz Pakistan, Afghanistan and half Iran was also the part of India in older times, but we don't protest or show aggression to claim that land back
@sam sam The thing is the history you are talking about is a communist propaganda history, If you are really intersted in history read through it you need to go deep in it to find the truth
@samsam-lo5eeactually, no. Tibet's culture was really close to India from ancient times. Many famous Monks in India were from tibet.
China after CCP take over actually plundered Tibet a lot and it's a fact.
@sam sam by ur logic we can claim entire indian subcontinent from Kurdistan to mayanmar Hills...
Yes. Surely ❤
Wonderful.
Many thanks!

Very good Mr. Pascal
Your analysis of the Indian, or rather, the Hindu philosophy of conservation, even minimalism is well grounded
One error there though, we are not changing our style but rather, we are REVERTING to our roots, discarding the recently imbibed Abrahamic take take consume consume way of thinking
🙏
Thanks for adding this. I did mean changing lifestyle of the world by taking India's tradition as example.
@@PascalCoppens The biggest problem with Abrahmic mindset is that it sees things in black and white. Either you are against us or with us. If you subscribe to our ideology than you get heaven otherwise hell. Thats not how Hindu philosophy works. Hindu thought is the most liberal. It believes in let us all grow together. universe is a one big happy family. Hindu believes in what you sow you shall reap. Your Karma will decide. Hindus do not believe in absolute evil or absolute good. They believe in people are often oscillating between the two. Poverty did shake our morals to low. Invasion of Abrahmic religions and Colonialism almost broke us, and made us lose our cultural heritage and philosophy. But now we are going back to our roots and philosophy. All thanks to Modi. Other wise Hindus felt guilty for their own oppression. We believe in middle path. If it were upto Russia and US world would have witnessed third world war.
@@thethreespikes9737 but people in West sends missionary to convert hindus in india
@@thethreespikes9737 Yup, For all these years after multiple outsider's specially lsIamic invasion, christian missionaries & british colonisation, etc We were made feel guilty and apologetic even just for being Sanatani and keep holding tight our roots of this ancient land even if some may remained in distorted form. We see that things can be grey too, we have no necessary rules of do's dont's to follow aka not see world limited in black or white but free to see, think, understand beyond that, we don't believe in Any living being is absolute devil or absolute great..we believe there's part of some evil & god in everyone, so to end evil or make evil not dominate over divine part of person's inner-most self/persona we must get rid of evilness inside (and not rid of the living being itself) and let happen the self-realization of own inner divinity by the person.
Thanks for giving reality every 🇮🇳indian.
The fact that india and china has most gdp contribution and most literacy rate before the whole west is discovered
Oh yes, China and India have been here for thousands of years. USA which you include saying West has only been a nation for 245 years, the world benifits the USA have contributed are tremendous! So now suddenly after the USA has given China and India all these innovations India and China are going to save the world? Hardly!
Ancient GDP is based on population size, not real data. Neither was there any literacy rate data. If written record is any proof, India produced very written literature compared to other ancient civilizations. Most are oral folklore. Example, India didn't even record its own history until 1200AD onwards when Muslims arrived.

I've managed somehow to miss quite a few of your vids recently, so it's nice to find you again. As someone from the UK, I was feeling a bit uneasy on this topic. It is blindingly obvious that we all need to work together to save the planet and really it doesn't matter who has the good ideas provided someone does. Unfortunately, as a imperial power our mindset was always "how can we extract maximum economic advantage from our colonies?" Sharing ideas and best practise requires a degree of humility and openness which I'm not sure comes naturally to us. And we are not at the helm of dollar-controlled hegemony....
It's difficult to understand why some westerners are quick to blame China and India for exacerbating our climate crisis. Even though their side is the most rabid of climate deniers and misinformation, they would still pin blame to China and India. If only they knew that a lot of laws and policies passed by their government are actually against their interest and the environment. Is it really far easier to blame a foreign country than your own corrupt government and greedy corporations?
So far, of all the countries, it seems Australia is the worst of all. It's unbelievable to witness a person condemning China and India for the climate crisis at the same time denying the crisis is real. Whatever fumes those Aussies are breathing, I am certain it isn't healthy.
Yes. And all the efforts of India and China would gone in a flash if the US starts another war somewhere. Someone should measure the GHG output from the one year of war in Ukraine.

In India this is known that Humans are different than animals in just one feature - we can raise the consciousness of our mind . In all other terms the humans are similar to animals - animals do have soul ,mind and a part of Ishvar ( hindu God) within them . That is Vedic philosophy.
That said , India does have a pollution problem - just like every other country .
So the problem is actually the consumption based economic models that were created in west to support capitalism .
Indians are not that much capitalist , instead Indian government should try to create an alternate economic model for our businesses, so we could avoid getting in the trap that the western society faces today.

I fully agree with your analysis. The world will have to look to China and India to cooperate on the global challenges as US will be bogged down by powerful climate change deniers
Over time, it's inevitable that China and India will realize that it's ridiculous for two most populous neighbours not to synergize with each others. The pressure of supporting their huge populations and the effects of drought and flood will ensure their collaboration.
But a few factors will delay that process.
1. Western media are prevalent in the Indian media space. They divide India and China capitalizing on the border disputes.
2. The ruling and media elites in India are mostly trained in the West. Many have worked overseas in the West and have children and families there too. Hence, India has an inclination towards the West that inhibit criss border cooperation with China.
However over time, the pressure to engage with each other out of necessity will be felt.
And when these two economies collaborate, they will make a huge difference on climate change and global prosperity.
Thanks for adding. I do see change happening in India, but agree if India and China would work together this would make a dent in the universe.
India needs to become a full blown authoritarian state like China for any major co-operation between the two. My bet is India will side with the US more and more going forward. But the India aspiration is to replace China as the world factories when that happen or if that happened I don't think that India can claim the highroad as you're saying right now.
Agreed. And I don't think Indian government could ever have such a tight control over their big corporations as China does. China dares to shut down factories for not complying with the "green" rules. Not sure India would be able to do it. Being a democracy, they always have to make sure not to jeopardize their positions of power. And corruption is still a huge problem in India.
Who told you that is India's goal to be world factory? Nope. Not at all. It is a temporary requirement or shall I say and illusion. Not a dream by long shot. There's a bigger game Mr. Modi is playing which is deep rooted in Indian civilizational values/desires/requirements. And that is btw very incompatible with export led economy model in today's world.

It is a disease of the times.
Congrats on your newly renovated home.
Thanks! I live in a 200 year old house (was from my grandparents) in center of medieval city and wanted to restore and keep as much as possible. Big project, but happy it is coming to an end.
Sir it not polluted by vehicle farmers and also Diwali cracker which after winter which combination with fog created with pollution
How many days diwali lasts?? Crackers contribute merely 4% in pollution.
Year 2022 like many years saw increase even 15 days before Diwali.
Farm stubble burning 35%
a river in China will be divided into smaller administrative block with a dedicated "river officer". his/her contact info will be posted along the river block they guard so that people can report situation like pollution even damping rubb in river to them. 😊
Somethig that gets overlooked all the time is that, cheap fast comsumption from west is actually directly forcing the local governments in the global south to keep their environmental laws complacent to polluting industries. If any local government tightens up their laws or the implementation of it, they will shift production to keep producing cheaper and threaten the job market.
So this is not something the producing countries alone can control, if the buyer only flock to cheap polluting production.
So if you are from the west, buy less, invest in products after really reasearching and see if the company is fully transparent about its entire supply chain; if it isn't, its probably flaunting regulations. Productiom cannot cover all bases without responsible consumerism co-operating with the effort.
No one can save planet, except two person....Yu n Me...
Right map of india
Planet and environment needs love and care for everything /everyone. That's impossible with only Vito Powers.
Trump said Americans should buy things made in America. He asks why should we Americans be buying almost everything from China, even having our American companies having the factories in China? Trump don't seem to understand why!
Not rocket science though! Biden said same thing at his 100 days state of union

I have not installed any yet, as we are only doing the interieur now. Exterior is for next year, but we will place solar panels on the roof as we have room for. For interior, we have been focused on insulation for sure. But a 200 year old house with city restrictions makes it hard to go energy efficient all the way as we can't and don't want to change the original architecture or materials that are still in good order.
Any Country should not be ashamed to cooperate with their Foes to work for others. Have your diff. But come together in order to save the world or save other countries in troubleI would listen to you all day. Keep making videos now. Its a huge request. Both country people need you to give the neutral perspective about their country

It is time to talk peace and development between India and China. Let us propose the idea of 100-100-100, i.e. India army will be 100 miles into India side from LAC, China army will be 100 miles into China side from LAC and this status will last for 100 years. Missiles and more missiles, all for what?
India and China, two of the largest and most populous nations in the world, have a complex relationship with a history of conflicts and tensions. However, it's important for both nations to strive towards friendship and cooperation, not just for their own benefit, but for the betterment of the whole world.
One way to achieve this goal is by making the border between India and China disappear, symbolizing the breaking down of barriers and the start of a new era of cooperation. This can be accomplished by having the armies of both nations stationed 100 miles away from the border, creating a buffer zone for peaceful relations.
Additionally, creating a thousand points of exchange between the two countries would allow for greater cultural exchange and understanding. People from both nations could visit each other, learn about each other's customs, and do whatever they wish. This would help to break down stereotypes and promote mutual respect, leading to a more peaceful world.
In conclusion, a friendship between India and China has the potential to greatly benefit not only the two nations themselves, but also the entire world. By breaking down borders and promoting cultural exchange, we can work towards a more harmonious and peaceful future.
Compare the amount of products produced in India and China for the world’s consumption.
Lets have a look at CO2 per output. The catastrophy in the making is if India grows on coal
🇮🇳INDIA IS MOST POWERFUL 🇮🇳
Very astute indeed. I really like how you said that the planet doesn't care about what the per capita emissions are or whether the West has polluted more in the past, so it'll "give a chance" to China and India to pollute as well, which is a silly and childish argument I hear all too often. BTW, please be careful not to confuse _America_ (which is the continent that consists of North and South America) with _the US_ (which is a country in America; hence, United States _of America_ being its name).
IDK they have some much issue to solver internaly :/ i wish the best for them but saving the world w/o saving themselves....? Ilogical.
