Need longer cables to separate those drivers off the board. That’s the only thing I can see as a drawback and the bars attaching the boards are attached too could be a lil bit less. Which with that and the drivers off will lighten the load by a vast amount.
Your videos Are very inspiring. Hopefully you make more soon. Because I love your layout. You're very particular and stuff. I love it. Please make more videos. And I would like to see some more finished products if youtube allows it
Thank you so much! I don’t post much here because I don’t like editing, I’m not good with computers. I’m very active on instagram if you wanna follow. @prestonbjornson I’m taking a couple months off for the summer but I’ll be back at it September. 👊💚💯
What happened with the v2 light? I was pretty curious about that. I currently run homemade lights similar to the borg at 1,000W but I cant save the spectrums with a standard controller but would love to make a controller that could do the work eventually. I have a Sekonic C-7000 and I tailor my settings using it then log the setting that I create on my laptop so when it's time to load a new program, I can just plug the module into my laptop and load it. My lights have 4,872 diodes with my base diodes being Samsung LM301H Evo on dimmer 1, Dimmer 2 handles red and photo red, Channel 3 is royal blue, Channel 4 is 730nm far red, Channel 5 is IR, and Channel 6 is UV-A and UV-B. All 6 channels are on different meanwell drivers so I can kick them on or off at different times and set each individual channel's maximum output via custom digital dimmers. Studies have shown that that far red is a trigger mechanism for plants to wake up and go to sleep so 15 minutes before lights on, my controller kicks on the 730nm diodes. This make the plants "wake up". Then 15 minutes later, channels 1,2,3 and 5 come on in 10%-6 minute intervals until they reach full power. Each channel's full power is dependent on what the maximum value is that I have set for whatever stage of growth they are in. So more blue and less red during veg and then the other way around for bloom with a neutral area during transition, etc. Still experimenting for the best results as far as the total mix. During Bloom, the UV channel ramps up the same way as the main channels from 10% to 100 percent in 6 minute intervals as well and they start 3 hours after the main channels reach 100%. They run for 4 hours and begin dialing back down for an hour until they are off then the main lights do the same until they are off. After that the far red channel stays on full power for 15 minutes and it goes dark for the night. CO² doesnt kick on until lights are at 100% and kicks off as soon as the the main channel dials back down to 50% of full power. Lastly because of the sunrise/sunset powering sequence, I actually run 20.5/3.5 and 14.5/9.5 for veg and flower respectively if I am counting from the very time the first diodes fire up and the last shut down. It has proven to be a pretty nice set-up for my 4 light room and am pretty damned proud of myself for creating it and staying under my 4,000 dollar budget. I pulled the Apogee MQ-500 out when I got the first one built and did a 4x4 map in a 6" grid and @ 24" it hit a ppf of 2,682µ/mol with the darkest corner reading 1,126 µ/mol. so I think they could do some work with CO² in a 5x5 footprint as well. I actually watched your vid on the RDWC system because I obviously like to make things myself and I loved it so keep the content coming and I can't wait to see the new light if it's still in the works.
Hello CannaBjornson, just subscribed to your channel! I am thinking on getting either the Vulcan or the long leg. I was wondering if you can tell me which of the two runs cooler as heat management is an issue in my grow setup (roughly a 4 x 4 space). And after running the two lamps, what do you favour - the Vulcan or the Long Leg? Thanks for the great vid!
I like the Long legs better for the coverage at lower heights. I’ve never been able to run these lights past 80% with 8’ ceiling’s. The Vulcan has been my highest yielder so far with an impressive 3.88lbs dry per light in my 5x5 last run. The long legs have been averaging 3.25lbs per light over the past couple grows. I’ll be testing out two Tarantula Borgs next run and I’m very excited to have a fully tunable light that is a 1500 watt with all the bells and whistles.
Let me know how it goes with the bird would love to see some videos are you on instagram ? My borg will be here Friday would love to compare notes on different spectrums
They are two channel, 730nm reds on the second channel, IP 66 waterproof. No paper like HLG. You can power wash these lights if you really wanted. They use top bin diodes from Samsung and Osram. They have a really solid build and noticeably better than any other high end light I’ve owned. Sorry for the late reply!
Hey! Sorry I haven’t been posting much content here due to my editing frustrations lol. If you want to see the room in action and much more content I’m super active on instagram @prestonbjornson Have an awesome day👊💚💯
I set my personal best with the Vulcan boards. 3.88 dry lbs, 6 week Veg. My ceilings are 8’ tall. If you are growing in a tent the bar style will work best for coverage at a 6’ tent height. If you grow in a tent I’d highly suggest checking out the Tarantula Tent Ultimate. It has thee most even ppfd coverage across the canopy. There’s no other light that compares when you look at the par maps. I have one in my 5x5 now and I’ve personally tested it with my par meter.

Hey what do you use for a ph up ? I've been having a problem with ph drops to about 5.5 and I have to use a lot of PH up I'm using crop salt with running clean and a bit of bleach and also a UV light. So I'm suspecting a pathogen. But I'm not too sure but the roots look fine. Water Chiller at66°There's no sign of past. I don't know if I got a bad batch. Of cropsalt or something 😢
I’m guessing you are in mid flower? It is completely normal for your pH to drop significantly when the plants are feeding heavy on PK. I’m using a diluted 10:1 pH up from Green Planet.
@@cannabjornson5230 I agree, but and I'm not sure. But the EC rises and the PH drops. I understand they use water which causes the e. C to go up and leave the salts in the water.
Wow what a beautiful room! Everything looks top notch! Impressive can’t wait to see what you can do!
Thanks! I’m active on Instagram and I hope to be creating more content on RUclips next run. My insta is @cannabjornson

You will get better coverage with the long leg and they seem to run cooler than the Vulcans. Both lights are absolute beasts!

Does the Vulcan use Samsung diodes?
Yes they do, top bin diodes. The new fixtures coming out in April will have the addition of Evo diodes. The Nitro and Borg.
Thanks brother
