This has been extremely helpful!! I was always confused as to how one would accomplish this technique . Thank you kindly for sharing your talent and time.
Hi Diana I really wish I’d seen this video before I finished my last jumper. The pattern stated add the v neck band with the right side facing, meaning you sew down the band on the right side. Your method is so much neater, I will do this on all my jumpers in future. On an adult jumper, would a garter bar work to move all the stitches. Thank you for all your videos, they are so helpful for a rusty returning machine knitter.
Hi Diana! I’m curious…for the front neckline edges am i to pick up every single stitch? meaning the V’s and the knots? or am i just picking up the V’s. Thank you !
For the sie edge of knitting, I usually pick up 3 rows and skip one. Every other row (loops only) is too few, and the loops are just a half stitch from the edge. I like to go with a whole stitch from the edge to make the neckband join sturdy.
How did you know I have been asked this week to do a Vneck and that I have always avoided them??? Thanks so much, I really appreciate your videos and use them myself and provide links to them frequently on Knitter's Paradise for other knitters....thanks again.
Yes, it'll work fine for a man's or a woman's sweater, either one. The center V will be the same and you'll need lmore stitches around the neck. Work a sample of the hem that forms most of the neckband in your neckband tension and use that to figure out how many stitches around the neck.
@@dianaknits would I not just count the stitches round the neck. Eg it says to cast off remaining 43 st on neck and the v is 50 st either side or am I doing it wrong
@@christinegarman8457 Measure the neck opening, multiply that by the stitches per inch in a sample, use 90% of that, and that's your number of stitches. With a V you have some stitches at the edge and some sides of rows, so you have to work with a measurement.
Grazie

How do you do this on the ribber? The same way??
Yes, it's very similar, but a little more difficult as you must move knit stitches on the main bed and purl stitches on the ribber.
hah! of course!
