Those so called wilderness years were created cos we lost Donington Reading Nostell Priory and all the other serious Rock festivals we all grew up with and so much loved. instead we got festivals like Glastonberry Leeds which OK the younger gen might like, but they are hardly what we would call rock festivals. The days when I remember you had Ozzy Leppard Tull on the same line up, cant remember now but those were the days, the events the shows and I guess it must be 30 years since I last went to one.

That's complete bullshit on both counts. Rock 'n roll had a lot to do with country as well as blues. Bill Haley was in country bands before the Comets.
