1 way you can do which is something i have been doing since working is to keep track of credit card spending in your phone. Create a page of note and write down the total of each credit card usage to date. meaning whenever you spend on a card, go update the note immediately. this way u can find out immediately how much you have spent so far on different card before the statement is out for you to have an idea how much you have spent this month. you can also track your card points and the payment due date and amount there as well....... once pay off the card, update the note "paid $580.38 on march 12 due on march 18" something like that and continue to sum up the spending before the next statement is out.....

Alison excel tracking is indeed another level higher than mine, I do track my entire NetWorth flow using excel monthly too but I didn't track till the future years level yet.
Is it possible to share with us your excel tracking template?

Holllllld up. While calling the bank to waive annual fee is true, it is only possible if you had clocked a considerable amount before. There are instances where you can tell them "oh you don't want to waive then I cancel the card lor". But it doesn't always work. For example, shitty bank. I didn't hit their spend quota to waive off the annual fee and still had to pay before they could cancel the card.

no such thing, u can just cancel without paying unless if you already drag past the due date. Therefore it's important to also check your transactions before the statement is out.....

Alison is really mature and savvy for her age, others that are older than her might not even have the same concepts

I feel the monthly excel tracking might not be very efficient. Usually, I will only track for 3 months on a start of a new job/pay raise OR when I noticed a huge inflation, as usually only these situations are things that will influence your spending habits. On normal days, your spending behavior shouldn't defer too much, unless you are someone who is super adventurous and consistency doesn't suit u.
