  • This video goes over how to make your own Digital Evaluation Board (DEB). The professor at Penn State (Oren Gall) that teaches CMPEN 270 has a monopoly over this board and in my option he should be fired. He takes advantage of students every semester by forcing them to use a device from a company that he owns and gets to take all of the profit from.
Here is a list of parts so you can build the board and pass his class.
Parts need to build the DEB:
    2x bread boards
A bunch of Male to Male wires
    10x blue LED's 5mm
    4x green LED's 5mm
    4x tactile buttons
    4x 10k Ohms Resistors
    1x 555 Timer IC
    2x 100k Ohms Resistors
    1x 4.7 uF Capacitor
5 volt power supply (an Arduino works great for this)
Then throughout the class you will need 2 of each of these chips to build the homework and lab circuits.

    02 - NOR
    04 - NOT
    08 - AND
    32 - OR
    86 - XOR

    138 - Decoder (3:8)
    74 - D Flip Flop
    112 - JK Flip Flop
