My Grandson just completed basic training last week. He wanted his education. He came to see me twice right before he left. I talked to him as much as I could. He said he had thought about it for over a year and had made his decision. I'm praying all the time, for him, and our country.

His twin sister has been serving in the Army for almost 5 years , done 1 tour in the ME, been to a country when and where we were told we didnt have any boots on the ground... Praying for our children... IF our politicians kids and grandkids were forced to serve we wouldn't be getting into another war!
I'm 71, and have 'normie' friends. I have ONE new friend who is on exactly the same wavelength as me. Believe me, it makes all the difference. Don't give up. There is someone just like you out there who needs you as you need them.
I know a kid who joined the Marines ( at 17) I tried to stop him. I even told him it was not a crime if he did not show up. Sad I feel like that about " defending" our country.😢😢😢

I have lost 34 pounds since January and only have 5.5 more to go before reaching my goal weight. Getting my appendix out in January was my springboard. And all I am doing is eating REAL food, not processed at all and intermittent fasting. It has worked for me.

I am a 54 yo female veteran. Served in the Army Reserves as a nurse. Was deployed during Desert Storm to Saudi Arabia. I served proudly and left my husband and 3 month old son at the time. But I absolutely agree with you in that women do not belong in combat at all. Even though we knew it was a possibility, he was a male, but it didn’t make us happy and so many didn’t come back. Our country was built on the lives of our young men. Doesn’t mean it’s right!! NO women are not meant for war. But, I don’t think they should be in male sports or males in females sports!! What’s wrong in America!!
My neighbor is a drill sgt at a miliary base here in San Antonio and my daughter teaches at that bases high school. The Drill Sgt told me last weekend they graduated 150 cadets that Friday and on Monday 350 new recruits were starting, so there are some youngsters signing up, but at the high school on base out of 150 graduates, only 4 signed up. I think you see military guys don't push their kids that way. Over 2/3 of the graduates of the high school had over a 90% grade equivalent, the military famlies push for high grades and college, not signing up. However, if you go to one of the largest isd's in San Antonio with over 650 graduates, half will be signing up for military and they get recognized for it just as if they had a scholarship from a major university.
I don't think they'll have a college deferment like they did in Viet Nam, so isn't that avenue even taking a chance. Well, at least they're steering their kids away from the USmil.
Me to I know many who will defend them on there front porches dying then let their kids go. Might turn into a war here over this. People are saying they would rather die fighting against them than for them.

I have 3 sons. My middle son was in the army and sent to Iraq. He made it home but came back a different man. PTSD is real and it is absolutely heartbreaking what it does. Not just to the one with it but the immediate family suffers just as much. His wife divorced him and they had 3 children. He hasn’t spoke to me in over 10 years. I tried to get him help but he wouldn’t stay on his meds. Once I knew he was homeless and living in the woods I managed to get him home and had him help through the VA. It didn’t last long and I came home from work and he was gone. My other 2 sons never went into the military but they did try to help their brother as well. I don’t want this for your daughters. It’s bad enough for our sons.

When women fought for equal rights, I don't think they thought of the consequences. Also all the males that identify as women will still be drafted. But if history repeats itself, many will be running to Canada or elsewhere, then after all is said and done they'll be given amnesty... just like Vietnam. But who's to say the battle won't even be on our own soil whether it is foreign born or civil strife. Pray for peace, pray for wisdom on how to pray.

I retired from the military and many in my family have served in military. It's a tradition in my family to serve our country. I have four children, two of which are military age. I told my kids to not join, because this isn't the America we thought it was. We don't think that they should risk their lives for a country that has lost its way and values. America needs to wake up and repent and make changes before it's to late. We need to take care of our own citizens, before we take care of other nations. America is in a financial crisis and we need to fix that problem. All these new immigrants need to be enlisted into the military, since they want to be here.
And we have no idea how many terrorist walked across the southern border. SHTF could happen any minute. I have 6 grandsons. Oldest is 21 youngest is 12. Only granddaughter is 14 so all are right there in the for selective service.
My 31 year old son (who served in the army and is currently finishing college using the benefits that he earned) and I were having this exact conversation just this morning. It’s painfully obvious that common sense and what’s good for the people of this country are not part of our government’s decision making process at this point!
