Thank you so much Gloria ❤️💎✌️. Never heard this version before. I‘m from Germany and therefore only got to see them once in Munich. I’m 64 and love to listen to Poco since my graduation. Thank you Gloria for the Story behind this Version and for your love putzige this Video together.
This Song is not just brilliantly sung and written, it tells the story of a great performer that cared for his listeners and loved singing to them. May you Rest in Peace Paul Cotton the World is Weeping.
I'm just crying my eyes out. Everytime i find out! Someone I saw in concert has passed away. I saw Poco at Boulder Stadium Boulder Colorado. 1978 . The Doobie Brothers , Heart, Poco, Boston. An Bob Welsh.
I was living in New Orleans when this song came out and it so perfectly captures the essence of the city. I returned many years later and couldn’t quit listening to this masterpiece while I was visiting. I don’t think there is an experience any where quite like the full moon rising over lake Pontchatrain in the cool falling rain, the heavy humid night air, the smells and the relief from the daytime heat, truly the heart of the night is the best time of the day in New Orleans. Poco has blessed so many lives with their music. Thank you!
You’re welcome!!! I’m a native New Orleanian and grew up listening to so many genres of music with Poco being one of them. I enjoyed reading what this song means to you and you are right…the scorching summer days do make the heart of the night time the right time to cool down! Best!!! G
@@GloriaMoncada I'm getting quite old and I want to visit New Orleans one more time. It's my favorite city of all time. This song gives me that vibe and I think I'll follow through on it.
Funny I was so so young like pre teen when this came out always loved it never knew poco was from here and that cotton was from Harvey and his family had store I heard . but took 2 decades for me to really understand these lyrics .
AFAIC'd, Poco was one of the most underrated bands to come out of American't. Their album LEGEND, is simply one of the best collections of numbers I have ever heard, and I am a 69 yr old hard rocker from South Africa. Sad that " power struggles" an egos, 2 of mankinds' biggest downfalls, exist in rock music, as well as polisicks. There is no hope humanity, Jesus, so come back, asap.
Paul Cotton was a terrific songwriter, singer and guitar player. His solo albums Firebird and The coast is clear are amazing. Beautiful acoustic version, thanks for uploading this.
Just found this version of a wonderful song , , sweet memories of people I have met and places I have seen , and a sadness that we cant bring that time back , Thank you for posting
Somehow this song popped on YT when I was listening to Jimmy Buffett (who just sadly passed). Poco was, and is one of my all time favorites, coming from a born and bred Miamian.
What a great band Poco is ! I saw them in Cleveland one of the Theaters Downtown 1979 -80. Soon after the release of the LEGEND album . I stilll have the album , Heart of the Night ,Crazy Love ,. Thanks Paul (rip) and all of Poco for the wonderful music and memories it inspires.

This a Great rendition in acoustics, I also met the members of POCO about 10 years ago. They were approachable and I got autographs on their greatest hit.
Gawd, he was so good. Miss him so. I always take his song with me beach camping and play it late at night with the surf pounding in the background. Can't tell you how good it sounds there. Thank you Paul. And, thank you Gloria for posting your nicely done tribute. Just received my mint 2 CD of 1979 "No Nukes" which I feel has the best version of this song. I know now I have lived in the right era of time.
You’re welcome! We had to evacuate from Hurricane Ida in 2021 and wound up in Florida. I made it to the Keys and as I exited Key West this version played on Pirate Radio. I had never heard this version and the radio station sent me the mp3. It’s truly beautiful and made me appreciate Paul Cotton immensely. It has such a soothing quality to it.
Thanks for sharing. I've always enjoyed listening to Poco since I was growing up as a tween in the mid 70's. Recently I've been listening to Paul's solo career & this version is terrific.
My pleasure!! I was very young too listening to one of those “light rock less talk” radio stations where I heard Poco’s music. I’m a native New Orleanian and the song became one of my favorites as I grew older experiencing the city. Glad it reached you and so many!!
You’re welcome!! I was around 6 years old listening to the radio and older by the time I appreciated more. Love all the Poco fans responding and glad this beautiful acoustic version has reached so many.

Old Country Rockers never die, they just continue playing in Heaven with all the others of all genres.;)
If the Bible is accurate on how people get to Heaven, then there will not be many rock stars there.
Boy this song will give him the Credit he needs . What a Great Song . ❤❤❤
We are losing so many of the great musicians like these guys. It’s bittersweet

The Poco album cover for this song was designed and drawn by the late Phil Hartman (SNL).
Had the album, 8 track, cassette and cd. Love this song.
Surprisingly no mentions Illinois of Speed Press and the fantastic P.N.S, which is under appreciated
Thank you! Love POCO, have every album, Rusty's album, Paul's album. Never heard this version.
