Peter Mackin I’m 15 and I just rebuilt a Europe and it’s fun and all but the boom just seems to low. The 300 looks super fast and sleek how heavy do I need to be
@@adamcatlow7496 65 kg is at the very low end but it is doable. The rig is very flexible. The main thing with an RS300 is being willing to make and learn from mistakes. There's no hiding in one of these, but the reward is worth it!
The RS300 weighs about 70kg fully rigged and is sailed by people weighing from 100kg. There is a sweetshop in Sailor weight at around 80-85kg. The sail area is similar to the Finn but that's about where the similarities end! It's a fast and exciting singlehander that keeps you on your toes!
This boat looks similar to the moth before the moth was developed into a foiling boat.
Designed by Clive Everest a very well known moth design pre foiling, like a suped up lowrider super fast
whats the age range of sailors in this class
From about 18 to over 60 years. National Champ is probably a few years past 60. Lots of the top guys in mid to late 50's.
I got my first 300 at 16 and never looked back. Drop me a message if you have any questions or join our facebook group!
