We really need a game like this again. (multiplayer)

Do a web search for soap box race world. I would not recommend World United server, as it is setup to take a very long time to level up, buy cars or parts (like 40+ hours of grinding just to buy one set of the best performance parts (35.8 million in game cash)). World Online reborn has the least amount of grinding, and Nite Riderz is reasonable.

@@rcgldr I did that ( github.com/SoapboxRaceWorld/GameLauncher_NFSW/releases/tag/2.1.3.8 ) - it's really fun playing although I find the prices for high end parts too cheap. After half a day of playing I got my fully upgraded S-Class car and don't really know what I should play for anymore. Also I wonder how they get the money for their servers since there are absolutely no options for real life purchases (which is good compared to EA-behaviour...).

@@Hoch134 - It depends on what you goal is. For some players the point of a racing game is the gameplay, the actual events with fully upgraded cars for each class, not grinding to level up, buy cars, and parts. With the older NFS games, and almost all sim-oriented racing games, online racing is separate from career mode, with the online cars and parts being free. Some of the sim-oriented games don't even have a career mode. If you don't find World's actual game play (single player events, multi-player events) with fully upgraded cars for each class interesting, then what is the point of spending weeks of time grinding up to get those cars and parts if you don't actually like the game?

@@rcgldr The thing is that events aren't really a thing here since there are only 40 players online. I loved the team escapes but yet I am doing them as single player events since nobody is online.
Also, they disabled traffic completely and police traffic (with induced pursuits) were disabled before they turned off the servers.
So currently it's a single player game with some multiplayer aspect and many available cars.
A higher grinding aspect, especially considering Elite parts would be more interesting for me, but you are right. It's a good thing that cars are available and that you can upgrade them as you wish.

@@Hoch134 - What server are you using? There should be traffic in what were open events in the EA days. Police traffic in free roam was removed by EA back in Nov 2011, since players were complaining about triggering pursuits while doing treasure hunts. Depending on the server, for team escapes, High Stakes is the most popular, followed by Late Departure.
