    It would be nice if you talked about where you got the fabric, how much and how you measured.
    Thanks for taking the time to make the video

    Perfect tutorial indeed, it shows experience, on the contrary of all the vids I check about the faulty Tiguan era's headlining you dont remove the side plastic covers which are hoisting the airbag's, so the trunk sides, which on doing so mostly break the clips, unfortunately that part of the video does't show the way you make the ceiling popped out, does it goes away just on applying a slight pressure vertically?

    Excellent!! I have this problem with my 2005 VW Touran, and it looks just about the same. I was worried I might have to remove the whole of the other trim to get it out..now I know I don't! Should I buy new lining material, or can I use the old one?
    Thanks very much for this great explanation!!

      We only replace with new because
      Fabric may only be sagging in a few places & still neat, but if it previously hasn't been recovered,
      Adding glue to the existing factory material wont work, looks messy, it will leave a visable stain due to glue hitting raw fabric. Over time the foam backing on the fabric crumbles away making it un-stick & causing the fabric to fall down. To fix the sagging issue professionally, the Foam/Fabric needs to be replaced.
      Here is a video we did explaining in more detail why we never reuse the old fabric/foam, & don't do partial fixes. Just full Replacement with new foam/fabric and new glue.

    HI, Thanks
    I have the same problem in my car.
    Do we need to take out the pillar covers to take out the headliner?

  • @richardwilliams8667
    @richardwilliams8667 3 года назад +1

    Nice job - so you don't need to even free up the A B and C pillar covers? Even for reinstallation you can get it back in with these in place?

    • @ReecesAutoHeadliningRepairs

      With practice, most headliners have flex to them to be able to flex headliner gentle away from pillars with necessary having to remove the pillars. Good technique to advoid work on old brittle sun damage plastic components.

      Just aiming to prevent over exposure to chemicals. Because we do it every day and plan to keep doing this, the less exposure the better. As with all glue, it has some sort of chemical make up that has side effects

    Super! Quick question. Mine has a sunroof. Is the procedure the same or do you have extra bits due to the sunroof?

      In this video
      ruclips.net/video/xCxRMnw_Uok/видео.html
      We actually show the audience how a repair can be completed inside the car on sunroofs. Or you can remove the sunroof shade panel and do the same process.

    Ok my 2006 Touareg sunroof is broke and I have thought about removing the headliner. Everyone I have talked said clips on these things break and the airbbags on the pillar is a pain. Any truth in all that can I do it without busting everything? Didn't even see the pillars touched in this.

      @@MrSavage77 chickened out. I found a shop in town that is taking it apart and back together for 450. Figured it might be worth that. If you do it I am still curious how it goes. Hey if you are in Colorado we should get together and compare notes.

    Do you have a recommended shop to purchase supplies?

    • @ReecesAutoHeadliningRepairs
      @ReecesAutoHeadliningRepairs  4 года назад +3

      We are based in Australia, which has two larges upholstery Supply shops, called Nolan UDA, and Daley's Upholstery Supplies.
      Or you can also buy glue at Auto shops, eg: Autobarn, AutoPro.
      Hope this helps 👍

    Question: Do you know if the 20120 VW Jetta SE has ‘flooding clips’? I called a shop in town (FL, USA) and they said they have to physically look at the Jetta to check for said clips. They quoted me $375 if it did not have these clips and $650 if it did have these clips...which I thought was extremely pricey for a headliner....

    How much would a job like this cost on a 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan? I had a guy quote me $1K in MD (USA) 😲

    • @ReecesAutoHeadliningRepairs
      @ReecesAutoHeadliningRepairs  3 года назад +3

      Here in Australia I hear VW Dealerships doing them at $2000.
      But if you go directly to a trimmer, they probably cost around $400-$900AU depending on the experience level of the trimmer and how cheap they choose to go to obtain customers.
      I'd recommend choosing someone with experience with these and warranty over cheap prices.
