Ole Miss fans (and Lane to an extent) look back on that Georgia beat down with gratitude. It showed him how far away the roster (with an emphasis on the defense) was from being elite.
With the help from fans and the collective, Lane went out and landed the following:
4 in-state Defensive lineman, one 5 star and three 4 stars.
Princley Umanmielen (elite rush end from Florida)
Walter Nolen (former #1 overall recruit)
      Pooh Paul (Arkansas’ best linebacker)
Trey Amos (Future starting CB from Alabama)
Georgia opened the program’s eyes and they stepped up to the challenge. The only thing that will hold his team back from being truly elite in 2024 is chemistry.

Only thing that matters at this point is to win the SEC TITLE GAME and get in playoffs. 12-0 regular season will not be an automatic ticket to playoffs this year. We must win SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME the way its looking across the college football landscape. Its better to go 11-1 regular season and win the SEC TITLE GAME rather than go 12-0 regular season then lose the SEC TITLE GAME to a 1 loss Alabama because they would get the playoff bid over Georgia. So rest whatever players are banged up and have them ready for the SEC TITLE GAME

Classic mediocre coach move. Guy hasn't won a meaningful game since 2020 when he beat a mid-level Indiana team in an Outback Bowl game that 8 and a half people watched. I mean, maybe last year's win over Kentucky who was in the top 10 would be the next best thing to say about him in his tenure at Ole Miss? Instead of taking the blame for this consistent level of disappointment, or hell I don't know maybe actually *IMPROVING AS A COACH,* he instead chooses to go and throw his players under the bus and blame talent level for his own inability to develop the talent he does get, prep for each game in the week, and make the right decisions in-game. Lane Kiffin and his routinely incompetent staffs are the only reason why Ole Miss is, has been, and will be a B-list at best program.
