Hi, you can eat fresh and healthy and cheap here. You need to go to the local fruits & vegetable market in the morning. In Santa Cruz its Nuestra Senora de Africa.
Interesting vlog thanks for sharing. Your shown food items are overall cheaper than UK other than meat prices maybe. I live in UK, Just the food and drink type items id say on average our prices have increased around 25% in past 6 months, We are definately in a cost of living crisis like ive not personally witnessed before and i am aged over 60. , Fuel for vehicles like my diesel is circa £1.85 sterling per litre. around 70% higher than this time last year. My internet supplier increased monthly tariff last week by 25^. Our electricity/gas has soared staggeringly mine alone has doubled since same month last year. Add in the mix that wages are not increasing hardly at all to which many industries workers are either striking already or about to strike ie rail network, health service, teachers post workers and so on. Enjoy living In the canary islands its far cheaper than UK and much better climate.
Servus I like your channel because it can prepare me for life in Santa Cruz please continue to make such comparisons to make a rule faithful life experience in the Canaries. Thank you , this had a lot of information - would be nice if could visit a real market one day and show the prices of fresh vegetables , fruits , meat and fish .
Can you report a little on the family difficulties how is the quality of the school system on the islands and what is your personal opinion are the children well supported in the local schools or are you better served by a private school?
I don't know what they mean that they are worse about Austria. Yes, Austria is perfect in everything, it is paradise to live but it is not perfect. I already put him in another comment (I fall heavy, I know and sorry) that I am part of the school council and it is a public school, where 96% of the students is a foreigner, from Italy, the Philippines, South America, there are lithuanians, Russians, English And even from the USA, there are Romanians, from Ireland and also from Spain containing and I can assure you that most tell us that the educational system is very good, improvable but very good and many of the new students, they are done some tests before To start to see their level and many, I repeat, from other countries, come with a very low or similar level and like the educational system here. From childhood, they are already with class in English as well as Spanish; They are prohibited and Nov erás vending machines of sweets or soft drinks; The meals are made in the school itself or through catering if they do not have a kitchen but the food has to be healthy, nothing fried or processed and for breakfast or lunch, if your income is low, the City Council or the regional government , he pays you. If you have, as in my case, children with problems of autism or speech or other problem, there is speech and counselor and psychologist and many already have, fortunately, with nursing or contact with the doctor of the health center in the area In addition, many already have defibrillators and, for example in the school of my children, at certain times, they put for megafonia, classical music to disconnect for a while and rest. To go to the institute, also, in the case of my daughter, they made an English test to those of their promotion along with other students from other schools, to see their English level and then, the classes of many subjects, are Only in English as physical education or history, all in English, to foster that language. There is an application, Ekade brush is called, where you have all the school information in real time, from your children's notes, if you are missing class, information in general ... and if you miss school more than a week without justifying , they send you to the Local Police and to social sservices and then get into a problem with justice. If you justify it, nothing happens. Then, every time the l school ends in summer for vacations, there is a program of the municipalities of the island, which is called RAM, which in Spanish means a reform and improvement plan and left the schools prepared for the new course, Where it is painted, the materials and furniture, megaphony, the ticket offices are changed in the institutes of the emergency and mass medicinenesses. Many schools have their own radio station, which they broadcast online and there is an association of schools with radio stations and organize congresses where the programs are broadcast and some have TV channel by RUclips. That is improvable and there are in some shortcomings or that more and more people come from outside and do not supply, yes but the one that is not from the Canary Islands, does not know how much the islands have advanced in education and what was said, That many parents of other country, tell us, that the educational system in the islands is very good and if they do not believe me, then tell them that I am part of the school council of my children's school but of the institute of my daughter, my wife It is more aware. We are not the best but not the worst. England is worse now donates many schools and educational centers, they are with problems of all kinds, for example. Then here there are health education programs, School orchards Dede learn to cultivate and then what they grow goes for the school dining room, sex education programs, cultural diversity, readings clubs are encouraged in libraries, mathematics clubs and sciences and more things. That Austria is better, I do not doubt it but that here is worse, no. I have informed myself by interne and other parents from outside the Canary Islands and not in this is beautiful in Europe or the United States, which have many lacks or curricula are not so developed. But what has said, we have deficiencies but also many virtues. Oh and the dual system of professional training copied from Germany and Austria has been implemented for a long time, giving good results and making them come from other regions of Epaña and even countries to copy the system and many companies come to the Canary Islands to hire the hand of Canarian works for sanitary sectors (nurses, doctors) (chefs, management of a hotel or company of the tourism sector) thanks to the fact that they are well trained. I do not invented anything, it is what I see, what they tell me and what there is. Greetings and forgive for the big tocho that I have put and forgives Lens Vagabunds for being a heavy one but there are things that I like to clarify and correct about my country, and I know that not everything is perfect in the Canary Islands and there are many things to improve in many subjects.
Interesting content, keep up the good work ;) My wife, my son and I come from Hungary, but live in Innsbruck for 8 years now. We can't stand the Tirolean weather, so we've been considering moving somewhere where it is warm. We are thinking about Tenerife and Crete at the moment. The food prices in Tenerife seem to be the same like here in Austria/Tirol, except for the fish prices :D What about the salaries? Are they much lower? To be honest I haven't watched all your videos yet, so I don't know if you have already spoken about that. Are you planning to make a comparison on that?
Hi, thanks for watching. Food prices are at least 20-30 % cheaper than in Viena. Salaries here are low, much lower than Austria, and you dint get 14 you get 12.
And my wife and I work and it is not necessary to be unemployed to receive help since even if you earn money, they also give you help but according to your income, logically because it is controlled that those who have or earn more do not receive more or the same as those who do not enter anything, as is logical. The same thing if a child misses school, which is very controlled, they send the police to your house and the social services to deal with the issue. That prices have risen, I am completely right. I hope it has helped you and don't misunderstand me because what I want is to clarify something that I may have misunderstood when I heard you say about the few social benefits. Oh and one thing that exists in Germany or Austria and here too, the machines that collect plastic bottles or other products and in exchange they give you discount tickets. You see them in Tu Trebol supermarkets, Tenerife supermarkets and in some municipalities and shopping centers. Greetings.
Your statement is not correct that if a kid misses school they send the police:) At least not in Santa Cruz. We had instances where we had to fly to Europe during school and I took the kids with me wiht no issues, just sent an Email and that was it. Other times they missed school 2-3 days and we didnt notice anyone, and again no problem.
@@LensVagabonds Hello. Thanks for answering. It is logical that if you warn the school that the children are going to be missing, there is no problem because they are notified and if they are missing a couple of days, neither is it normal that after two or three days, they are calling to see if it has happened something. I referred to and it is the most logical, it is that if more than a week or a month are missing, the school warns or calls parents, whether by phone or electronic correo and if they see that children do not go to school for more than Month or see that parents do not bother to warn or see that there are problems, they do send the local police together with social services. I refer to that that if there are two or three days missing or if you send them an e-mail warning that they are not going, logically, nothing happens or the police go home. I wrote it badly or understood badly. I am a father, I am part of the school council of my children's school and I know what I write. Then, each educational center has rules, which are published on the center's website in addition to summoning the parents of the affected students and if they see that students do not give '' signs of life 'after more than a week, then, then What I already put. I hope you have understood it now or explained better. Greetings and keep uploading videos. I like them.

Hello. I like your videos and how well they explain how to live here, but I have a doubt about when you comment, if I understood correctly, that social aid or things related to social services are not high. What are you talking about ? In my house there are five members (three children and my wife and I) and that is why you are considered a large family in this country. By this I mean that we have a lot of aid from the city council, island council and Canary Islands government, from discounts on transportation or free transportation to aid for studies or purchasing books (they will refund the amount you have spent on the purchase or part of it). help to pay for electricity or water (fortunately not our case) help if you are elderly, many with telecare or home services; My daughter is diabetic and we don't pay anything for the treatments because social security covers it and my other son is autistic and for that reason, they give us various aids for the treatments from the psychologist and speech therapist. In addition, the school gives us speech therapists and a psychologist. If you move, you will see that there is a lot of social aid, more than you imagine and of all kinds. Even help to pay the rent for your apartment or house. When I hear or read that there is little or no social assistance here, I wonder where those people live then. Greetings and congratulations for the videos.
We moved from Austria here, and we had there a lot of money benefits, meaning that we actually received money from the government. Every family with kids receives a allocation per kid. Also different discounts and so on. So yes, here we don't receive anything else than discounts:) Thats what I mean
@@LensVagabonds Hello again. Well, I do not understand why we are five and we do receive many aid, both economic and of help for education, transport, medical treatment for my daughter who has a disease and social security covers in addition to the already known discounts to travel between islands or Spain for being not only Canarian resident but large family. We received social security money and also from the State's Treasury for being numerous family then scholarships to cover the expenses of the speech therapy and psychologist of my son (yes, I have a daughter with a disease and another with an autism problem, the third, no It has nothing fortunately) and both of the Canarian government and Tenerife (Insular Cabildo) and Spanish Government, give us monthly aids to cover the expenses of the psychologist and the speech therapist and other scholarships specifically for that and it is necessary to justify it with the invoices because if not , they make you return and thus avoid fraud. I do not know where they have moved or asked but I assure you that you help, there are all kinds, both in money and for purchases or medical expenses and if you cannot pay rent or water or light, there are also financial aid for it although although Fortunately, we don't have that problem. We work, won well and still give us those aids. And if you have a child with a problem autism or with speech or concentration or whatever, the speech therapist and the guiding of the school, it is responsible for the procedures so that the State or the government of Tenerife and the Canary Islands, pay you in Effective, those aids and for that they only ask for an account of your child's bank and two roles nothing complicated. I don't even tell you if you are an older or old person and that of aid of all kinds you have. Yes, there are aids and many, more than you think and of all kinds. And if you have a child in nursery, the Treasury returns part of the expenses or the City Council, it covers the expenses if you do not have sufficient income. Disprured, I know cases of people who live from both economic aid and other things, without working in anything Thus there is an idea that there are and many, social aids. Moreover, my older brother and a niece, work as social workers, for the Canarian health service and thanks to them two, I find out the aid of all kinds, both in money and other things, what is there and I only speak of the Canarian government without counting those of the City Council or Cabildo de Tenerife. Greetings.

As vrea si eu a traiesc in acest loc unde este tot timul cald.
Succes

@@LensVagabonds un roman simte un roman:). As fi vrut sa pun mai multe intrebari in private daca se poate. Ma gandesc sa ma mut si eu cu sotia si cei doi copii in 2-3 ani sa fie umpic mai mari. Daca doresti sa conversam umpic, m-ar ajuta sa imi fac o perspectiva mai detaliata. Macro totul e frumos dar ma intereseaza micile detalii. Peace!

Greetings.
Good information, thank you !
