What the pandemic showed me, was that if a truly deadly disease like antibiotic resistant plague were to start an outbreak, we're doomed. It wouldn't surprise me if over a million of the people who died from covid, died as a result of misinformation or just ignorance, because we lost way too many people to that disease, than we should've.

I graduated in 97. All of us that had trucks had gun racks in them with our .22s ,shotguns, and rifles on campus every day and there wasn’t ever any mass shootings. It’s not the guns it’s the person behind it.
It's an issue of both people _and_ easy access to guns, but pragmatically, I'd at least like to be able to carry and shoot back if some nut decides to shoot up a place. Virginia Tech was a "gun free" zone when I was there in 2007 and that didn't stop the massacre.
