These are really the only things I complain about. I make it theough like 70% of 2 lethal runs last night without taking damage. Then all of a sudden in a swarm, it had to be like 12+ spore mines spawned around a corner and i had no idead. I dodged the first one thinking it was the orange warrior, one exploded and cause a chain reaction, drooped me down to like 10 health 😂
I just hate how they’re silent, yes another comparison to darktide but DT has unique audio cues based on what enemy just spawned in I think this would be beneficial.
Definitely an issue, not saying that they should be removed(although definitely wouldn't complain), however i often times have them spawn on top of me regardless if there is an enemy wave or not. Looking around constantly to see a little collection of green floaters, okay fine, easy to take out. But when in the middle of a wave and a waterfall of 60 come out if the wall to turn you paste and theres no time to panic roll I feel shouldn't be the standard. I have had mobs blink in dorectly next to/on top of me mid mission with no prompt or warning. Such as after a wave clear, moving to next objective then 4 majoris 10 gaunts and 6 mines that immediately detonate
Every lictor I’ve encountered no matter the difficulty since the new patch I feel like Spore mine magnet. Some encounters are better than others but damn, SM’s give a new meaning to “situational awareness”!
I’ve never had any issues with spore mines…until today. I was doing some ruthless on inferno, and we were at the second to last bit outside the final objective area. When the three of us in the squad cleared the majoris, we were sprinting towards the weapon change to grab ammo. All of a sudden, we got a notification that a massive wave was spawning, no big deal, but then a flood of spore mines come up from under the balcony or catwalk or whatever you’d call it, and all immediately exploded on us without any indicators. (Maybe one of my teammates shot them causing a chain reaction idk) All of us went from full health, to the defeat screen faster than you could say emperor.
Don’t need to watch, the answer is YES!!! Anything that can ruin a run even when no one made a mistake needs to be looked at. It’s only unfair when they spawn right on top of you and then begin attacking immediately, often before you even realize they’re there. THAT is the annoying and unfun part, and on higher difficulties, the possibly run-ruining part when you didn’t even make a mistake.
I have over 400 hours in this game, every class to 25, every weapon on relic tier, every single cosmetic and every mission cleared on lethal difficulty dozens of times. Spore mines are only a problem when they spawn in conjunction with Lictors and Raveners. That is understandably lame because if they pin you while they are up you are dead. I will admit that at times their numbers can be excessive but the only reason spore mines are a problem is if you are not clearing properly, not being methodical and not deliberate with your positioning. Ninety five percent of survival in this game is your positioning; full Stop. If you keep having trouble with spore mines work on your positioning. Make sure you have an escape route for a rolling retreat and never leave your back exposed to a majoris or higher enemy. And the most important thing is to stop bypassing content to speed up a run. It will literally bite you in the ass. Slowdown be selective in your positioning and rarely will you die or even take serious damage.
It happened to me as Vanguard, used grappling on enemies and a bunch of spore mines exploded, they were after a corner and I could not see them. They also seem to appear out of nowhere on the INFERNO mission while defending generators rooms and at the same time, fighting ravaner, lictor, majoris and minoris. They some times appear out of nowhere, resulting in a full team wipe.
I usualy don't sorry about Spore mines but sometimes im shooting a ridículos amount of spore mines and more spores attack me from behind everything while still figthing regular enemies
I think the issue is less spore mines in and of themselves but more so a stun-lock issue. The more enemies attacking you the more chance you can get put into a no-win situation by being stun-locked. If enemies attack you with certain timing your essentially locked down, add spore mines on top of this issue and you *will* die.
Spore mines need a LOT more limitations coded into their spawning logic. Having an endless stream of them dive bombing me while Im trying to defend a generator is a common occurrence. I even had a pack literally spawn on me as I was finishing an execution and 100-0 me on the spot. They spawn in far too great of numbers, and they spawn far too close to players. If they had to spawn more than 50m away from any player, only from an exterior map edge, have a global cooldown on their dive bomb (only one can dive bomb every 5 sec), and a maximum of 10 existing at a time or 20 in the whole mission theyd be a LOT less frustrating than now. They could also change their dive-bomb to parryable instead of unblockable. Spamming roll 23 times in a row because of back to back dive bombs is not fun, challenging, or engaging in any way, shape, or form. Any situation presented to the player for which there is no viable counter-play is mechanically bad. They seem noticeably worse since 5.1.
Those things absolutely suck and u can never shoot them fast enough but also its random as shit sometimes and could also not affect u at all it just doesn't make sense
I was in the scrum happily beating up Tyranids and we missed a call-in. I look up and see ALL MINES streaming in from 2 different points. It was frightening.
Spore mines have killed me in lethal more times than any other enemy. And ive seen it happen more than once where they have spawned when it says there is no enemies nearby.
My biggest gripe is not being able to interrupt a Melle attack to doge or parry. I know they made it more responsive but it stills feels a tad sluggish. Only just starting realizing that with the combat knife. Chainsword absolutely fucks.
Whenver I got hit by sporemines I usually end up dead, so I'm not sure about the damage value but I belive 1 sporemine bring down 2 bar of your armor. So 3 mines are ennought to give you health damage. As for damage to health I thing it's about at least a quarter to a third of your health. So Basically 6 sporemines coming down on you is a death sentence if you can't see them before they explode. They are easy to detonate or evade IF you are in a situation where you're free to move around. When you're surrounded and can't roll away because of collision with the other enemies (and being surrounded you can't really aford to look around for signs of sporemines) you'll take the first explosion or trade if with a majoris blow and even if you manage to survive you will have taken a lot of damage and be left without armor.
On the mission Inferno on ruthless diff, I was at the last point, holding out for the detonation. I start to go down one of the ramps toward the button and in the center, where enemies will spawn, I saw the whole little nook between the ramps just a haze of green. Ive never seen so many spore mines. This kinda thing has happened twice. I dont think they should get rid of them, but Id love to see smaller numbers and WAAAAAYYYYYYYY less damage. If they didnt spawn on your head, or do 20+ divebombs in a row, Id agree. Most of the issues people have are because the mines' behavior has changed since 5.1. There were always mildly annoying and required you to pay attention. Now no matter of vigilance can save you when they do buggy shit that you cant counter.
@@nathancawley8759 I haven't had them spawn ON me at all so maybe it's just a bug at this point. I am just speaking from experience and so far, I haven't had any issues
I absolutely stand with anyone that complains about a mechanic that is bugged or isn't working how the devs intended but complaining about how something is a little hard is silly to me.
Spore are not the problem at all, brain dmage is tho.
They suck come out of the shadows and strip you to death 😅
Spore mines and vines dont belong in this game. They are so extra.
Jesus Christ, get good. They are nerfed to hell.
somebody hasnt had them spawn on their head, 100-0 you with no way to counter or prevent it, and lose 40 minutes of progress as a result. Count your blessings, Im happy that everything goes right for some people.
They are a weird inclusion to me because they exist on both extreme ends of the spectrum. Either you see them and have time to prematurely detonate them or manoeuvre rendering them useless, or you don’t and they proceed to delete you from the timeline. As a result the only time I even notice them as part of the game is when they have just dropped me. I just think they are cheap because they are either completely superfluous or extremely annoying.
literally nothing fun about having these in the game...all you can do is just roll away if they spawn on top of you, if you're lucky to get away in time. They spawn a ton with extremis enemies. Like I am parrying a Lictor and a spore mine just drops on my head.
they are just lying at this point.
Too many, to often, too much.
I stopped playing after realising your skill lvl means nothing because of this one mob. Game killer! If there’s a way to win I’d try but it randomly screws you so no thanks I prefer games that require skill not multiple broken controllers
Yes.
