415 I think he’s saying that the other gangsters in Dogs were very outward racists. That was a big part of the characterization for Mr. Orange in showing that he wasn’t racist like them, and therefore was an outsider. Based on that, a black gangster probably wouldn’t have fit in with that crew.

Ah but the great triumph is that Pulp Fiction will be remembered in film as not only a cult classic but a MUST SEE outside-the-box amazing film that every film lover or critic must watch and form an opinion on to call themselves a lover of film. Forrest Gump is good sure, and people remember the movie. But generations from then to now, to hundreds of years from now will remember what Pulp Fiction did for Cinema. The oscar, in retrospect, means nothing. I guarantee you if you ask any film critic in the world working today if Pulp Fiction was a more important film than Forrest Gump 100% of them will respond with a resounding YES.

I agree. I had a bit of a cooling-off period with Pulp Fiction in my twenties, but having watched it again this year, I can easily say it belongs in my top five movies of all time. Just so much style *and* a ton of substance. I think Roger Avary brought a certain element that's missing from Quentin's other movies, that's present in Beowulf, which Roger helped write. I think that element is just a greater intelligence, a depth of understanding of the human soul, and an exquisite way with words.

I just watched this film this year. I had no idea it existed, and I've been a big movie fan since I was a kid. When I saw Vincent and jules talking about the foot massage, I stopped watching, went to Wikipedia to make sure that this movie was really screened in 1994, because the dialogue was just so good I couldn't believe the movie was as old as I am. Pulp fiction to me, is the greatest movie I've ever seen in my life. It's just beautiful. It's not only very entertaining and funny, but it also has meaningful messages.
    1. You reap what you sow. Vincent was a bad guy, and he deserved to die. When he died, I was shocked, and didn't understand why it had to happen that way. But the reason Vincent had to die is showed to us in the last story. We see he's a horrible person, who makes fun of Jules' beliefs, and calls homeless people bums. He's condescending, and has a huge ego. He doesn't like to beg even when he ought to. He doesn't care about people's belongings (Jules' friend's towel), and, he had the opportunity to get out of the business, but he didn't. He's greedy and selfish, and careless, and he met his end at the hands of butch, the person he insulted for no good reason.
    2. God gives you chances to redeem yourself. I'm a Christian, and it was beautiful seeing Jules acknowledge God. And the fact that Jules got out because of the miracle, means he got to live. It was nice seeing the movie end the way it did, with Jules and Vincent, 2 friends who've decided to go on different paths, leave the diner together, and knowing that 1 of them will see death soon because of the bad path they've chosen is sad, but still beautiful.
    3. Butch was given the gold heroes' watch, but he had yet to earn it like his ancestors had. Butch earned it by saving his nemesis from rape and death (I don't remember laughing as hard as I did when I saw Marsellus get raped😂😂😂...and then seeing how arrogant he was eating breakfast during his phone call with Jules, and knowing that a couple days later he would get raped😁😁 it's just amazing. The structure of this movie is what makes it so great).
Wonderful movie. I really enjoyed it. The Greatest one ever made for me. 👏👏👏👏

Crazy that Pulp Fiction did not win Best Picture Oscar that year. It changed cinema for the next two decades, the most important film of the decade. Shawshank and Schindler were really great too though, what a year, 1994.

I absolutely love this type CGI, I wish they would make so many movies this way. Not the little cute kiddy type but more serious movies. So many wonderful classic characters could be done. Imagine JOHNNY QUEST, SPACE GHOST, THE HERCULOIDS, KAMANDI etc.

indeed, omar, pulp fiction is so well written, there doesn't have to be action scene's because you're fascinated by the dialogue and throughout the movie you're curious of what they are going to say next! it's a true masterpiece!
