Hard to learn, easy to master. This video is showcasing kind of easy mode tactics, it's more challenging and fun to stand toe to toe and fight enemies, blocking and dodging etc not just jump kicking.

People keep comparing this game to Oni. I'm not sure why though, considering that this game is more about contextual hits and freeflowing movement while Oni has a fighting game combat system in the third person with gunplay supplementing it for a kind of matrix style feel.

I'd wager a good bit of it is actually wanting to be good, as in experimenting with the physics models of the game and going through the same situation a number of times to understand all the eventualities and of course studying the actual game mechanics. Tedium, repetition and introspection are needed for skills to develop, but most players aren't playing with those goals.

Osomatsu can't 『stand』losers. Even if it’s old it looks so much better and it’s quite impressive considering its age. The animations and physics are freaking awesome and smooth
It's a shame because this game was a technical masterpiece during the alpha stages and David was creating gameplay systems nobody else had before. But development took so long these systems have already been met and surpassed by other developers and the once acceptable graphics are now severely dated.

Like John Wick movies, many of these area fights are one cuts which makes these so incredible to watch where as Taken film have 18 cuts for climbing one fence.

There's a GDC video around where the creator of the game explains from the ground up how he made the procedural animations for the game. He emphasized on making it cheap (for indie use) and most importantly, uninvasive, the animations don't alter the gameplay.
