Ma'am I am confused so please answer. In some stanza, I found He word to identify animal. Can we consider it as a personification? Thank You.
Hi
You are correct when you think that personification has been done when the animals are addressed as 'he'. But its not so because see the actions they are performing - leaping, eating, roaring, hugging, smiling, weeping. These actions are done by animals and so they are not being given any human quality.
For example if the poet would have said "the lion writes his story" or "the tiger narrates the tale" then the actions performed by the animals - writing and narrating are not done by animals, they are human qualities and then we could have said that the animals have been personified.

No..... the hug is not a loving one in the poem that "very very hard hug " is symbolic of crusing you by giving a tight hug which may kill you by crushing you .........this is the real meaning of the bear stanza...

Poetic licence is a different thing and poetic device is totally different.... Poetic devices are used to make poems beautiful and in good rhyming scheme whereas poetic licence is specially designed for a poet which permits him/her to change and use words acoordingly
