    This and the more elaborate of the Christmas messages are a cool insight to the personalities of the lads from Liverpool. I strongly encourage Apple and EMI to compile a Beatles comedy album, with proceeds to the Christmas charity or food bank in each city where a copy is sold. "You know my name look up the number" could be the title track. Cheers

    This is Ringo's best vocals ever-- believe this at John's house in late 1966? Ringo lived nearby

    This sounds to me like the first sketches for their 1967 christmas disk: "Christmas Time is Here Again."
    Every Christmas all the members of the Beatles fan club would get a little disk in the mail--a Christmas greeting from the Fab Four-- and as the years went on these became more and more elaborate and hilarious. They sound like early versions of Monty Python or Firesign Theatre.
    Just another way that the Beatles were way ahead of their time (or way heads of their time--whichever).

      Which were your favourites? there's so many unreleased beatles stuff, half of it isn't even on RUclips, I want to know all the songs that never came to light, might just download some bootlegs.

    @eleni1968 George said that they all loved Monty Python. And as the Beatles were breaking up Monty Python was just taking off. He considered it as sort of a passing of the torch type thing.

    listening to this makes me think they should've been Pythons or were in fact Monty Python fanatics. They all fit so well. John is Mike Palin George is John Cleese RIngo is Terry Jones and Paul is Eric Idle. THis is zany. Classic Python

      Weirdly, Eric Idle played "Dirk McQuickly", the Paul McCartney character, in The Rutles.

    Woody the Woodbine is an actual person from their early years - went down to Hamburg with Alan Williams and them on the first trip and was a character!!!

    • @barnabyaprobert5159
      @barnabyaprobert5159 8 лет назад

      Woodbine is a brand of English cigarette.

    • @34hedgehog
      @34hedgehog 7 лет назад

      No, that was Lord Woodbine, a 'business associate' of Williams' from Liverpool. He owned the club in Liverpool 8 where The Beatles backed Janice the stripper.
