Dear Bredda many thx for sharing your knowledge especially with the macro footage of all the equipment! As it still is my dream to build my own Sound from scratch I more than appreciate having the possibility to see some things up close! Every time there is a session there is no time for anything really educational about running the sound as ppl are coming from another town, we string the sound and then everybody elses comes. Anyways greatly appreciate your videos! One Love! Always forward, never ever backward!!
Thanks I'm glad to be of help, i know how it was when i first started just keep the passion and you will get where you want to be with your system. Respect 🙏
Exactly good stuff by means good balanced quality cables makes a huge difference..... Otherwise you keep on amplifying the noise by every piece of gear.....
It mean some of your units are turned up too high. Ive been through this in the past, its coming from your mixer, then it builds up while passing through several units.
@@Djshaw1kinglegend respect my brother, I was debating getting one being that the drive rack has that function but I will now go and pick up one. Thank you..
imagine suggesting people have their controller master out less than halfway… that’s the root cause of this terrible gain structure the hiss you’re hearing is because you’re amplifying the noise level of that mixer due to the source volume being so low - all the gain you’re adding with the outboard mixer and compressor is bringing that noise up and making it audible. if you turn the controller master out up to unity and rebalance the gain structure, the noise wouldn’t be audible in the first place and you wouldn’t need a gate to hide the hiss 😅
I like the clarity of the high end of the BbE so that processing my tops and the aphex is better on Bass/subs so that is only processing my low frequencies not connected to the higher level frequencies at all. So to sum it up there 50/50 in my opinion. The Bbe is definitely better at bringing out clarity in your higher frequencies and the aphex is great on giving that extra punch to your low end frequencies. I got a question not related to this topic. I’m looking to buy a BBE for a smaller rack I’m building. I have an Aphex in the larger rack, but don’t want to spend the price of the Aphex. I see the BBE comes in an 882i, a 482i and a 382i model. What’s the difference and which one should I get?
It's pretty much pick the one according to your system, it's like small system with rca 382, medium system wanting alittle more flexibility using balance 1/4" connection or the large scale 882 that i use which gives more impact 23dbu headroom vs 21dbu from the 482 it also offers xlr connectivity inwhich the other 2 don't have. thanks for watching
Hey thanks for watching. Check that your plugging into a working 3 prong outlet and try changing your xlr cable to a higher gauge wire. Also don't turn your volume knob no more than half way try that. Thanks
Arite kool i i had my band mixer cntrl knob above halfway indeed so maybe that amp module is more sensitive than the other 2 since its different manufactures but ill adjust same n keep u update 👍
Now bro you have more equipments than a construction site. Why your system even in the yellow. Use the drive rack noise gate it will close out any unwanted noise.

Perfect! I had the controller too loud. Thanks KING!
Good day DJ Shawn, I really appreciate your vids on building sound system and maintaining it. Keep them coming.
Thanks i appreciate your support 👍🏾
Noisy soundcrap mixer. It's also your signal routing and cables. Quality of equipment.
Exactly good stuff by means good balanced quality cables makes a huge difference.....
Otherwise you keep on amplifying the noise by every piece of gear.....
Two things causes hiss and hum, electrical feed back from fans on the amplifiers or power supply ripple in the amplifiers.
It mean some of your units are turned up too high. Ive been through this in the past, its coming from your mixer, then it builds up while passing through several units.
I was waiting for you to explain why you prefer an external limiter/gate as opposed to using the one in the drive rack tho...
Only cause it's not as easy to adjust and monitor as an external limiter, plus the knobs are easier than digital settings. Thanks
@@Djshaw1kinglegend respect my brother, I was debating getting one being that the drive rack has that function but I will now go and pick up one. Thank you..
Thanks for that information I would like to get some information on putting a three way system together
Kool. Glad to be of help 👍🏾✅️
Hey bro check on you tube you will see how to hook a 3 way system I got the instruction on you tube how to hook up a 2 way system
Hey bro that was a very helpful video can u give me a diagram how u hook up your equipment in the rack like from your source to your amplifier
Good suggestions
Thank you very much!

And if noticed he had the output level on the eq wide open, thats a no-no
Is it very important to turn the low cut filters on.
Try the gate on your compressor 2 mixers are worthless it causes distortion in your music when loud and makes the amplifier clips.
You have an Aphex Exciter and A BBE Maximiser why? They both do similar jobs although I believe The Aphex is far superior!

in my case its my class a dbx equalizer that's making that hissing noise so when i try to remove the eq from my connection my problem was solve..
How do u wire it up
All you need to do is adjust the gate so it closes while the system is at idle.
i have a hissing issue is this effective?
Just use the gate on the compressor.
You have a problem 1 of your mixer buddy. The noise gate doesnt help that much.
Equalizer which brand
It's klark Teknik Dn360
Dbx brand products price
I see you have a driverack and a BBE 882 sonic maximized. Do you have the maximizer before or after driverack?
Bbe is before driverack. 👍🏾✅️🔊
Thanks bruh. Appreciate the guidance. Like your videos btw.

Set the knobs at the 12oclock position all you need. Thanks for watching

I thought redlining was a thing, but ok. There's show cars and then there's race cars, this system is not a joke. Thanks for watching.
Freq 800 hz that make hissing
not to dump on your video but all thats doing is masking the noise its still there what you need is a ground loop eliminator
Bro take this video off
why?
