- I built this bike in te final stages of my father's life. We loved going to flat track races together to watch and cheer for harley davidson. I finished this bike 2 months before he passed. This video sums up the build and shows the results on the race track.
Looks great, nice work
A great tribute bike for past glory and your father. Wow you are a true craftsman. Thank you for sharing !
Sorry for your loss. We went to a few of the mile races in the early 80's and there is no other sound on earth like a pack of Harleys rollin' the power on out of a turn. The sound of you bike on the straight a way brought a smile to this old mans face. Thanks, nicely done.
You can say that again! So amazing
The Sportster . The Icon of Harley Davidson .
I love the photo of you and your Pop at the end.
Shows you don't have to go 130 mph to have fun on the track! Nice job.
That is so true! Every bike can make you smile if you want it to. Thank you
Thanks for turning a POS into something worth riding. One of the better conversions that I have seen.
I want to do that to my Sportster!!!
Sorry for your loss. Though I’m far from being a Harley fan, your build is something most people could not pull off, it was nicely done.
May your father rest in peace and may you meet again.
Thank you Ted. I appreciate that a lot!
I’m not a Harley fan either but the xr750 gets me every time 😅
truly awesome my dad and i went to flat track racing for decades our true love and connection
Nice job. See so many trackers that are half assed it’s ridiculous. Proper tank on there as well. Again well done 👍
Awesome build man. I'm starting one soon. Thanks for the inspiration.
Sportsters Forever
Very nice build, and video presentation. My Father (R.I.P. 2014) and I didn't go to races, as there were few around here, but we did ride Harley Davidsons together. Still have mine, 43 years as of last March. Good Dads are a blessing, I'm sorry,
I can totally relate. Ride til 'Ya can't.
Thank you. Us getting the opportunity to ride with our fathers is a blessing. Glad to hear you kept the bike!
Awesome job! I bet you guys had a blast building it and im sure he's pumped looking down every time u ride it.
Thank you! He is definitely with me on every ride!
Sorry for your loss but glad you had him and he got to see this sweet build !
Awesome work and heart.
I salute you sir. great way to continue to connect with your father
Thank you! Means a lot
Really cool… very good work 😊
Very nice job, Bill! You must feel close to your Dad on the open road.
Beautiful bike. May your father Rest In Peace, I’m sure he’s looking down at you with great pride.
Love it absolutely brilliant build thanks for sharing and sorry for your loss.
Thank you! Glad to share.
Awesome bike & sorry for your loss.
greetings & compliments from the old world, beautifull build
Thank you. That is so nice to hear.
Sorry for your loss. Excellent build!
Thank you. I really appreciate your comment.
This is what every harley should look like :) wow!
Nice build dude!
Nicely done. At least you know what a real motorcycle is. And it isn’t a bunch of chrome.
Thank you and that's funny! This bike is a good time!
Damn, good job man, everything about that bike rocks, I'm sure your dad is smiling n shining down on you!
Thank you! I hope he is!
Wow great job, should knock a few out to sell looks great, Credit to you.
That would be fun! I'm taking pre orders now! Lol
Super cool and sorry you lost your Dad. Sounds like you had some good times. Lost mine at 19. He was my age now, 53. Seemed a lot older to me then.
Awesome video!! Great picture of you and dad on the street!!
That bike is a beauty!
Thank you!
great job mate..done your old fella proud and you can certainly hustle it around a track.
Good luck from a fellow harley enthusiast in the UK
Thanks you. That means a lot!
I love it
You did a great job building that ! 😜
Thank you
Awesome build that's all I want to get out of life getting ready to turn 50 April 12th an 883 1200 not so much the exhaust because I'm sure lady would want to go for a ride a set of pro taper dirt bike handlebars probably said it before but if I hit the lottery I wouldn't leave you alone awesome build man it's the small things in life that really matter thank you for the eye candy
Thank you! Fingers crossed you win big! I would definitely help you out
That thing is so sick I wouldn't change a thing on it great job
Thank you!
Terrific build.
I’ve long wanted to do something similar with a Bonneville
Thank you! That would be a fun one, for sure!
Very nice sir.
Incredible! Great job! Ride safe…
Thank you! You as well.
I need handle bars like those on my 2022 Street Bob. It came with 10" mini apes, quite modest by ape hanger standards. You may as well throw counter steer out the window. You have so much left to right leverage, it kills counter steer feel. The mini apes are just awkward.
Hell Yeah Bro!!
cool bike, it leans over well, i bet that is a right bit of fun to ride!
It is a blast! It is really fun on the right tracks!
Beautiful build. I am sorry for your loss. Hope to see more content and wish you the best!
Thank you! Trackday season is just around the corner!
Great build man!
So cool❤❤❤❤❤❤
It looks nice.. People who tested the Indian 1200 FTR did not like those tires on the street..
I'll bet my stock 2008 Buell Ulysess will eat it for lunch with stock 1203 CC Thunderstroke engine at 103 HP ...
I love the ulysess! That is a really fun bike. I wish I still had one.
@@brosius11 I may see if I can buy an 1190 Halicon for it with ECM and wiring harnesses . May not be practical..
That Air cooled engine can really roast you on a hot day ..
@@mikeskidmore6754 ok
It was odd that Eric Buell could get Harley engines to run way better than HD could. Perhaps one of the reasons EB and HD split maybe HD didn't like that. Probably should have had EB run the company .BIG mistake.
@@bultacowally Buell was in bad financial Shape. HD Bought 48% of Buell with an Option to buy 48% more of Buell after 10 years.
It was not much after 10 years that HD spent $115 Million to shut down the New Buell Factory in Rice Lake and Eliminate 200 American Jobs.
Buell came out with their own Modern 1125 CC 4 valve head liquid cooled engine built in Austria by Rotax in 2008 .. Nothing like going from 103 HP to 148 HP and 65# Lighter in later years the 1190 made more like 185 HP .. Yes I think HD was Jealous of Buell.
They could not have huge margins on Buell's because they had to compete heads up with Japanese and European bikes.
After the Shut down Eric started EBR and was still using left over HD/Buell pars.. had financial Problems and even had a significant Invested from an Indian Motorcycle Company from the Country of India.
The finished Bike looks lighter, faster and much better than the original.
Stunning build … love the bars … which brand please ….
Thank you. If the bars are pro taper
Wish my sportster could lean that far
The only bike worth having, at least for me.
Doing a build here in uk your scoot looks just great where can I get tank and seat like yours ? Thankyou Dilwyn👍
Nice build! Looks perfect 👌🏻 What tank are these?
Never liked HD...most are big heavy slow tanks but the XR-750 was an exceptional motorcycle. HD shouldn't have stopped production of them they were the only bright star in the Harley line up. The XG-750 that took it's place has been a dog for the most part as is proven by its almost non existence at pro flat track races now. I know one of the suspension tech guys on the factory Harley team and he even said the same thing. This bike is gorgeous though and one Harley I would be proud to own.
Thank you! Glad I made the cut! Lol
Sorry for your loss, I guarantee your dad loved every inch of that bike. I was curious what front end you put on it? Ive been trying to do my hw and figure out if i should do a gsxr or r1 front end? I alresdy monoshocked the rear end of the bike, this is my final step
Finally decent Harley without Fox tale😊
Nice bike. Let me ride it 😂😂
I would love you to ride! It is so fun!
Hi where did you get that lush tank and seat from ,also any frame mods to fit tank?🏴🏴👍
Beautiful build, where did you get the bracket for the mufflers , I have the pipes but can’t find that rear bracket that holds the mufflers together
Thank you. S&S will have everything
❤️❤️❤️
🤩
Beautiful bike! What is this exhaust model?
This is built, not bought.i hate when you see those stickers on everything. With that being said... let me buy this!
Nice bike, where did you get the muffler bracket that holds both together?
Thanks! The bracket is from s&s
Wanna do the same saddlemen seat fender setup on my 09 nightster, but my ECM is unfortunately seated into the stock rear fender ,will this new flattracker fender / seat have a place to accommodate the ECM unit into it ? Because i know that once those struts are cut off
There ain't no coming back to stock !! I saw you grinding on the underside of it what was the modification for ?
Yes, lots of mods. I had to make mods and dive into the wiring harness.
Amazing work, building an anniversary year tracker as well. Who makes the fuel tank you used?
Thank you. Storz performance makes the tank. Make sure you get the flush cap so you don't run into issues.
outstanding work! don't the flat track tyres overheat quickly on track??
Thank you, sir! I ended up going with the hard compound because they will last longer. The soft wear out really fast. They are definitely not road tires for sure! I have multiple bikes i take to the track, and this one is my Sunday cruise. I can get the same life as a set of soft slicks on my r1. On the backroads, I get more life, of course. Hope I answered you question! Lol
Awesome build! Looks like willow springs?
That would be awesome to do Willow Springs! That was Thunderhill west.
What a beauty how much does she weigh? Love that high exhaust
Thank you! Did you just gender my bike! Lol. It weighs A Lot! It's still a harley! Lol.
@@brosius11 have you ever had it weighed
Nevermind
@@UnderestimatedA1 no. Never weighed it. It would have been nice to have a before and after! I'm sure I took a lot off.
@@brosius11 I like them light and fast.
Nice build. Whats the frond end off?
Those were custom triples for 153mm ohlins, aprilla rsv4 bembos zx10 rotors
I'm doing a tribute build on my wife's 94 XL1200. Are you using a front 19 for the rear wheel?
Yes sir. Make sure you take a lot of pictures throughout the build! Who are you tributing?
@@brosius11 my wife of 41 years. I lost her January 7 2022.
She loved Sportsters. Her bike is a 1994 XL1200. Bought it for her in 1995. I scored an original XR750 seat/fender from one of my road race friends. I have the 19" wheel and a conversion kit to make a rear wheel out of it from Phill Little racing. Plans are to turn the engine over to Hammer Engineering for some trickery. (114")
Told them the main criteria for the engine is I want it to scare me.
By the way you bike turned out ACES!
Where is that track?
Thunderhill west. Willows Ca
Watching sportster lean at that angle gives me a bad case of cognitive dissonance. I can almost hear exhaust scraping :)
Lol
Oh no not a 100th anniversary edition.
nice bike terrible music
What rear shocks? Also what fork and triples?
Nice one! Say who makes those pipes? They remind me of storz/bubs which are nla. Would love to get a set.
Pipes are S&S. They are really awesome and sound way better in person, not the rattle your brains out type, but a really good deep sound.
