No matter what you or others say, SOCD enabled hitbox should be banned from tournaments to balance the inputs and skills for all. Both pad and arcade stick have their advantages and disadvantages but for Hitbox with SOCD enabled, I cannot see even a single disadvantage. May be you can share few? As for learning, everyhing including Hitbox requires dedicated practice, so does pad and arcade stick. But that 4 frame super is a cheat no matter what anyone else say. The same kind of cheat which you see in TAS videos with perfect frame inputs.
pulling an actual 4 frame super in a hitbox is extremely hard and ive ever only seen it in controlled environment, also because that whole movement is awkward to do, no one is gonna go slide their finger and move their hand entirely just to do that, also, sf6 has modern controls with 1 frame supers
@@videogamesareforever "But that 4 frame super is a cheat no matter what anyone else say." The games are what we make them, it aint cheating if it aint cheating.
great video, though I would like to point out a slight inaccuracy. you stated that Diago's hitbox was SOCD. while you are correct in saying that SOCD does stand for simultaneous opposite cardinal direction, a hitbox itself is not SOCD, or non SOCD, but rather in how it handles SOCD inputs. the hitbox by default "cleans" SOCD's by making left+right= neutral, and up+down=up. making it so the game is not receiving both inputs, but rather no inputs, or just one.
As a newer player, it's causing a fair amount of problems I assume are temporary. My SnackBox arrived right when SF6 came out, & I tried to get used to the layout on a keyboard, but I only used 3 fingers & they were right next to each other. The button spread on the SnackBox + adding my pinky really slowed me down. I can actually do more moves consistently on it while practicing, but my mental stack is all gummed up, especially since I lose where the buttons are when moving between rows. Overall, I like it & won't go back to pad.

I bought myself a Hitbox in 2021 for 199usd and was very happy with it because of a few shortcuts and its durability. Before that I had worn out two controllers within 2 years. I was also surprised that about a year later the Hitbox was already 249usd. I may have hesitated for that amount of money although it's still a good investment if you're open to the concept of all buttons.
How do you think what gets banned is decided in the FGC? Your take is an ok mindset to have for practicing and attending tournaments, but if you want to participate in the discussion around legislation you have to think about the reason behind why we make rules in the first place.
I would like the hit box's jump button to be shape like a space bar and the arcade stick to have smaller corner or be like an analog stick like the game pad.
Just cause it takes skill doesnt mean its not cheating. its cheating cause its impossible on stick. I think they could make it so that a four frame super gets rounded up to being only as fast as possible on stick. besides that they're fine though imo
You can legally call anything a hitbox if you want. Companies just don't want you to do it cause they'll lose their trademark in a process called genericization.

@@alexvasiliev925that’s why u have socd cleaning. If you only do last input then it makes it unfair. Socd levels the field. The only advantage they have is on charge characters, stick has an advantage on qcf, hc, and 360 inputs.

Pro players adapted hitbox after decades of using arcade sticks, why? Because it gives them an advantage, it's no different than PEDs in sports. It's cheating.
The skill and practice argument is just not valid. Everybody knows combos (execution) are probably the easiest part of fighting games. Just put a little time to it and that's that. It's like saying that a thief is not doing anything illegal because it took him skill and practice to pickpocket you without noticing.

That said, I just ordered the Victrix Fight Stick as well because, again, it’s a really nice piece of hardware and I’m excited to mix up my play style. I appreciate when a company does one thing really well, and Victrix appears to be doing exactly that. Let’s see more excellence in niche!
it's not cheating i used to think that till the moment i had to try one and nah it's not cheating it's different with some advantages but the same can be said from Pad to controler.
Yeah it's not cheating, but the reputation of Hitboxes giving an unfair advantage is the main reason they've had so much attention recently, plus the "different controller = cool" thing. All controllers have their advantages, players should choose what they're most comfortable with as that will give them the best play/most fun.
in my own scrub opinion, the only argument i rly have against hitboxes is the 4 frame super you included, purely because of how fast it is, not so much the execution and slightly the ease of doing so, however as you pointed out it took a long time. and it is of course good to have for the sake of accessability, for carpal tunnel, other hand or nerve issues, etc. the only thing to know is that if you're really that sour about it, you should get good or try it yourself and see how "easy" it is to have buttons be directions and not the stick.
To be able to buffer forward and backwards at the same time makes the design of the hit box incredibly o cheating territory as the games were not designed with the ability to press both directions at the same time. Keyboard players get the same benefit but they aren’t banned? Luckily the hit box is banned from games that actually care about their esports.
from one side im like this can definitely make the fgc more fun simply because reactions can be faster so not only can offense be better but so can your defense the only thing is who ever isnt using it is at a major disadvantage so maybe if the fgc made it like the new standard for tournaments but even then theres a lot of people who refuse to use it because they feel its cheating so until we can get every on board with it id say just keep it out of the major tournaments and let it into the smaller ones so people can at least try it at a high level
And I think an outright ban at higher level majors would be screwing a fair amount of people who have wrist and hand problems, if you’re good you can beat someone on hitbox

I'm hoping in future videos you can adjust the volume of the music to match your beautiful voice a bit more. I've gotten jumpscared a few times because I had to turn up the volume to hear your voice and then at the start of the next segment the music is super loud.
Thx for the response, i'm still Learning the audio. I'll make more better in the future
@@Sanryuji Mix with your speakers first, then your headphones after. Keep meters within Yellow and go from there.
I literally got a hitbox because I was getting hand/wrist pains from playing pad. It is such an understated ergonomic improvement. Even for my overall posture since it sits on my lap.
You get the same from an arcade stick. If someone literally has a disability I'm all for making adjustments to allow them to play.
But pros and non-disabled gamers are only using this to basically cheat.
that good to hear. i’m honestly so done with people saying others use it to “cheat” when it really isn’t and theres multiple good reasons to use them outside of wanting to have some “competitive edge”.
im saving some money to buy one for the same reason XD
played on gamepad most of my life, but its giving me some pain for quite something especially after i broke my right pinky and the doctor didnt correct it so it calficied in the wrong way (shitty doctor lmao)
Stop lying
Bro, you need to monitor the volume of the songs that you put in the video, there are some that are extremely loud, and others that are very low, in fact, your voice is much lower compared to any song that you put on. Please be aware of this.
Thx for the tip, You can watch my new video "The Korean Backdash, My Way" it has better audio
👍👍
pulling an actual 4 frame super in a hitbox is extremely hard and ive ever only seen it in controlled environment, also because that whole movement is awkward to do, no one is gonna go slide their finger and move their hand entirely just to do that, also, sf6 has modern controls with 1 frame supers
It's only cheating if it's against the rules.
@@David-ln8qh Huh? Yeah, it shouold be a rule for all fighting game tournaments not just for SF.
@@videogamesareforever "But that 4 frame super is a cheat no matter what anyone else say." The games are what we make them, it aint cheating if it aint cheating.
tl;dr Hitbox is just a glorified keyboard with fewer and better keys
great video, though I would like to point out a slight inaccuracy. you stated that Diago's hitbox was SOCD. while you are correct in saying that SOCD does stand for simultaneous opposite cardinal direction, a hitbox itself is not SOCD, or non SOCD, but rather in how it handles SOCD inputs. the hitbox by default "cleans" SOCD's by making left+right= neutral, and up+down=up. making it so the game is not receiving both inputs, but rather no inputs, or just one.
Thanks for the info!
You are just describing the hill we all overcame. Stay strong out there 🫡
@@noahjackson2117 thanks. I changed the way my hands aligned on the thing & everything became easier. I love it.

Much more comfy now.
Crazy to see the drawing i did for the tekken lore unravel used for another thumbnail hahaha, amazing video
Thx . I’m a big fan of yours too and honestly your drawing was the inspiration for making the thumbnail
The debate of the hitbox is like thr f1 formula rules. Until they make a reason to ban it. It will be an advantage against the normal controllers.
Controller could already do things that stick never could.
i like your video, but you should work on ur audio mixing. Just watch whole video without changing volume level and you'll know what I mean.
Ok thanks!
This video reminds me of Core-A Gaming editorial content, which is a great thing. I have subscribed to your channel!
how the fuck did it take you guys 25 years to invent the keyboard? 😹
I have a perfect hitbox for sale if anyone’s interested.
Modern Control Players:
Man I'm glad I got things easy.
You can legally call anything a hitbox if you want. Companies just don't want you to do it cause they'll lose their trademark in a process called genericization.
Good video hitbox is cheap trash learn the game as intended pad or stick!!!
@@meohmy8870 why are you telling me that? I was just saying its not illegal to call all leverless hitboxes? Also the video ends saying that hitboxes are healthy for the community. Did we watch the same video?

Nice video mate. Can I hear your thoughts about putting Drive Impact and Parry on the right most buttons? Instead of the triple Punch/Kick?
Do you think that might be worth it? The double heavy still feels kinda weird to me tbh.
That's what I did.
LP, MP, HP, DI
LK, MK, HK, DP
As someone with sloppy inputs and motor issues, DI on the far right has been a life saver. Hitting one button instead of two makes it so much easier to do on resction
Me just waiting for elitist to make Keyboard legal... god it is such a chore on the local scene...
i can see the inspiration from core-a hehe
man i hate that theres even arguments about hitbox especially if its neutral SOCD cleaned lol
i am a stick player and i literally dont have complaints about it
Cheatingggggggggg
i always find it funny how people crack down on hitbox but not pad, keyboard, or crossups cause they can do they same things a hitbox can do even if the execution is harder on some
Cracking down on pad and keyboard would be ridiculously retarded because those are the most common types of controller
Because you can't do perfect charge inputs on anything besides hitbox with last input priority. Just one example
@@alexvasiliev925that’s why u have socd cleaning. If you only do last input then it makes it unfair. Socd levels the field. The only advantage they have is on charge characters, stick has an advantage on qcf, hc, and 360 inputs.
@@pantherplat3763 I disagree that stick has an advantage for those inputs, yes stick is more intuitive, especially for something like a 360, but in terms of speed and accuracy hitbox isn't really at a disadvantage if you get used to it.
TURN MUSIC UP WE CAN STILL HEAR YOU
Good video, but I think you're underplaying the advantages hitbox offers. It comes off as more hitbox propoganda than anything especially considering which comments you've chosen to like and support.
This thumbnail alone has convinced me that anything you say in this video should be taken as the exact opposite of actual fucking reality
I played with an elite controller for a while. U still get socd kbd, and easy just frames
Keyboard players: "look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power"
Arcade sticks are still just way more fun for me
Good video, great content but I gotta say man I hope you start to develop your own style and editing technique. This feels a little too close to ripping off Core A Gaming for me tbh. Your words and conclusions are obviously your own but the editing and pacing really feel like a whole sale rip off of Gerald's style. Again, great points and I hope you can grow and show us a bit more of your own style as you do.
Thx for the info. Core A Gaming was the inspiration for the video. Right now I'm improving my search for my own style
Hitbox has brought me back into fighting games. In addition to saving my thumbs (I’m a console gamer), it also saved my shoulders by permitting the most comfortable seated position while I play. The only downside I see as a casual gamer is bulk and cost. But I looooove my Victrix FS-12 so it’s worth the investment and, when it’s not in my lap, it’s proudly displayed in my living room.
It's weird cause hitbox for me hurts more than stick, but mainly when my char is facing to the left. Arcade stick hurt my hand at first too though, i hope it'll stop hurting when I "get used to it" like it did with stick
@@birdyfemhow can it be less ergonomical than a pad? Coming from a pad player
@@birdyfem If you've been using a keyboard for most of your life, it's no big deal.
@@birdyfemit’s better on your wrists and hands than pad or stick. I played on all three and will tell you by far my arthritis and carpel tunnel acts up so much more when I use pad and stick. It way better for me to use hitbox.
Hitbox let’s me keep my hands relaxed, only flicking (I think the term is “plinking”) the buttons with each hand. There’s no “death grip” like on a stick and ball. That said, I just ordered the Victrix Fight Stick as well because, again, it’s a really nice piece of hardware and I’m excited to mix up my play style. I appreciate when a company does one thing really well, and Victrix appears to be doing exactly that. Let’s see more excellence in niche!

1:18 hey hey, cool controller
bra you can make the d pad on a ps controller button they have a mod for that so the fact you usen a pos logitech controller as a example its dumb lol

Can you do fatalities on a hitbox
Its the core A gaming music!
Most of the BGM came from Fighting games and it fits with the video too
Great video, but the music was too loud and voice is hard to hear sometimes
Noted!
it's not cheating i used to think that till the moment i had to try one and nah it's not cheating it's different with some advantages but the same can be said from Pad to controler.
How is this innovative, fg players are stuck in the arcade ages while keyboards are a thing since forever
Nowadays, modern arcade cabs have USB ports so people can plug in their controller.
Hitbox counts, I guess.
The game is designed around and meant to be played on arcade controls. There is a reason pros didn't pick up keyboards to play.
Its like driving an electric car vs gas car. Gas car your engine has to rev up to speed, electric car you instantly get up to speed.
