This looks great in theory... but I don't understand how apps deployed with Shorebird would be allowed to circumvent the App Store / Play Store review processes, as updates also require review. Or, are you only targeting enterprise customers with internal apps?
We're first focusing on making the technology work in a general manner (across any Flutter-capable platform, not just ones with stores). Regarding the stores, there are definitely questions but many many many apps use various flavors of code push/out-of-band-updates today. expo.dev and appcenter.ms are two other products/companies specifically offering this service. Flutter is already large and hasn't been given a proper framework, would really hate it if it becomes a conditional wrapper within code you have to use everywhere. Either way I'm excited to see this become a thing

Probably the only valid reason people chose other native/ framework over flutter is code push and seems like you guys are going to solve it. So, all the best.💙
Wouldn’t this go against the processes the stores go through to approve an app? Say you make an app to be approved, but then push new changes to the app with shorebird: not sure what will happen if the stores see that the approved version changed from another source that is not the appstore or playstore.
Would this mean I could deliver different versions of the same application to portions of my userbase? I'm not really interested in A/B testing, that's different. I actually have several clients wanting their personalized version of the application.
You have to kill the app amd reopen it. Would it be possible for you to build a modal UI feature that pops up for the user so that, upon the user pressing a button, it would automatically kill the app?
