      The process to copy a mask to another layer is as follows:
      Holding Ctrl left click on the currently mask thumbnail to make a selection;
      Then, select the new layer you want to apply the mask;
      Finally, hit the mask button to create a mask with the selection that you've previously done.

    When you select the polygon to do the shadows at 1:56 , how do you instantly put on the shadow after selecting?

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  6 лет назад +7

      There are a couple of ways to do it. The fastest way is to press "D" to set the background and foreground colors to default, then hit Alt + Backspace to fill the selection made with black. Also, don't forget then to set the layer you're painting to 30% opacity.
      The other methods are: using the bucket tool and the brush tool to fill the area, but they're slow and not efficient for this specific purpose.
      Hope that helps! Feel free to ask anything else! Cheers

      @@LearnUpstairs You could speed up some steps by exporting the shadows from your CAD programm. Especially useful for really compicated shadow patterns of railings and stuff :) Also if you know before what parts will get the same colour in photoshop, you can export them with a really crazy colour and select by colour (for example: magenta for walls, or bright green for grass).
      You probably already know that, but maybe some other person reads this :D
