Hey Nick, thanks for the amazing video. I knew there was an awning out there for the rear of the vehicle. Can you please send me the link where you bought it. I don’t see it anywhere on the RUclips channel descriptions. Thank you so much
Thanks for the review, Nick. Does the awning mounted above the tailgate interfere at all with you being able to open the rear of your topper? Also, looking back on it, would you get a larger size?
You will need L brackets if you don’t already have some. Then just use carriage bolts in the channel to hold the brackets in place. Once you have that done just bolt the awning to the L bracket and you should be good to go. It’s not that hard once you dive into the project. Just make sure you get sturdy brackets. Mine were ARB that I found on Amazon but anything will do if it’s strong enough.
So small tho dude tell me how you justify the realistic use and functionality i feel like youre back in the sun 15 minutes after you park. Do you get wet from rain run off?
Yes its small... but there is a trade off. sure you could run a giant wrap around style owning. But that adds lots of weight. it also means more cost. I think the main value here is that its convenient and also you get a lot of bang for your buck. Not to mention you can mount it almost anywhere easily. But it might not be for every application. As for use, I do make adjustments on where I angle it as the sun moves but hasnt been a problem for me. I really like it for what it is but it isnt everything to everyone. Hope that helps
@@PointShiftDrive I did some research and ARB sells one, not the room (which is available only for bigger sizes) but just the side panel, check out part 813301
well to be fair... it just need simple carriage bolts to attach to any mount. and since people might have different set ups, I can see why they wouldnt include them. although it was a bit annoying to have to make an extra Home Depot trip.
Went down a rabbit hole and was looking for a awning for the rear on my Leitner Design Rack. About to order one right now! Thank you
Happy to help :)
What happen if you open up the trunk high?
Do you mean the hatch?
Nothing. It’s clears perfectly.

the link is in the description but try this: amzn.to/3odD958
If you swing out and extend the spreader bars before you unroll the awning, it's easier to do by yourself.
Thanks for the tip! I usually don’t have that much trouble setting it up but of course when the cameras role, it gets harder lol
Ordering one now to compliment my new topper that will be here this week! Thank you!
You will love it 👍🏼

Good questions. No it doesn’t interfere at all with the shell gate. Also no, I love the size. It’s like 80% of what you need 100% of the time.
@@PointShiftDrive Great, thank you
Can I get more info in how u mounted it in the channel

can you buy the side panel like on bigger size awnings?
Do you mean a wrap around? If so, I don’t think so. At least I have not seen that yet. But it’s a good product idea.
