My favorite parts of this film were the visually abstract/ pure cinema moments. I felt like the abundance of characters and dialogue made watching this feel like more of a chore and it felt really exhausting to try to keep track of everyone and what their motivation was.
That was the one thing I liked about this film: The way it portrayed the beauty of mathematical genius!
Too bad that in this case, this genius wasn't used for something good for helpful to human society...
I've watched dozens of reviews of Oppenheimer on RUclips, and yours is unquestionably the most thematically cool, clear and astute. Wonderfully organized. And put together after only one viewing of the movie! That is extremely impressive. You're superb. I also admire the movie much the way you do. I've subscribed.
Omg you're too kind, thank you so much for this! It's super fulfilling and satisfying to find out that the hard work and passion comes through in the video for a viewer like you. I can't thank you enough! So thrilled you enjoyed it!!
Always turn to your analysis when I have unanswered questions about a movie. Glad you’re there to help me understand. Thanks!
Excellent video!! Answered all my questions and gave me so many new thought-provoking ideas. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I really loved the movie so I’m super glad the video was informative. So glad you enjoyed!!
You’re analyzing of these fantastic movies is eye opening and gets me thinking. 🙌
That’s so sweet to hear, it’s honestly one of the biggest reasons why I do it so thank you for letting me know, it means so much!
So glad youre back! Another great piece of analysis. I really enjoyed the movie but had questions, and youve answered most of them here. Love it. Keep it up.
Thank you so much my friend, and so happy the video was helpful! I'm glad to be back!
The ending of that film was absolutely chilling. I regret not watching in theatres.
Thank you for answering all the questions I had btw!
Ohhh yes it was haha such an epic way to swing it all around, and I’m super happy to answer your questions! Thank you so much for watching!
You really didn't miss anything... it was uncomfortably and distractingly loud... Such a cheap trick, to auditorily "overwhelm" the audience in the quest to impress them... Apparently Nolan does this for all his films (?) which in my eyes cheapens him and also shows that he neither truly respects the public nor his own work....
Perfect! Great explanation! Clear, concise, not too long. Thank you!
Great analysis as always…
Thank you!!
loved your explanation! 💯
Welcome back!!! I missed your analysises.
Sorry I was away so long and I’m so glad to be back! Thank you so much!!

Wow! I am so impressed with your analysis.😮
i love these videos. the research is on point, but it's the general vibe that made me hit SUBSCRIBE. keep it up my guy
Omg so glad you love the vibe! I try to keep it as relaxed as possible with such complex subject matter, so I'm really happy you appreciate that. Thank you so much!!
Super good..Thank You for insightful details
Totally my pleasure! Thank you so much for watching!!
That being said, I also love your analysis and it gives me a deeper appreciation of the film. I definitely didn’t get the color vs. black and white theme nor the fission vs. fusion theme. So thanks for that!
This is super refreshing to hear. Even though you had different opinions than me on the film itself, you were still open enough to find insight in the analysis and enjoy the video! I really appreciate that, thank you so much!!
This actually helped me understand the movie, thank you!
Thank you. I needed and wanted this analysis after watching the film. Going for round 2 in 70mm IMAX today. Prepped with this video ❤
you're offically my favourite movie reviewer. Where have you been all these years, man? dammn I love this channel!
Omg this means so much to me considering how many videos I’ve made now, thank you so much my friend!!
Very good analysis!! Thank you

Great review/breakdown of this movie.
Thank you so much man!
@@lucasblue20 your welcome !
You are an amazing film analyst, bravo!
Wow thank you! I love to do it, so your words means a lot, so glad to hear you enjoyed!!
Just saw the movie. Thanks for the video! Great explanation!
My pleasure, thank you so much!!
Groovy, Lucas. I was waiting for this. You have delivered as always. Hi, from London. I am about to put the kettle on. Saw this film on IMAX last night here in the Capital.
Oppenheimer is THE movie to see in IMAX, I’m so glad you caught it. I saw it in 70 mm film at a smaller theatre which was super cool as well, it was so good! And from here, it really sounds like you’re livin the good life in London haha enjoy my friend!! Thank you for watching and for the kind words!
@@lucasblue20 One other thought. Prometheus was doomed to have his liver eaten each night by the Eagle only to grow back for the following night's torture. I always viewed this act as a metaphor for Oppy's unconquerable alcoholism. Alas.
Oh yeah that’s a clever thought! Very well could be another reason why the original book was called American Prometheus. I’m sure the authors had an endless list of parallels. Great observation!!
great analysis thank u
Thank you!! So glad you enjoyed!
Great video. Thank you.
My pleasure, thank you!!
Perfectly explained! Thank you! American Prometheus was a great book!
you completely missed a giant part of the prometheus quote. having seen the film 9 times, the line is "prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to man / for this he was chained to a rock and tortured for eternity". that torture part is easily the most important part of that quote, showing how he felt that he gave something to humanity and was tortured for it. another massive theme is that or martyrdom, about how robert felt his guilt could be calmed if it "played the martyr" and gave up his life, like a martyr does.
Good analysis 👍🏽
Brilliant analysis to an absolutely magnificent film
Great analysis. Well scripted and spoken. I only saw the film once with my girlfriend and it's quite impactful. I'll rewatch at home when the 4k disk is released.
Dude... you're really good
This actually means so much to me my friend, thank you so much!
great video ! I really enjoyed the movie.
Great analysis. Subscribed. Wanted to ask what are your thoughts of the black and white scene of Oppenheimer humiliating straus the second time along? Do you reckon it could have been dramatised from his perspective as was his perception (essentially fabricated) of what Oppenheimer spoke with Einstein about? Great video!
good stuff 👍
Thank you!!
Would love to see you do a video on “Lost in Translation” 🙏🏾
Please upload more often
Life was certainly getting in the way but im now getting back into my regular rhythm. You can expect more. Thank you for letting me know!!
@@lucasblue20 hope you're doing better. Love the content.
If you are reading this, I would love to see an analysis of Men by Alex Garland. I find it hard to tackle and I would trust nobodys take on it as much as yours ^^
This helped me understand it better. Just one question why does Einstein ignore Strauss at the end
i think its because the last thing he says to oppenheimer is he "already did" start the neverending chain reaction that will end the world. It's this dark thought that sends Einstein skulking away, ignoring straus, to caught up with thus thought
I should have watched this video before going to the movie!
I am sorry. I know it does not relate to this movie. But I was hoping you would do a video about The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster. It's a beautiful movie that I would love to hear your thoughts on it. Not sure you take fan requests. Hope it is on your watch list. Thanks for your time with these wonderful videos 😀
Omg I totally missed this film, sorry life really got in the way for a little bit since my Beau is Afraid video but I’m back now and it feels great (new computer too, which is a game-changer)! I at least have to check this movie out, it looks really cool. I’ll try to make time this week. Thank you!!
@@lucasblue20 Thank you for the consideration. Enjoy your weekend
One other thing I’d like to add is that I don’t think that Nolan does a very good job with women characters. They tend to feel very peripheral to any plot and two dimensional in comparison to the male characters. If Nolan were ever to focus a story on a woman, I wonder if he could get better at that.
Nolan is clearly both sexist and racist...
Yo Lucas do u have Letterboxd?
I actually don’t, I’m so scared that I’ll obsess over logging and updating every single little thing haha I have that kind of personality, I’m sorry!
@@lucasblue20 Try it you never know, Would love to see your reviews and ratings, I think it would be tight
i still think all of nolans movies from 2011 and before were his best movies so far
It felt like I was watching beautiful mind. I definitely felt right from the beginning he had an undiagnosed mental illness.
I am at this moment half way through the film.....trying to figure what is going on..what is it they think Oppenheimer did that was wrong ? Somethign to do with the Russians ?
It’s wasn’t confusing as Tenet
Just watched it today. The cast is amazing, explosion is amazing, ost is great. Story is meh. Probably unpopular opinion, but personally I expected more.
I enjoyed documentary from Veritasium on Oppenheimer, science videos from sixtysymbols, and stories from Feynman on the subject of manhattan project more than this movie story-wise.
Yeah that’s all totally understandable, I feel like if you have a strong knowledge of the true story, you can’t help but feel like the story in the film is a little inauthentic. I have that feeling with several sports movies often when they revolve around a sport I’ve played for years. Nonetheless, I’m really glad you brought this idea here. It shows that all great films are flawed in one way or another, and are never meant to be perfect. Thank you!
Thank you too! Your analysis is great as always
Imagine watching Barbie. That would make you feel like you have blood on your hands
Great video but bro, you’re an adult. Frame those movie posters. You’ll thank me later when you have a guy or lady prospective love interest over your pad.
stop talking with your hands, its very annoying
