I am a native Washington and it was worse back in the 80s and the 90s! You need parents training their children at home so that when they become adults and go out into the world they have some social redeeming value to them.
I remember when I was a kid, we didn't have to lock the doors and windows at night. People looked out for each other, and we could ride our bikes on the street without fear. And only one house had a fence around it. Today my old street has all fenced in yards, signs warning of trespassing, etc. The way things are today makes me sick... and I have 5 grandchildren now and I worry about their future. 😢
