The best strategy I found for killing the Bishop is to have 5 fully upgraded guardian squad and 1 fully upgraded diplomat squad to fight him. He gets destroyed in 20 second. Up until the bishop I recommend using an Engineer or 2, a Diplomat, a Mech (switch between flamethrower and missle launcher modes as needed) and fill up the remaining spots with guardians.
I'm halfway through the following 'planet', and I've found this level to be the hardest in the game so far, as far as getting the strategy right. This game hasn't quite filled the void left until the next Kingdom Rush is released, but it's still a great little game.
This level isn't even that difficult if you have a squad of Diplomats and Engineers. The Engineers are useful to tear down structures and they have heavy armor, while the Diplomats can shield your squad and stun(lock) enemies, including the Bishop. Add a squad of Guardians, and you'll rip the Bishop apart in no time. There's a reason why they're there from the start.
i had the same idea in my mind but didn't know if it will work or not, i just tried it and Bishop barely touched my soldiers and none of them died, I only used 3 pairs of diplomats and 1 pair of normal guardians with parragon and i had 1 more command unit that i didn't even notice. I lured it to the base like in the video for the bonus damage and it was easy af
For some reason maxed 6 squads of diplomat is so enough to kill it easily, tulpa sentries deal massive damage and with that numbers, while the miniboss gets constantly attacks only the shield and gets constant stun from the diplomats
Play on casual. Use a lot of guardians mixed with one set of rangers. Make sure you have enough upgrades so you have an extra command point, that helps a bunch! Good luck!

You can do it in impossible mode. Take the etherium and the command point near the start to build teams of guardians and 1 set of diplomats, (you need to pop the device to store extra etherium because you can't have the 60 needed to buy empyrean units with just the first base). Then rush to the cocoon. With the diplomats the fell bishop is locked and is no problem, you just have to protect your guardians from the other units.
Explore the left area beside your first base theres one command point there, and the left and right of the cocoon building and theres one for both sides
Just buy it, its actually pretty cheap for a game with high quality and great balance like that, and its overall cheap as a normal game, respect the dev ironhide for making such incredible perfect quality solid strategy games, you won't find many small devs like that this days
Every summer i believe there is a discount where its only less than a dollar, it applies to every ironhide game(vengeance almost 3 dollars) and even in game items are discounted

Upgrades, there is a upgrade where it allows you to have one extra command point every start of a level
The only way i killed the bishop is by using my rocket towers because i put the stun upgrade on them so that the bishop dont attack more often

I got the extra command point and just get 7 guardian sqauds and the rocket hero and the rockets and lightsabers melt him

Why you dont complete this mission without losing any Squards? Achievement "Flawless Victory" is interesting gain at 'Impossible' level of difficulty.

kingdom rush series is more addictive than this one..but game play is beyond average
