For this work you need 4 cables, 2 of one length, 2 of another so the whole system is lifting the same amount at the same time. One continuous cable will not work. I knew a boat winch could do this, but the block of 2x4 is surely a failure point at some point. And 9 pulleys. And all that wood. A ton of overkill to me. But hey, his works, and mine is still in my mind.
If you replace the steel cable for Dyneema rope, it will move less when in the up position.
Super cool design. Can you post a sketch of how the cable system works for this?
Oh please do! I would love to build one. Or could you post a follow up video showing some more detail?
Im interested in a sneak peek to the construction project too
@@cliffwendy3765 would love to see how the pulley system works too

Love this desk_! Have any DIYer know about DIY SmartDesk Kit from Autonomous?
Yes
Hal that is totally awesome! Is that an IKEA desk/table being used as the adjustable part?
Seth Anderson It is! It's the Bjorkudden dining table, with just a few modifications.
Hal Martin When do Mary and I get ours? JK :)
Good ! can You help me sketch for DIY or Partslist?
How can I contact you
How much was the cost?
Would love to know how you built this! Thanks!
